    Prizes:£121,485

Max Burney opened to 325,000 from the Button, and Siddharth Sudunagunta made the call from the Big Blind.

Sudunagunta checked the J2J flop, and Burney fired a 200,000 continuation bet. Sudunagunta swiftly raised to 700,000, and Burney made the call.

Sudunagunta continued on the aggressive path with a 1,500,000 bet on the 4 turn. After a minute’s worth of pondering, Burney moved all in for 5,400,000 in total. Sudunagunta made the call as fast as humanly possible.

    Max Burney: A6
    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 22

Burney was drawing dead, and the 9 river was dealt as a pure formality. Burney got £17,120 for his second-place finish thanks to the previously made deal.

    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 13,650,000
    Max Burney: 0

Max Burney and Siddharth Sudunagunta have agreed to a deal.

    Burney has locked up £17,120.

    Sudunagunta has locked up £16,390.

They will continue to play for £3,700, the title, and the coveted trophy.

  • Sudunagunta Edging the Gap

Max Burney made it 325,000 from the Button, and Siddharth Sudunagunta defended his Big Blind.

Both players checked the 658 flop. Sudunagunta dipped his toes in the waters with a 500,000 bet on the 10 turn, and Burney made the call. The dealer revealed the Q river, and Sudunagunta fired a massive, pot-sized 1,500,000 bet. This sent Burney into the tank, who folded after perhaps one minute’s worth of consideration.

Thanks to the stream, we know the players’ holdings.

    Siddharth Sudunagunta: A7
    Max Burney: K10

Decent bluff from Sudunagunta, blocking both the nut flush and the straight. Even though starting the heads-up with a considerable chip advanta,ge Sudunagunta has managed to close the gap somewhat.

    Max Burney: 8,000,000
    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 5,600,000

  • Andrew Teng Eliminated in 3rd Place (£10,630)

    Level 29:80,000/160,000 (160,000)
    Entries:2/273
    Prizes:£121,485

Being the smallest stack during three-handed play, Andrew Teng moved all in for 2,200,000 from the Small Blind. Chip leader Max Burney made the call from the Big Blind.

    Andrew Teng: K8
    Max Burney: A10

Burney was already ahead, and no help for Teng on the 364 board. Burney extended his lead on the 10 turn, and the 3 river couldn’t save Teng. The most merited player left in the field went out in third place for £10,630.

The stage is now set for a heads-up showdown between Burney and Siddharth Sudunagunta.

    Max Burney: 10,000,000
    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 3,200,000
    Andrew Teng: 0

  • George Achillea Eliminated in 4th Place (£8,670)

Action folded to Siddharth Sudunagunta in the Small Blind, who forced George Achillea all in for 855,000. Achillea peeked at his hole cards, then immediately made the call.

    Siddharth Sudunagunta: Q7
    George Achillea: AK

Achillea had the best hand, but Sudunagunta improved right from the get-go on the 7J8 flop. Achillea never managed to catch up on the 410 runout, and he bid farewell in fourth place for £8,670.

    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 3,300,000
    George Achillea: 0

  • Burney’s Burning For You

    Entries:4/273
    Prizes:£121,485

Action folded to Max Burney in the Small Blind, who decided just to limp. Siddharth Sudunagunta wouldn’t allow it; he made it 370,000 from the big Blind. Burney then came over the top and moved all in for 2,800,000, and Sudunagunta made the call swiftly. This pot was for half of the chips in play.

    Max Burney: 44
    Siddharth Sudunagunta: AQ

It was a classic coin flip confrontation, and whoever would emerge victorious would secure a solid chip lead. Sudunagunta was thrilled to see the Q in the window, but the other two cards on the flop were 43. Burney was way ahead with a flopped set; the 9 brought some possibilities for the two players to split the pot with a flush on the board, but ultimately, Burney sealed the deal on the J river.

    Max Burney: 5,900,000
    Siddharth: Sudunagunta: 2,300,000

  • Muhammad Khalil Eliminated in 5th Place (£7,100)

Short-stacked Muhammad Khalil moved all in for 450,000 UTG. Action folded to Siddharth Sudunagunta in the Big Blind. Sudunagunta peeked at his hole cards, shrugged his shoulders, and made the call.

    Muhammad Khalil: K9
    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 97

Khalil had Sudunagunta dominated, but Sudunagunta took a firm lead on the 784 flop. No dice for Khalil on the J5 runout, and he went out in fifth place for £7,100.

    Siddhart Sudunagunta: 5,400,000
    Muhammad Khalil: 0

The last hand before the break, Max Burnley min-raised to 200,000 UTG. Siddharth Sudunagunta then three-bet to 500,000 from the Cut-off, and action was now on Muhammad Khalil on the Button. Khalil eventually four-bet shoved for 2,700,000. Burnley folded, but Sidunagunta had an easy call.

    Muhammad Khalil: 99
    Siddharth Sudunagunta: AA

Against all odds, both players improved to a set on the A96 flop. No quads for Khalil on the 10K runout, and his stack reached critical conditions right before the break.

    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 4,870,000
    Muhammad Khalil: 415,000

UTG, Andrew Teng opened to 200,000. Siddharth Sudunagunta then three-bet shoved for 3,800,000. When action came back to Teng, he made the call for 1,900,000.

    Andrew Teng: AK
    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 88

Sudunagunta maintained his lead on the 32J flop. He was still ahead on the 2 turn. Momentum switched on the A river, though, and Teng survived yet another close encounter.

    Andrew Teng: 4,400,000
    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 1,700,000

Action folded to Max Burnley in the Small Blind, who forced Big Blind player Abdul Mukit all in for 815,000. Mukit made the call as fast as humanly possible.

