  • Anthony Madden Chops for the PLO Bounty Win

The game was stuck on 6-handed for quite a while tonight, but once Leo Zhang ended his run in 6th, the action started moving a lot quicker. To be fair, it was a pretty stacked final table, that included the Comely brothers, Justin Pennell, the aforementioned Zhang, Zeyu Huang, John Phan, and Tony Ma.

Out of that list, Anthony Madden stood at the top, with runner-up Frank Urbanovich second. There was a lot of banter between the final four, with Madden and Tony and Ryan Comely throwing a few good-spirited jabs. In the end, after a few hands of heads-up play, the final two decided to deal and finish the night.

Madden got $4,700 and the trophy, while Urbanovich got a few extra Browns added to the official second-place payout. He also picked up two bounties for an extra $200, while Madden had $1,100 in bounty bonus tonight.

Frank Urbanovich limped in early, and four more players came along to the 1083 flop. They all checked through to the K turn.

It checked to Anthony Madden on the cutoff, and he bet 35k. Tony Comely folded his button, and Leo Zhang folded his small blind before Zeyu “Skytrain” Huang check-potted to 165k. Urbanovich got out of the way, as did Madden after some time in the tank. Huang showed a pair of tens for the flopped set as he collected the pot.

    Entries:21/93
    Prizes:$26,505 ($17,205 prizes, $9,300 bounties)

The PLO Bounty field ended up at 93 entries for $26,505 in combined prizes. 10 players will get a piece of that later tonight, and they are now 11 off the money with 21 players remaining.

  • 88 Entries on Dinner

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:32/88
    Prizes:$25,080 ($16,280 prizes, $8,800 bounties)

The PLO Bounty players are on their dinner break now, with 88 entries on the board and 32 players remaining. They’ll be away from the tables for 30 minutes, and entries will be closed when they sit down for Level 10.

It looks like Justin Pennell is playing the big stack right now with 295k, while Zeyu Huang has just shy of 240k. Julius Roque is playing about 165k while Ryan Comely is on about 135k.

  • 43 Entries to Start Level 4

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:32/43
    Prizes:$12,255 ($7,955 prizes, $4,300 bounties)

I’m still watching the final four of the 6-Max play down to a winner, so I’m not watching this one very closely yet. Level 4 just kicked off with 43 entries on the board for combined prizes of $12,255, and $4,300 of that in the bounty pool.

I’ll move over to cover the rest of this game once the 6-Max crowns a winner.

  • 4-Card Bounty on the Tuesday Side

    Date:Sep 23, 3 PM
    Blinds:25 Minutes
    Starting Stack:25k
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~7:30 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

The side game on Tuesday is the $340 PLO Bounty, with $100 flat bounties. The action kicks off at 3 PM, with entries open until the start of Level 10 at about 730 PM.

Players start with 25k in chips to play 25-minute levels, and they’ll play until one person has all the chips. In July, Michael Legacy picked up his first trophy in this game, defeating DJ Sharma heads-up (it was the 3rd time in the series that Sharma had been heads up, and had to settle for second). The game saw 121 entries for prizes of $34,485 ($22,385 prizes, $12,100 bounties).

This will be my second focus for the day, and I won’t be watching it very closely until the 6-Max is complete. I expect this to go reasonably late, however, so I should get some endgame coverage in.

    Prizes:$26,505 ($17,205 prizes, $9,300 bounties)

Bobby Rutledge busted out on the soft bubble to get them hand-for-hand tonight. Tony Comely just put himself at risk with a preflop shove over Ramaz Haymour. After some time in the tank, Haymour called with queens and hearts, but ran into aces with diamonds. The suits were irrelevant, and Comely’s aces held.

Comely had 92.5k to start the hand, so he’s over 200k now, while Haymour is on fumes.

Frank Urbanovich limped from the button, Leo Zhang completed the small blind, and Bernice McLennan checked her option in the big. All players checked through the 6584 flop and turn, but Zhang elected to lead for 8k on the J river.

Both players called, and initially, everyone thought they were playing two pair, with the jacks and threes of Urbanovich biggest, until McLennan noticed the little straight with her 2356

    Entries:21/93
    Prizes:$26,505 ($17,205 prizes, $9,300 bounties)
