  • Nu Teliani Defeats Skyler York Heads Up for 6-Max Title

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:1/75
    Prizes:$49,875

After the 6-Max game played 4-handed for several levels, they went from 4 to 1 in just a few minutes. After Lee Clark and Deven Lane hit the rail for 4th and 3rd, respectively, Nu Teliani and Skyler York were very even in chips. They played a few small pots without showdown before the big confrontation.

York opened the button to 90k, then called when Teliani reraised it to 220k. She fired 180k on the 2K4 flop. York repopped it to 460k, and Teliani came back over again to 740k. York flatted to see 2 on the turn, then faced a shove from Teliani.

She had him covered by just a few chips, but he called it off. He had pocket sixes, but he was behind the KQ for Teliani. The Q river improved her more, and York had to settle for second place tonight. This was Teliani’s 18th live win, and will add ~$10k USD to her Hendon Mob earnings, which were just over $600k going into the game.

  • Clark, Lane Out; Now Heads Up

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:2/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Lee Clarke hit the rail for 4th today, shortly after he was left short in the hand against Skyler York. Shortly after, short-stack Deven Lane followed him to the cage for 3rd place, leaving Nu Teliani and Skyler York battling it out for the win.

  • Clarke to Fumes

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$49,875

It was limped in the blinds between Skyler York and Lee Clarke to see Q103 on the flop. Both players checked the flop and the 5 turn, but it got a bit crazy on the river 10. York bet 90k, then called it when Clarke reraised to 200k.

Clarke was on the jack-eight bluff against 54 for a turned pair. The hand left Clarke with just 180k behind.

  • York Takes Two, Lane Takes One

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$49,875

There’s been a lot of recent action, with Skyler York getting a couple of big pots, while Deven Lane grabbed a double. The action started when York jammed 215k from the button, and was called by Lee Clarke. Clarke’s ace-ten had York’s ten-seven suited dominated, but York flopped a gutty and turned the straight for the double.

He then picked up a pot with pocket tens after running out to tens full against Deven Lane. York opened and Nu Teliani called before Lane jammed the big blind. York called, and got another big pot with his full house.

After that, Lane got it in with pocket sixes against ace-jack for Teliani, and the sixes held to double him back into the game.

  • Lane Gets There to Survive

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Lee Clarke limped the button before Nu Teliani raised big from the small blind with a stack of gold 100k chips. Deven Lane called off with about 350k from the big blind, while Clarke got out of the way.

Lane had the best of it with [invalid notations] against QJ for Teliani, but Teliani spiked her jack on the flop to take the lead. However, by the time the J2264 board was complete, Lane had running hearts for the nut flush and a double up.

  • Teliani Leads at Break, York on her Heels

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$49,875

The players are on a break following Level 21, and Nu Teliani is still in the lead, but Skyler York is right behind her.

  • Clarke Gets There to Stay Alive

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$49,875

The flop was already out when I got to the table, showing K35. Lee Clarke checked the big blind before Nu Teliani made it 44k to go.

Clarke came over the top with a check-shove for 169k, and Teliani called it off to put him at risk. She was playing the best with pocket queens, but Clarke was drawing to the hearts. He bricked the turn, but the river saved him when the board ran out KA.

  • Lane Doubles

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Nu Teliani raised the small blind to 45k, then called it off when Deven Lane shoved the big for 204k. She had queen-ten versus ace-four for Lane, and Lane spiked his four on the flop of 3453 and held for the double. There is another break coming in about 10 minutes, and I’ll update the counts then.

  • Telieni Doubles Back to Lead

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$49,875

It was a huge pot between Lee Clarke in the small blind and Nu Teliani in the big. Teliani had been chipped down from her previous big lead, and Clarke was sitting on the big stack.

He opened the small to 60k, then called when Teliani pumped it up to 200k. Clarke check-shoved the 73A flop, and Teliani called it off to put herself at risk.

Clarke was on diamonds with the king-eight, while Teliani was on top pair with ace-jack. Clarke turned the 8 to give him more outs, but the river J gave Teliani two pair and the big double.

She is now back well over a million, while Clarke was left with about 320k to play.

  • York Won’t be Pushed Around

    Level:20 (10000/15000/15000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Skyler York raised the button to 35k, but Lee Clarke decided to make a move from the small blind, putting it up to 80k. Nu Teliani folded her small blind before York hit the tank for about 30 seconds, then 4-bet to 190k. Clarke quickly got rid of his hand to send the 3-bet to York’s stack.

  • Tony Ma Out in 5th Place for

    Level:20 (10000/15000/15000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$49,875
    Tony Ma

There are four left in the 6-Max now after Tony Ma went out in 5th place. I missed the action, but he’d been the short stack at the table for a while and was putting himself at risk fairly often.

  • Clarke with Dramatic Double

    Level:20 (10000/15000/15000)
    Entries:5/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Lee Clarks shoved the cutoff for 194k, and after some time in the tank, Nu Teliani called from the button to put him at risk. Clarke was ahead with AJ versus A5 for Teliani.