    Max Burnley: K6
    Abdul Mukit: 88

Mukit was looking good for a double-up, but Burnley’s odds increased as he hit a pair of sixes on the A26 flop. The Q turn gave Burnley even more outs as he picked up a flush draw. Ultimately, he got there on the 7 river, sending Mukit to the rail in sixth place for £5,750.

    Max Burnley: 2,700,000
    Abdul Mukit: 0

Andrew Teng opened to 200,000 from the Hi-jack. Muhammad Khalil decided to defend his Big Blind.

Khalil fired a 225,000 donk-bet on the 637 flop. Teng made the call, and the dealer revealed the A turn. Action now went check-check, and on the K river, Khalil fired a 475,000 bet. Teng contemplated his decision for two minutes before making the call.

    Muhammad Khalil: A3
    Andrew Teng: 99

Khalil was stronger than Teng predicted, and Khalil claimed the chip lead.

    Muhammad Khalil: 3,900,000
    Andrew Teng: 1,800,000

  • Another Great Fold by Teng

Siddharth Sudunagunta min-raised to 200,000 from the Cut-off, and chip leader Andrew Teng made the call from the Big Blind.

Teng check-called a 100,000 bet from Sudunagunta on the 10K10 flop. Action repeated itself on the 7 turn, the only difference being that the sizing from Sudunagunta now was 375,000. Teng completed the check trifecta on the A river, and Sudunagunta swiftly moved all in for 1,700,000. After spending a few minutes in the tank, Teng folded his hand.

Thanks to the stream, we know what the players were holding. Siddharth Sudunagunta had moved all in with AA, and Teng mucked A2.

    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 3,200,000
    Andrew Teng: 2,800,000

Andrew Teng opened to 160,000 from the Hi-jack. Max Burnley then three-bet to 410,000 from the Cut-off. Action eventually came back to Teng, who studied his opponent thoroughly; Burnley was eating his chicken Caesar salad and seemed very relaxed. After a few minutes’ worth of consideration, Teng four-bet shoved for 1,500,000. Burnley contemplated his decision for a minute or two before making the call, having Teng covered.

    Andrew Teng: 88
    Max Burnley: 1010

Teng took off his glasses once he saw the bad news. “That gives him a few extra percent,” commentator Guy Taylor joked. Perhaps, he was right; Teng took a miracle lead on the K87 flop, and Burnley wasn’t able to catch up on the 75 runout. Teng, who’s arguably the most prominent player left in the field, claimed the chip lead after doubling through Burnley.

    Andrew Teng: 3,500,000
    Max Burnley: 2,300,000

Max Burney opened to 160,000 from the Cut-off before Muhammad Khalil forced his opponent all-in for 1,800,000 in total from the Big Blind. After a minute’s worth of consideration, Burney made the call.

    Muhammad Khalil: AQ
    Max Burney: 1010

It was a classic coin flip confrontation. As the board spelled out 2J446, Burney’s tens were good, and he became the new chip leader.

    Max Burney: 4,000,000
    Muhammad Khalil: 2,600,000

Abdul Mukit moved all in for 650,000 UTG. George Achillea three-bet to 1,300,000 from the Button; this was enough to scare the remaining contenders away, and soon enough, Mukit and Achillea went to showdown.

    Abdul Mukit: QJ
    George Achillea: AK

The K1010 flop was more or less scripted in Hollywood. The 2 turn brought Hitchcock-like suspense to the party, seeing as Mukit now also had a flush draw. He had many outs, and as he hit Broadway on the A river, he doubled through Achillea.

    George Achillea: 2,300,000
    Abdul Mukit: 1,400,000

  • Csaba Kovacs Eliminated in 7th Place (£4,660)

After an initial opening to 130,000 by Muhammad Khalil from the Cut-off, Csaba Kovacs moved all in for 985,000 from the Button. After the Blinds folded, Khalil had an easy call to make.

    Csaba Kovacs: AJ
    Muhammad Khalil: KK

It was a solid move by Kovacs, but the timing was unfortunate. There were some hopes for a runner-runner flush on the Q23 flop, but those chances vanished on the 6 turn. Kovacs needed an ace and an ace only; the river was the 4, and that ended Kovacs’ tournament life. For his seventh-place finish, he was awarded £4,660.

    Muhammad Khalil: 2,900,000
    Csaba Kovacs: 0

  • Emmanue Mulemwa Eliminated in 8th Place (£3,760)

George Achillea min-raised to 120,000 from the Cut-off. Seated in the Big Blind, Emmanuel Mulemwa was the sole caller.

Mulemwa wasted little time before donk-jamming for 870,000 on the 6J7 flop. Achillea made the call as fast as humanly possible.

    Emmanuel Mulemwa: QJ
    George Achillea: JJ

Far from a dream spot for Mulemwa, who was in dire need of a runner-runner in order to survive. No dice as the board completed with KQ, and he went to collect £3,760 for his eighth-place finish.

    George Achillea: 3,100,000
    Emmanuel Achillea: 0

  • Benjamin Liu Eliminated in 9th Place (£3,045)

Seated UTG +2, Andrew Teng min-raised to 120,000. Benjamin Liu three-bet to 310,000 from the Lo-jack, prior to Muhammad Khalil four-betting to 760,000. Teng swiftly mucked his hand; Liu moved all in for 845,000, and Khalil made the call.

    Benjamin Liu: JJ
    Muhammad Khalil: 1010

Khalil was in rough shape, especially considering the 10 was folded pre-flop (which we know thanks to the stream). Liu maintained his lead on the 3Q8 flop, and he was still unthreatened on the 4 turn. It would prove not to be Liu’s day, though; Khalil hit a set on his 10 miracle river. As such, Liu became the first casualty of the final table after more than four hours of play, earning £3,045 for his ninth-place finish.

