Andy Truong Wins High Roller for $107,834
Level: 26 (40000/80000/80000) Entries: 1/140 Prizes: $438,200
Andy Truong, winner of the High Roller
Cristian Moldovan I wasn’t able to catch much of the action until heads up in this one, as it played down at the same time as the Main Event. Both heads up players had been here before this series. Andy Truong was heads up in the half & half, while Cristian Moldovan was heads up in the $600 Mystery Bounty.
In both of those cases, the players came second in those games, but tonight, one of them was guaranteed a ring. Andy Truong had the lead throughout the HU, but Moldovan wasn’t going easily. While he was never able to chip up to more than about 2.5 million (of 7 million in play), he also rarely put himself at risk, or chipped down below 10 bigs.
In the final hand, he shoved an offsuit ace-nine, but Truong woke up with tens and called it off. Moldovan hit his 9 on the flop, but that was all he got, and Truong scored the win.
This was Truong’s 12th live win, but his first Circuit ring. The prize should easily slot in as his second biggest score.

Truong Has the Bigger Two
Level: 25 (30000/60000/60000) Entries: 2/140 Prizes: $438,200 Andy Truong raised to 125k and Cristian Moldovan called to the 4♣6♠7♦ flop. Moldovan check-called for 125k, then check-called again on the J♥ turn.
Moldovan fired 210k on the 5♣ river, and when Truong called, Moldovan announced “Two pair”, showing seven-five. Truong showed seven-six for the bigger two and took it down.

Moldovan Doubles
Level: 25 (30000/60000/60000) Entries: 2/140 Prizes: $438,200 Cristian Moldovan limped, then called the shove from Andy Truong to put himself at risk. Truong was in front with ace-queen off against jack-nine of diamonds. Moldovan flopped a jack to take the lead, but when a queen came on the river, it initially looked like Truong was the winner, until Moldovan pointed to the running diamonds on the board that gave him the flush.
He had 750k before then hand, so he’s up to about 1.65 million now, but still trailing Truong.

High Roller Bags with 26 Remaining
Level: 15 (3000/6000/6000) Entries: 26/140 Prizes: $438,200 Day 1 of the High Roller is complete, and they got deeper than expected. There were still 50 players battling for 21 paid spots when entries closed at the start of Level 13, but they played through nearly half of those remaining players in the final three levels of Day 1.
There are 26 players returning for the final day, and 5 will have to leave empty-handed. Igor Tregoubov is the chip leader right now with 475k. Richard Leblanc, DJ Sharma, Michael Letal, and Andy Truong all have more than 400k to start the day as well.
The Day 2 action gets going at 1 PM with the start of Level 16 (4k/8k/8k), and they’ll award the ring before the action ends. This game will be my second focus for the day, but once the Main ring is on someone’s finger, I’ll move to cover the end of this one.

More than $400k in Prizes with 20 Minutes in Entries
Level: 12 (2000/3000/3000) Entries: 51/130 Prizes: $406,900 There are 130 entries in the High Roller with just over 20 minutes to get into the second-last game of the series. The final chance to buy in for a ring will come tomorrow, but the final shot for a High Roller ring is less than 25 minutes away. 51 players remain right now, and if 130 entries hold, it should mean 20 players get a piece of the prizes tomorrow.

I won’t be following this one very closely today, as the Main and the Freezeout will be taking most of my bandwidth, but I should have a bit more time for Day 2 tomorrow, depending on how long Day 3 of the Main goes.

Day 1 High Roller Action Goes Sunday

WSOP-C Oct 2025 Infocard
Event #17: $3,500 High Roller ($3,130 + $370)
Date: Day 1: Oct 12, 2 PM
Day 2: Oct 13, 1 PMBlinds: 40 Minutes Starting Stack: 50k Late Entry: 12 Levels (~11:00 PM) Day 1 Ends: 15 Levels (~1:00 AM) The second-last event of the October Series kicks off Day 1 play at 2 PM on Sunday. The High Rollers will have 15 levels of play on Day 1, with entries open for 12 of those levels. That should put the last chance to buy into the high roller at about 11 PM, with Day 1 bagging up at about 1 AM.
Players sit down with 50k in chips for 40-minute levels throughout the game. The field might be in the money on Day 1, but the bags will come out after Level 15 regardless of whether they are getting paid or not.
Day 2 action resumes on Monday at 1 PM, and they’ll play to a winner on Monday, alongside the final day of play in the Main Event and the final event of the series, the $250 Big 30 Stack. I likely won’t be watching the High Rollers much at all on Sunday, as Day 2 of the Main will be my main focus, but I should catch some of the endgame action on Monday after the Main Event ring is awarded.