Teliani ended up ruining her flush, but Clarke had already flopped her dead on the board of JJJ32.

  • York Rivers It; Clarke Takes on on Turn

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:5/75
    Prizes:$49,875

It was limped preflop between blinds Tony Ma and Skyler York, and they both checked the KK2 flop. On the 10 turn, Ma led for 20k and York called. They went back to checks on the 5 river, and Ma announced jack-high, but mucked when York rolled over 54 for the rivered pair of fives with a busted flush draw.

A few hands later, Lee Clarke raised the button to 25k, and Deven Lane came along from the big blind. They both checked the 21010 flop, and Lane check-folded to 15k on the A turn.

  • Cameron Stewart Out in 6th Place for $2,695

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:5/75
    Prizes:$49,875
    Cameron Stewart

The field is down to 5 left now after Cameron Stewart hit the rail in a hand I missed while I was out of the room. There are now about 20 minutes remaining in Level 19, and the average stack is 50 big blinds, but Nu Teliani has 110 of the 250 big blinds in play right now.

  • Ma Shoves the Spades

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:6/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Tony Ma raised the cutoff to 25k, then called when Skyler York three-bet to 60k from the button. The all spade flop was AQ10, and Ma Shoved for 125k. York hit the tank for a bit, but ultimately gave up his hand.

“Umm, check, I mean,” said Ma with a smile. “I played that hand so badly.”

The final day of the 6-Max is set with 9 players returning. Nu Teliani is leading the way by a significant margin with 866k. Her closest rival is Deven Lane with 470k, much of which he acquired in the final hand by knocking out Colten Yamagishi on the bubble while taking a nice side pot from Skyler York at the same time. That dropped York to 3rd overall with 398k to end the day.

The Day 2 action gets going at 1 PM, and they’ll play to a winner on Tuesday. All players are guaranteed $1,295, but there’s $15,965 waiting up top for the winner.

They are still two eliminations away from the 7-handed final table, so there will be no redraw to start Day 2. See below for seats and stacks of the 9 players in the 6-Max money.

  • Yamagishi Bubbles the 6-Max Money

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:9/75
    Prizes:$49,875

The bags are out, and it was Colten Yamagishi who took the unfortunate bubble tonight. He was short through most of the endgame, and managed to survive for quite a while with his trademark well-timed shoves.

It couldn’t last, however, and he got it in from the button with both Deven Lane and Skyler York calling from the blinds. There was a healthy side pot by the time the 3978K board, which Lane took with his king-jack of hearts, sending Yamagishi out on the bubble.

Stay tuned for the final counts going into Day 2, coming within the hour.

  • Yamagishi Makes the Quiet Move

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:10/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Colten Yamagishi isn’t usually shy at the poker table, but in this case, he put his finger to his lips in a move to silence the table as he quietly slid in 83k of his remaining 84k from the button. The table played along with Deven Lane quietly folding his small blind, and Skyler York solently asking for a count with a point from the big.

York mucked a the [pcm]As[/pcn] face up, and Yamagishi showed the 2 as he pulled in the pot. “That’s a pro poker move right there, shoving with a deuce on the bubble,” said tablemate Tony Ma with a smile.

  • Hand-For-Hand to the Money

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:10/75
    Prizes:$49,875

The field is down to 10 left after Daniel Lefebvre hit the rail recently while I was finishing up the side game. The clock is now paused with two minutes coming off manually for each hand played until the next elimination. Given the lateness of the hour, it seems likely they’ll bag up once the bubble bursts tonight.

Nu Teliani still looks to be the big leader with three full stacks of whites in front of her.

  • Sarnelli Doubles with Running Hearts

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:15/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Benny Sarnelli was down to 48k and shoved from the button. Deven Lane had a think about it from the small blind before ultimately folding, but Colten Yamagishi woke up with an ace-eight and called it off. Sarnelli was suited in hearts with king-nine, and it looked even worse for him after Yamagishi flopped an eight, but when the 5J878 board was complete, Sarnelli’s hearts capped the trips of Yamagishi.

  • 6-Max May Play Until Final Table

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:15/75

The 6-Max game hits the money at 9 players tonight, and according to the schedule, that should be the end of Day 1. However, if the players all agree, the casino staff have agreed to let them play to the final table today, if they choose, which would be seven players remaining.

15 players are still alive now, so they need to get rid of 6 more to hit the money, and 8 more to hit the final table.

Tony Ma opened the cutoff to 5.5k and Daniel Lefebvre called from the big blind. He check-called for 5k on the AQ4 flop, and again for 13k on the 3 turn.

Both players checked the 8 river, and Ma mucked his hand when Lefebvre rolled over A2 for top pair. Lefebvre looks to one of the big stacks right now with about 350k in front of him, but I’ll get some exact counts in about 10 minutes.

The 6-Max field is now one entry shy of 65, with prizes at $42,560. There are still 33 players at the felt, with entries closing in just over 90 minutes when they return from dinner for Level 10.