    Muhammad Khalil: 1,900,000

Apologies for the lack of frequent updates, fellow poker enthusiasts. The live stream is currently offline due to bandwidth issues beyond the production team’s control. The broadcast should go live again in 20 minutes.

The truth is that the players are considerably deep, and with ICM being a vital part of the final table, there really hasn’t been that much action yet. As the blind levels progress, action should ramp up soon enough.

Action went check-check on the 278 flop, and on the 8 turn. Achillea bet 300,000 on the 6 river. This sent Teng into the tank, who eventually mucked his hand.

The stream has revealed the players’ holdings.

Teng check-called a 70,000 bet from Mulemwa on the Q46 river. Another check from Teng on the [invalid notations] turn prompted a 235,000 bet from Mulemwa. This sent Teng into the tank; he pondered for perhaps three minutes before moving all in for 550,000. Mulemwa eventually decided to let his hand go.

A few hands after his previous all-in move, Siddharta Sudunagunta (Small Blind) moved all in for 335,000 after an initial 60,000 opening from Benjamin Liu (Lo-jack). After Muhammad Khalil folded his Big Blind, Liu accepted the reasonable price and made the call.

    Siddharta Sudunagunta: A5
    Benjamin Liu: QJ

Sudunagunta was already ahead, but for good measure, he improved to a pair on the 825 flop. Momentum then shifted as Liu overtook the driver’s seat on the Q turn. “He’s going to have to do it the hard way,” the commentators said. The Poker Gods heard them; the dealer revealed the A on the river, and Sudunagunta survived the scare and received a full double-up at the expense of Liu.

UTG, Siddharth Sudunagunta moved all in for 320,000. The short stack didn’t get any callers. The stream suggests that he was praying for a call, considering his KK holdings.

Overall, the final table has gotten off to a somewhat slow start, with no significant hands.

    Siddharth Sudunagunta: 395,000

During one of the first hands of the final table, George Achillea opened to 65,000 from the Button. Seated in the Big Blind, Benjamin Liu was the sole caller.

Both players checked the 1067 flop. Liu dipped his toes in the waters with a 90,000 bet on the 6 turn, and Achillea made the call. On the 2 river, Liu bet 300,000.

Liu’s river bet sent Achillea deep, deep into the tank. Achillea considered his options for four whole minutes before folding.

    Johnson Kitete-Kikumba: 77

Unfortunately for Kitete-Kikumba, Khalil had picked up a really good hand. No help for pocket sevens on the 610323 board, and Kitete-Kikumba semi-bubbled the final table.

Muhammad Khalil opened to 90,000 from the Hi-jack. Benjamin Liu defended his Big Blind.

First to act, Liu checked the 102J flop, and Khalil continued for 100,000. After perhaps 20 seconds’ worth of consideration, Liu completed a check-raise to 280,000. Within a split-second, Khalil announced he was all-in for 980,000. Both players then rose from their chairs, staring at the board with gazes that could pierce the most solid diamond. “I can’t come tomorrow, that’s why I go all in,” Khalil joked, as Lie kept contemplating his decision. Eventually, he let his hand go.

“I show if you show,” Khalil offered his opponent. “Okay,” Liu responded.

    Muhammad Khalil: AK
    Benjamin Liu: 87

“Fudge!” Liu roared as he saw what he was up against. He then congratulated Khalil on the somewhat bald move, as Khalil was stacking his newly won chips.

This poker.pro live reporter became intrigued, and felt an urge to run the hand in a Poker Odds Calculator. 87 has 53,43 % in the scenario.

Abdul Mukit bet the minimum amount of 40,000 on the 8K6 flop. Naturally, Benson made the call.

    Abdul Mukit: JJ
    Joseph Benson: J10

    Siddharth Sudunagunta: AQ

Both players improved to a pair on the A2K flop, but Sudunagunta had a firm lead. Kitete-Kikumba rose from his chair, getting ready to exit the tournament area. The old trick never fails; he improved to trips on the 8K runout, and he doubled through Sudunagunta.

Burnley put out a 30,000 bet on the A39 flop, and Mukit made the call. Action repeated itself on the 6 turn, the only difference being that the sizing from Burnley now was 70,000. Burnley found a third barrel and bet 265,000 on the 3 river, a bet that Mukit snap-called.

    Max Burnley: 107
    Abdul Mukit: J5

Mukit had flopped a flush, and Burnley couldn’t compete. With his newly won chips, Mukit is now approaching 2,000,000.

Action folded to Ashley Brown in the Big Blind, who took a peek at his hole cards before committing his 250,000 stack to a call. A three-way showdown then, with Burney having both opponents well covered.

“That’s good for me,” Orhan said as he saw that his two opponents were blocking each other. That didn’t stop Burney from taking a solid lead on the Q79 flop, though. He left Brown drawing dead on the Q turn; Orhan was praying for a six on the river, but as the dealer revealed the K, Burney eliminated two players in one hand, and added chips to his already impressive stack.

The poker.pro live reporter missed a big hand that played out at Table 3. One of the players at the table, Johnson Kitete-Kikumba, was kind enough to share with me some of the details (I’m making up the suits for aesthetic reasons).

Abdul Mukit opened to 40,000 from the Button, and Matthew Tibbles three-bet to perhaps 100,000 from the Small Blind. Mukit made the call, and soon enough, the two contestants were heads-up to the flop.

