2025 Pure Poker Tour Series #4 – Event #9: $340 PLO Bounty

The game was stuck on 6-handed for quite a while tonight, but once Leo Zhang ended his run in 6th, the action started moving a lot quicker. To be fair, it was a pretty stacked final table, that included the Comely brothers, Justin Pennell, the aforementioned Zhang, Zeyu Huang, John Phan, and Tony Ma.

Out of that list, Anthony Madden stood at the top, with runner-up Frank Urbanovich second. There was a lot of banter between the final four, with Madden and Tony and Ryan Comely throwing a few good-spirited jabs. In the end, after a few hands of heads-up play, the final two decided to deal and finish the night.

Madden got $4,700 and the trophy, while Urbanovich got a few extra Browns added to the official second-place payout. He also picked up two bounties for an extra $200, while Madden had $1,100 in bounty bonus tonight.

Ryan Comely was the short stack in the final three, and he got his money in with aces, but Anthony Madden turned a set of sixes to crack the rockets and send the elder Comely home one spot higher than his younger brother. Comely added a couple hundo extra with two bounties tonight as well.

The money went in on the turn between Tony Comely and Anthony Madden. Comely was covered and playing aces and sevens, but Madden was on the better two pair with aces and kings. The river bricked for Comey and he was out in 4th place.

Zeyu Huang and Tony Comely had virtually the same hand when the money went in preflop. Comely was on A♠K♥J♥10♥ against A♠K♣Q♦4♣. The flop gave Huang a club draw, but once it was complete with 6♠2♣9♣J♠K♠, Comely had two pair and the win.

Leo Zhang was at risk on the short stack to Tony Comely. Zhang was on a Broadway cards against the aces and sixes for Comely. Comely hit a six for a set and held to bring the game to 5 remaining. The average stack now is 465k, or just shy of 20 big blinds.

Ryan Comely potted the button, and Anthony Madden called to see 8♦A♠2♠. Madden check-called Comely’s shove for 105k, and he was on A♥K♣9♣6♠ against A♦Q♥J♥8♠ for Comely.

Comely’s two pair held when the board ran out 5♠3♣ and he doubled to keep the game six-handed.

Frank Urbanovich was down to 105k, and after Zeyu Huang raised to 40k, he shoved it. Huang called it off with 8♣7♠6♦6♣ against K♥Q♥J♣9♠. Huang looked good on the flop, but once the 7♦5♥3♦K♣2♦ board was complete, Urbanovich had the best pair and the double,

Urbanovich repotted to 225k, pushing out Madden and Zhang. Huang hit the tank for a while before finally folding, and Urbanovich showed aces and kings as he collected the pot.

Urbanovich checked, and Madden put his remaining 100k in. Urbanovich called, but his [invalid notations]. Madden’s flopped set turned a straight and a spade draw when the board ran out 10♠6♥.

The final table is just being set after Ramaz Haymour couldn’t spin up his fumes after sending most of his stack to Tony Comely just before the bubble burst.

I’m still watching the final four of the 6-Max play down to a winner, so I’m not watching this one very closely yet. Level 4 just kicked off with 43 entries on the board for combined prizes of $12,255, and $4,300 of that in the bounty pool.

Players start with 25k in chips to play 25-minute levels, and they’ll play until one person has all the chips. In July, Michael Legacy picked up his first trophy in this game, defeating DJ Sharma heads-up (it was the 3rd time in the series that Sharma had been heads up, and had to settle for second). The game saw 121 entries for prizes of $34,485 ($22,385 prizes, $12,100 bounties).

This will be my second focus for the day, and I won’t be watching it very closely until the 6-Max is complete. I expect this to go reasonably late, however, so I should get some endgame coverage in.
