Georgios Gializis Wins First Trophy in Big Bounty

They played down to the final table pretty quickly in this one, but the final few eliminations took quite a while to work through. They played for a couple of levels three-handed before Gializis sent 3rd-place John Phan to the rail. That got him heads up against DJ Sharma, who was heads up for the second time in two nights here on the PPT.

He was still at a disadvantage, however, as Sharma had largely run over the table to that point. He collected 13 bounties (Gializis had 11, including his own, at the end) and was 2:1 up on Gializis when heads up began and Gializis wasn’t able to make much headway until a huge all-in cooler saw him flop a set of fours against Sharma’s ace-queen. That gave him a huge double and left Sharma on around 200k.

He chipped back up to a million with aggressive play, but his time ran out when he blind shoved and Gializis woke up with a premium, ace-ten of hearts. The money was in, and Gializis spiked aces full to cap Sharma’s threes full.