Tibbles continued on the aggressive path with a 75,000 continuation bet on the J56 flop. Mukit made the call, and the dealer revealed the 9 on the river, bringing a flush draw to the board. Tibbles now moved all in for 360,000. This sent Mukit deep into the tank, who contemplated his decision for a long time. Eventually, he made the call.

    Matthew Tibbles: K10
    Abdul Mukit: 98

A sublime call by Mukit considering the circumstances. For good measure, he improved to two-pair on the 8 river. Tibbles was eliminated in twenty-eighth place for £1,000.

Mukit was looking good for a double-up. No nine or any other help for Clarke as the board spelled out AA237, and he lost the bigger chunk of his stack to Mukit.

Like a thick gravy on the stove, the plot thickens in the £500 Main Event. Each hand is becoming increasingly crucial at this stage, and it’s very evident that all players have entered laser-focus mode.

At Table 5, Max Burney min-raised to 32,000 from the Hi-jack. Patrice Brandt made it 106,000 from the Small Blind, and Burney eventually made the call.

First to act, Brandt checked the 548 flop. Burney dipped his toes in the waters with a 70,000 bet, and Brandt made the call. Brandt then took the initiative with a 65,000 bet on the A turn. Burney made the call, and the dealer turned over the 2 turn. After a check from Brandt, Burney bet 400,000, effectively forcing Brandt all in for what this poker.pro live reporter estimated to be 305,000.

One, two, three, four, five minutes went by. Brandt was deep in the tank, very much contemplating his decision. Eventually, Burney called the clock on his opponent, and a 30-second countdown began. During the said countdown, Brandt picked up his cards and did some sick moves, exposing the A for the reporter and others to see. Eventually, he mucked his hand, and Burney now plays over 1,000,000.

    Max Burney: 1,320,000
    Patrice Brandt: 305,000

Action folded to short-stacked Aaron Pointon, who open-shoved for 21,000 from the Cut-off. Seated in the Small Blind, the well-merited Philip Clarke inspected the stack of Mark Bennett (Big Blind), before putting in a 100,000 raise. Bennett swiftly folded; Pointon and Clarke turned over their cards.

    Aaron Pointon: A4
    Philip Clarke: 77

Pointon received some additional outs on the QKJ flop, and then he lost some outs on the 7 turn. In the end, Clarke sealed the deal on the 76 river. Pointon went out in thirty-fourth place for £1,000.

    Philip Clarke: 650,000
    Aaron Pointon: 0

Joseph Benson opened to 25,000 from the Button. Csaba Kovacs decided to defend his Big Blind.

Kovacs went for a 16,000 donk-bet on the 395 flop, and Benson decided to stick around. Kovacs kept the aggression going with a 30,000 bet on the Q turn, and was then faced with a 70,000 raise from Benson. After some consideration, Kovacs made the call.

Kovacs checked the 7 river; Benson seemed really tempted to move all in for 115,000. Ultimately, though, he checked back and revealed his AQ holdings for top-pair top-kicker. Kovacs acknowledged the winning hand and threw his own hole cards into the muck.

Action folded to Kristaps Kalva in the Small Button. He put in a fistful of purple 25,000 chips, effectively forcing Dara O’Kearny (Big Blind) all in for 38,000. O’Kearney peeked at his hole cards and then made the call without hesitation.

    Kristaps Kalva: 85
    Dara O’Kearney: Q7

O’Kearney was ever so slightly ahead, but Kalva was the one who benefited the most from the 758 flop. O’Kearney didn’t improve on the 1010 runout, and he was eliminated in thirty-eighth place for £1,000.

    Kristaps Kalva: 295,000

Roughly 30 minutes into hand-for-hand play, the floor announced one last hand would be played before the break. During this hand, action folded to short-stacked Kevin Ferrer, who open-shoved for 52,000. Seated in the Big Blind, Mark Ridley made the call; considering he would be left with 49,000 if he lost the hand, you got the feeling he had a decent hand. Soon enough, the two contestants got the green light to reveal their holdings.

    Kevin Ferrer: A4
    Mark Ridley: 88

Ridley was ahead, but Ferrer could still hit an ace or other shenanigans. Both players picked up a straight draw on the QJ10 flop. Ridley hit his draw on the 9, and received an additional flush draw. Things weren’t looking good for Ferrer, and ultimately, he became the unfortunate bubble boy, as the Q ended his tournament life.

With that, the remaining 41 players are now all in the money, guaranteed a £1,000 min-cash. They are on a break, and the poker.pro editorial office will soon return with the chip counts of the biggest stacks.

    Mark Ridley: 168,000

Csaba Kovacs opened to 22,000 from the Hi-jack. Robert Robb made the call from the Button, and soon enough, the two contestants were heads-up to the flop.

Kovacs check-called a 30,000 bet from Robb on the 8QJ flop. Action repeated itself on the 6 turn, the only difference being that the sizing from Robb was now 50,000. Kovacs bet 41,000 on the 9 river, and Robb made the call.

    Csaba Kovacs: KK
    Robert Robb: AA

Kovacs lost a considerable pot, but, to be honest, he should be grateful all the chips didn’t go in the middle pre-flop. He dodged a bullet, and hand-for-hand on the bubble continues.

    Robert Robb: 600,000
    Csaba Kovacs: 221,000

On the 47K flop, Clarke check-called a 15,000 bet from Hardman. Action repeated itself on the 5 turn, the only difference being that the sizing from Hardman now was 55,000. Both players checked the 5 river.

    Philip Clarke: Q7
    Josh Hardman: K10

With the superior pair, Hardman claimed the pot.

Bean relieved a heavy sigh as McKinlay turned over 23. Bean folded his hand and lost some chips to McKinlay.