Among the players in the 6-Max mix are Colten Yamagishi, Ramaz Haymour, Nicholas Peterson, Francis Fan, Phillip Louie, Tony Ma, Eric Wasylenko, Deven Lane, Alex Liu, Zeyu Huang, Skyler York, Ali Razzaq, Michael “Berny” Bernstein, Nu Teliani, Ed Zurawell, Brett Worton, Benny Sarnelli, and Shawn Taghavi.

There are currently 6 tables in action, and I’ve just collected the chip leader’s count from each table. It looks like Matthew Ouellette is the big leader right now with about 170k, with three others over 100k, and two more closing in on that number.

    Entries:36/54
    Prizes:$35,910

The 6-Max game is heading toward the second break of the day, with about 5 minutes to play in Level 6. The field is now at 54 entries for prizes of almost $36k, with just under 3 hours left to enter the game.

I’ll have a look around on the break to see who is stacking chips the highest right now.

  • Nearing 50 Entries

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:35/47
    Prizes:$31,255

Level 5 is about halfway complete with 47 entries on the board. That puts the prizes at $31,255 with 3 hours and 45 minutes left to enter the game. Entries close at the start of Level 10, at about 8 PM tonight, so I’m still expecting another 20-ish entries at least before it shuts down for the day.

  • 34 Entries on First Break

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:30/34
    Prizes:$22,610

The 6-Max game is on the first break of the day with three levels now in the books. The field is at 34 entries for prizes of more than $22k.

Entries are still open for a bit less than 5 hours, with the desk set to close around 8 PM tonight. I expect to see another 30+ entries for this at least before they close the desk.

  • Monday is 6-Max Day

    Date:Day 1: Sep 22, 1 PM
    Day 2: Sep 23, 1 PM
    Blinds:40 Minutes
    Starting Stack:40k
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~8:00 PM)
Day 1 Ends:12.5% of the Field, In the Money

The main Monday game at PPT #4 is the 6-Max. Play starts at 1 PM, and players get 40,000 in chips to start. Levels will be 40 minutes long, and entries are open for 9 levels, or until about 8 PM.

This is a two-day event, and Day 1 will play until players are in the money with 12.5% of the field remaining, no matter how late that goes. The money play will happen on Tuesday at 1 PM.

Shawn Taghavi, Winner of the July 6-Max

Last time out, the game saw 77 entries for prizes of more than $51k. Shawn Taghavi added to a pretty decent series with his second trophy, after winning the Seniors to start the week.

This game will be my main focus for the day, but I’ll be late to the floor after a very long Sunday. I should be on task before the second break at the latest.

    Prizes:$49,875

Colten Yamagishi raised the button to 12k before Deven Lane reupped it to 36k from the small blind. Daniel Lefebvre folded his big, and Yamagishi hit the tank for a bit before announcing all-in. Lane quickly mucked his hand to send the pot to Yamagishi.

    Entries:12/75

  • Sarnelli Doubles with Running Hearts

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:15/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Benny Sarnelli was down to 48k and shoved from the button. Deven Lane had a think about it from the small blind before ultimately folding, but Colten Yamagishi woke up with an ace-eight and called it off. Sarnelli was suited in hearts with king-nine, and it looked even worse for him after Yamagishi flopped an eight, but when the 5J878 board was complete, Sarnelli’s hearts capped the trips of Yamagishi.

  • 6-Max May Play Until Final Table

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:15/75
    Prizes:$49,875

The 6-Max game hits the money at 9 players tonight, and according to the schedule, that should be the end of Day 1. However, if the players all agree, the casino staff have agreed to let them play to the final table today, if they choose, which would be seven players remaining.

15 players are still alive now, so they need to get rid of 6 more to hit the money, and 8 more to hit the final table.

  • Lefebvre Stacking Up

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:17/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Tony Ma opened the cutoff to 5.5k and Daniel Lefebvre called from the big blind. He check-called for 5k on the AQ4 flop, and again for 13k on the 3 turn.

Both players checked the 8 river, and Ma mucked his hand when Lefebvre rolled over A2 for top pair. Lefebvre looks to one of the big stacks right now with about 350k in front of him, but I’ll get some exact counts in about 10 minutes.

  • 9 Off the Bags

There are about 5 minutes remaining in Level 11, and the next break will come at the end of Level 12. I’ll grab another full round of chip counts at the break for all remaining players.

  • Down to 4 Tables

    Level:11 (1000/2000/2000)
    Entries:24/75
    Prizes:$49,875

Entries are now closed for the 6-Max, and while I’m still waiting for the prizes to confirm, it looks like they got 75 entries for the game today. If that holds, it will mean 10 players sharing in nearly $50k in prizes on tomorrow’s Day 2.

Lane had the best of it with [invalid notations] against QJ for Teliani, but Teliani spiked her jack on the flop to take the lead. However, by the time the J2264 board was complete, Lane had running hearts for the nut flush and a double up.

    Tony Ma

There are four left in the 6-Max now after Tony Ma went out in 5th place. I missed the action, but he’d been the short stack at the table for a while and was putting himself at risk fairly often.