Muhammad Khalil min-raised to 12,000 UTG. Malcolm McKinlay (Small Blind) and Alexander Georgiev (Big Blind) both made the call.

All three players checked the 883 flop. After another check from McKinlay on the 5 turn, Georgiev bet 24,000. Khalil snap-called before McKinlay let his hand go.

Georgiev bet 25,000 on the 6 river. After perhaps one minute’s worth of pondering, Khalil made the call.

Georgiev revealed his 1010 holdings, which were enough to take down the pot, seeing as Khalil threw his hand into the muck. It’s an educated guess Georgiev is hungry for redemption, seeing as he finished second in the £150 Mini Main Event yesterday.

Khodiyara continued his aggression with an 18,000 bet on the 4J7 flop, and Teng made the call. Action went check-check on the K, before Khodiyara sized up to 40,000 on the K river. This sent Teng into the tank, and he considered his options for perhaps three minutes before making the call.

Khodiyara turned over AK; Teng acknowledged the winning hand, as the dealer pushed the pot to Khodiyara.

With only 46 players remaining, the bubble is approaching at a rapid pace.

    Alexander Georgiev: KQ
    John Leslie: QJ

Georgiev was looking good to double up once again, but today just wasn’t his day. Leslie hit a jack on the J93 flop, and Georgiev wasn’t able to catch up on the 42 runout. Alexander Georgiev finished in second place for £7,420.

John Leslie moved all in for 7,000,000 from the Button. Alexander Georgiev made the call from the Big Blind.

    John Leslie: J5
    Alexander Georgiev: A9

Georgiev took a solid lead on the A72 flop. The J turn kept Leslie alive, and he scored a remarkable comeback on the 5 river. He survived, and now, it’s Georgiev who’s once again down to 4,000,000.

Alexander Georgiev limped the Button, and John Leslie checked from the Big Blind.

Leslie took the aggressive initiative with a 400,000 bet on the 523 flop, and Georgiev made the call. Leslie continued for 800,000 on the 2 turn. Again, Georgiev decided to stick around.

Leslie fired a third barrel on the 9 river. After some consideration, Georgiev made the call.

    John Leslie: 102
    Alexander Georgiev: J5

The “Doyle Brunson” got the job done for Leslie, and he once again got his opponent down to 10 Big Blinds.

Leslie picked up a straight draw on the 109J, but the 59 runout secured Georgiev the full double-up.

    John Leslie: Q9
    Alexander Georgiev: A8

Georgiev rose from his chair, hopeful that this was going to be his moment. It was Leslie who smashed the KQ7 flop though, and the turned Goergiev dead on Q. The 3 river didn’t change anything, and Leslie doubled up.

Alexander Georgiev limped from the Button, and John Leslie checked.

Action went check-check on the 8A2 flop. The action repeated itself on the 3 turn, and then once again on the 9 river.

    John Leslie: AA
    Alexander Georgiev: Q3

Georgiev chuckled as Leslie revealed pocket aces for at least the fourth time during the final table.

John Leslie attempted to limp from the Button, but Alexander Georgiev wouldn’t allow it, as he raised to 925,000 from the Big Blind. Leslie made the call.

Action went check-check on the 52K flop. Georgiev bet 1,000,000 on the 7 turn, and Leslie made the call. The river was the A, and after perhaps 20 seconds’ worth of pondering, Georgiev forced his opponent all in for 4,300,000. Leslie wasted little time before folding.

Thanks to the stream, we know that Leslie missed his straight draw with 64, while Georgiev’s holdings were JJ.

First to act, Alexander Georgiev limped, and John Leslie checked from the Big Blind.

Leslie check-called a 250,000 bet from Georgiev on the 1048 flop. Action then went check-check on the 7 turn. The river was the 9, and Leslie now decided to bet 700,000. Georgiev then raised to 2,000,000, just to be faced with a 5,000,000 re-raise from Leslie.

Georgiev went into the tank and considered the situation. After perhaps two minutes’ worth of pondering, he made the call.

    John Leslie: A6
    Alexander Georgiev: J8

It was a good bluff with the nut blocker from Leslie, but an even more sublime call from Georgiev. He won the considerable pot, and is now the chip leader.

    John Leslie: 76
    Edin Hrnjic: AJ

The 6910 flop brought all kinds of excitement to the party. Hrnjic was still ahead on the 2 turn, but, in the end, Leslie hit a flush on the 8 river. Red Aces in particular have been working great for Leslie lately, and he eliminated Hrnjic in third place for £4,420.

The stage is now set for a heads-up battle between Leslie and Alexander Georgiev, where the former holds a commanding chip lead. However, it can all turn around any second.

John Leslie clicked it to 500,000 from the Button. Edin Hrnjic decided to call from the Big Blind.

First to act on the 384 flop, Hrnjic elected to check. Leslie continued for 250,000, and was faced with an 800,000 raise from Hrnjic. Leslie made the call fairly swiftly.

Hrnjic bet 1,100,000 on the Q turn. Leslie now forced his opponent all in for an additional 1,500,000. Hrnjic sighed heavily before letting his hand go.

Thanks to the stream, we know what the players were holding. Hrnjic had hit a pair on the flop with K4, and – would you believe it – Leslie had, for the third time in perhaps 10 minutes, picked up AA.

    Emmanuel Mulemwa: Q2
    John Leslie: AA

What a life for Leslie, who picked up pocket aces for the second time in the last five minutes. Just to put salt in Mulemwa’s wounds, Leslie improved to a set on the A32 flop. No miracle for Mulemwa on the QJ, and he was eliminated in fourth place for £3,430. Leslie now has a commanding chip lead.

    Emmanuel Mulemwa: A8
    John Leslie: AA

Not an ideal scenario for Mulemwa. Leslie’s aces were good on the 93KQ9 board, and he’s now playing half of the chips in play while Mulemwa is the new short stack.

    John Leslie: QJ

Georgiev was looking good to double up once again, but today just wasn’t his day. Leslie hit a jack on the J93 flop, and Georgiev wasn’t able to catch up on the 42 runout. Alexander Georgiev finished in second place for £7,420.

    Alexander Georgiev: A9

Georgiev took a solid lead on the A72 flop. The J turn kept Leslie alive, and he scored a remarkable comeback on the 5 river. He survived, and now, it’s Georgiev who’s once again down to 4,000,000.

    John Leslie: AA
    Alexander Georgiev: Q3

Georgiev chuckled as Leslie revealed pocket aces for at least the fourth time during the final table.

Edin Hrnjic moved all in UTG for 1,100,000. Action folded to John Leslie, who re-shoved for 1,900,000 from the Small Blind. Alexander Georgiev swiftly folded his Big Blind; Hrnjic and Leslie went to showdown, with Hrnjic being the payer at risk.

    Edin Hrnjic: KJ
    John Leslie: 99

Leslie was ever so slightly ahead, and he maintained his lead on the 67Q flop. Hrnjic was pleased to pair his king on the K turn, and the 3 river didn’t see a disruption in his momentum. He doubled through Leslie, who’s now the short stack.

    Edin Hrnjic: 2,400,000

Oliver Grice opened to 250,000 from the Cut-off. Seated in the Big Blind, Emmanuel Mulemwa made the call.

Mulemwa check-called a 255,000 bet from Grice on the 1024 flop. Mulemwa then decided to take the lead on the 9 turn with a hefty 1,300,000 bet. This sent Grice into the tank; he counted his chips, considered his options, and then moved all in for 2,300,000 in total. Mulemwa made the call as fast as humanly possible.

    Oliver Grice: 66
    Emmanuel Mulemwa: 109

One has to be thinking that Grice put Mulemwa on a draw, but that was not the case. Grice was now trailing, and no case six on the 3 river. As such, Grice was eliminated in sixth place. For his achievement, he was awarded £2,030.

The first hand after the first break of the day, short-stacked Djamel Aoun moved all in for 460,000 from the Button. John Leslie made the call from the Small Blind, and Alexander Georgiev decided to defend his Big Blind.

Leslie and Georgiev both checked the Q9J flop. After another check from Leslie on the 6 turn, Georgiev put out a 300,000 bet. Leslie decided to make the call, and the dealer revealed the 10 on the river. Both players decided to check it down.

    Djamel Aoun: 33
    John Leslie: KJ
    Alexander Georgiev: Q10

Not only did Leslie win the small side pot with his rivered straight, but he also sent Aoun to the rail. For his seventh-place finish, Aoun got £1,540.

The very next hand after losing almost his entire stack, Djamel Aoun moved all in for 150,000 from UTG+1. John Leslie three-bet to 375,000 from the Hi-jack, and seeing as the remaining players folded, the two contestants tabled their hole cards.

    Djamel Aoun: Q8
    John Leslie: AJ

Leslie maintained his lead on the 7410 flop, but a lucky 8 turn saw Aoun taking over the driver’s seat. Leslie had many outs, including a flush draw, but Aoun secured the pot on the 4 river.

    John Leslie: AQ

Leslie was in rough shape, but he took a firm lead on the 6J10 flop. “A black king would kill the action,” the commentators said on stream, seconds before the dealer revealed the K on the turn. No chops for Aoun on the 9 river, and the bigger chunk of his stack went to Leslie.

Alexander Georgiev opened to 225,000 from the Lo-jack. Edin Hrnjic (Cut-off) and Daniel Stoica (Button) both called before Ryan Hetherington moved all in for roughly 900,000 from the Small Blind. Action came back to Georgiev, who re-shoved for 3,200,000. This was enough to scare the rest of the competition away, and soon enough, the two contestants went to showdown.

    Ryan Hetherington: AJ
    Alexaner Georgiev: K10

Hetherington was ever so slightly ahead, but Georgiev took the lead on the K42. The Bulgarian secured the win on the K turn, and as the 5 river couldn’t change the outcome, Hetherington bid farewell in eighth place for £1,260.

    Lee Mulligan: AK
    Daniel Stoica: AA

Unfortunate from Mulligan, who’d just got some air under his wings. The Q478J offered no help to Mulligan, who became the first casualty of the final table. He received £1,040 for his ninth-place finish.

Aoun continued with a 125,000 bet on the 233 flop. Grice made the call, and the dealer revealed the K turn. Aoun continued for 135,000, and Grice made the call once again.

Aoun slowed down and checked the 7 river. Grice overtook the driver’s seat with a hefty 620,000 bet. Aoun swiftly folded.

  • Sheffield Stop: Putting the Party into Poker

Poker in the City by Pino

Sheffield greets you in grey. Rain in the air, pavements shining, the city in full winter mode. But the moment you step inside Genting Casino and make your way toward the poker room, everything changes. You are hit with a burst of orange, smiling faces, hugs, pats on the back, and that instant sense of recognition that feels distinctive to what the PartyPoker Tour is all about.

Richard Brown is a familiar face among them. He has been at almost every Party Poker event, travelling miles and sometimes crossing the Scottish border to be there. What brings him back is the feeling of grounding. These events turn usernames into people and hands into handshakes. I asked him what he would change about the tour. His answer was simple. A steady supply of Irn Bru for those long days at the tables. Can this be arranged?

Luke Bird’s story captures another side of what makes these events work. For him, the PartyPoker Tour stands out for making buy ins genuinely accessible, turning live poker into something welcoming and attainable rather than exclusive. It is working man’s poker in the best sense of the phrase. Friendly tables, familiar faces, and a community that makes it easy to walk in, sit down, and feel part of it straight away.

That same pull brought Carey Hollick to Sheffield. She came hoping to meet someone she admired from afar, a player she had only ever watched online, Jamie Staples. You know the saying about not meeting your heroes. This was very much the exception.

That same energy spilled over at the pub quiz last night, which saw the biggest turnout yet. The room was packed and the atmosphere was popping, thanks in no small part to the showmanship of Glenn Brown, the one and only, who kept spirits high and the room buzzing during the dinner break. Normally the talk would be about folding, bubbles, and winning hands. This time it was soup ingredients, swimming strokes, and the latest podcasts. There were winners here too.

This Sheffield stop was, of course, all about poker. But there was also space for warmth in unlikely places, for connection, and for the moment an online world becomes unmistakably real.

After Zhongming Liao went out in eleventh place for £860 on the TV table with Aces against Kings, the floor announced soft hand-for-hand play would commence.

Farida Ahmed was the smallest stack with 10 players remaining, and UTG, she moved all in for 390,000. John Leslie made the call from the Cut-off, and soon, the two contestants were heads-up to the flop.

    Farida Ahmed: 109
    John Leslie: A5

Ahmed had two live cards, but she had no fate. After the 6K5, she rose from her chair and started to put on her winter coat, her scarf, and her bag. She had practically left the table before the 66 runout. As her gut feeling was right, she finished in tenth place for £860.

That wraps up Day 2 of the £150 Mini Main Event. The nine remaining players will return tomorrow at 15:00 for the final table. The final table will be live-streamed with a 30-minute delay on PartyPoker’s YouTube channel, and the poker.pro live blog will follow all the action (also on delay, so that it doesn’t spoil anything on the stream).

With that, this poker.pro live reporter extends his gratitude to everyone who’s been following along with the blog today. The final table chip counts and seat draw will soon be uploaded; that is also the case with the chip counts from Day 1a of the £500 Main Event. The side event results will be uploaded in the morning.

Thanks again, and see you all tomorrow at 15:00.

    Brian Frew: AJ
    Edin Hrnjic: K10

Frew maintained his lead on the 347 flop, but Hrnjic took the driver’s seat on the K turn. The 7 river didn’t help Frew, and he was eliminated in thirteenth place for £720. While the live blog has been focusing solely on the tables that aren’t live-streamed, one hand went down at the TV table that we absolutely need to get on the blog. It played out 30 minutes ago.

Emmanuel Mulemwa min-raised to 80,000 from the Cut-off. The well-merited Oliver Hutchins then moved all in for 615,000 from the Small Blind. Action folded back to Mulemwa, who made the call without hesitation, having Hutchins covered.

    Oliver Hutchins: JJ
    Emmanuel Mulemwa: KK

Hutchins was in rough shape, but what was about to follow would create a buzz throughout Genting Casino Sheffield. Hutchins absolutely smashed the JJK flop, and Mulemwa was looking for one card and one card only. The Poker Gods heard his prayers, and he secured a quads-over-quads win on the K turn. The 6 river was dealt as a pure formality, before Hutchins headed for the payout desk, collecting £540 for his twentieth-place finish. What a brutal hand.

Action folded to Muhammad Khalil in the Small Blind, who forced Johnson Kitete-Kikumba (Big Blind) all in for 460,000. Kitete-Kikumba peeked at his hole cards, then instantly made the call.

    Muhammad Khalil: KK
    Johnson Kitete-Kikumba: 77

Unfortunately for Kitete-Kikumba, Khalil had picked up a really good hand. No help for pocket sevens on the 610323 board, and Kitete-Kikumba semi-bubbled the final table.

    Muhammad Khalil: 2,390,000
    Johnson Kitete-Kikumba: 0

    Muhammad Khalil: 1,500,000
    Benjamin Liu: 1,200,000

Seated on the Button, Joseph Benson made it 355,000, leaving one sole 5,000 chip behind. Abdul Mukit made the call from the Small Blind, and the two contestants went to the flop.

Abdul Mukit bet the minimum amount of 40,000 on the 8K6 flop. Naturally, Benson made the call.

    Abdul Mukit: JJ
    Joseph Benson: J10

Benson was in dire need of a runner-runner, and he was drawing dead on the 8 turn. After the ceremonial 4 river, he went to collect his £1,940 paycheck.

    Abdu Mukit: 1,750,000
    Joseph Benson: 0

Johnson Kitete-Kikumba moved all in for 400,000 from the Button. Siddharth Sudunagunta made the call from the Small Blind, and soon enough, the two contestants were heads-up to the flop.

    Johnson Kitete-Kikumba: KJ
    Siddharth Sudunagunta: AQ

Both players improved to a pair on the A2K flop, but Sudunagunta had a firm lead. Kitete-Kikumba rose from his chair, getting ready to exit the tournament area. The old trick never fails; he improved to trips on the 8K runout, and he doubled through Sudunagunta.

    Johnson Kitete-Kikumba: 860,000
    Siddhart Sudunagunta: 820,000

    Joseph Benson: 108
    Abdul Mukit: A4

The board spelled out Q64109, and Benson’s tournament life was extended.

Action folded to Max Burnley, who limped from the Small Blind. Abdul Mukit (Big Blind) allowed it and checked; two big stacks went to the flop.

On the six-handed table, Deniz Orhan moved all in for 455,000 from the Hi-jack. Max Burney then re-shoved for perhaps 1,200,000 from the Cut-off. Action folded to Ashley Brown in the Big Blind, who took a peek at his hole cards before committing his 250,000 stack to a call. A three-way showdown then, with Burney having both opponents well covered.

    Deniz Orhan: 66
    Max Burney: AQ
    Ashley Brown: AK

“That’s good for me,” Orhan said as he saw that his two opponents were blocking each other. That didn’t stop Burney from taking a solid lead on the Q79 flop, though. He left Brown drawing dead on the Q turn; Orhan was praying for a six on the river, but as the dealer revealed the K, Burney eliminated two players in one hand, and added chips to his already impressive stack.

    Max Burney: 2,000,000
    Deniz Orhan: 0

    Benjamin Liu: A6

Bennett had Liu dominated, but it was Liu who took the lead on the 746 flop. Bennett wasn’t able to reclaim the driver’s seat as the board completed with 34, and he went out in twenty-fourth place for £1,150.

    Abdul Mukit: 1,060,000

There’ll be a lot more of Diaz this year, seeing as he resides in Spain; PartyPoker have announced two stops in the sunny country this year: Seville and Madrid.

    Abdul Mukit: JJ
    Philip Clarke: 99

Kovacs went for a 16,000 donk-bet on the 395 flop, and Benson decided to stick around. Kovacs kept the aggression going with a 30,000 bet on the Q turn, and was then faced with a 70,000 raise from Benson. After some consideration, Kovacs made the call.

Kovacs checked the 7 river; Benson seemed really tempted to move all in for 115,000. Ultimately, though, he checked back and revealed his AQ holdings for top-pair top-kicker. Kovacs acknowledged the winning hand and threw his own hole cards into the muck.

    Csaba Kovacs: KK
    Robert Robb: AA

Kovacs lost a considerable pot, but, to be honest, he should be grateful all the chips didn’t go in the middle pre-flop. He dodged a bullet, and hand-for-hand on the bubble continues.

Christopher Bean opened to 16,000 from the Cut-off. Malcolm McKinlay decided to defend his Big Blind.

McKinlay check-called a 12,000 continuation bet from Bean on the 226 flop. Action went check-check on the 6 turn, before McKinlay fired a 45,000 bet on the A river.

    Muhammad Khalil: 695,000
    Alexander Georgiev: 655,000

Hasmukh Khodiyara opened to 12,000 from the Lo-jack. Andrew Teng decided to call from the Button, and they were soon heads-up to the flop.

After an initial check from Billups, O’Kearney bet 12,000 on the 742 flop. Billups then raised to 31,000, and it didn’t take long before O’Kearny moved in for perhaps 130,000. Billups folded as fast.

Achillea check-called a 23,000 bet from Kovacs on the 105K flop. Action repeated itself on the 3 turn, the only difference being that the bet from Kovacs was now 27,000. The dealer revealed the 8 on the river, and Achillea now took over the aggression with a 40,000 bet. Kovacs leaned back in his chair, and his body language signaled, “What a runout.” Eventually, he flicked in the chips for a call.

Achillea turned over 105 for a full house, and Kovacs acknowledged the winning hand.

After an initial check from Bennett on the 3J3 flop, Liu continued for 10,000. Bennett completed a check-raise to 28,000; after inspecting his opponent’s stack, Liu settled for a call.

Action went check-check on the K turn, and on the 6 river.

    Mark Bennett: 22
    Benjamin Liu: 88

Liu once again had the best hand, and he maintained his big stack.

Hancock then moved all in for roughly 130,000, and O’Shea also committed his 41,000 stack to make the call. Georgiev folded before Mulemwa snap-called.

    Dale Hancock: JJ
    Barry O’Shea: JJ
    Emmanuel Mulemwa: AA

This was far from ideal for Hancock and O’Shea. The 69727 runout featured no threat to Mulemwa’s aces, and he sent two players to the rail.

The chip leader going into Day 2, Benjamin Liu, opened to 9,000 UTG. Mark Elliott (Cut-off) and Timothy Chung (Small Blind) both made the call before Alex Whitenstall moved all in for 58,000 from the Big Blind. Liu re-shoved for roughly 1,000,000, and that scared the remaining players away.

    Alex Whitenstall: K10
    Benjamin Liu: A9

Both players improved to a pair on the K5A flop. Whitenstall didn’t improve any further on the 72 runout, and as he hit the rail, Liu extended his chip lead even further.

Seated on the same table is the newest addition to the team of PartyPoker Tour Ambassadors, Daniel Diaz. He and Joe “The Elegance” Beevers were the only two ambassadors who made it through to Day 2.

    George Achillea: AK

Achillea had the best hand, but Sudunagunta improved right from the get-go on the 7J8 flop. Achillea never managed to catch up on the 410 runout, and he bid farewell in fourth place for £8,670.

Top of the morning (or afternoon) to you, fellow poker enthusiasts. It’s the final day of the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Sheffield, and today’s schedule features the raffling conclusion of the £500 Main Event.

What a week it has been at Genting Casino Sheffield, and it’s destined to wrap up in stellar fashion. At 14:00, the final table of the flagship tournament will kick off, with nine players competing for the £22,400 first-place payout.

The final table will be live-streamed on PartyPoker’s YouTube channel with a 30-minute delay. The poker.pro live coverage will follow the delay; no spoilers here. In other words, both the broadcast and the live blog will commence around 14:30.

Below are the remaining payouts the players are competing for, as well as the seat draw, including chip counts and some information gathered from the various players’ profiles on The Hendon Mob.
