While the opening day begins with a restricted-entry game for Seniors only, the entire field will still get a shot at a PPT trophy on Thursday. Event #2: $340 NLH/PLO Mixed ($300 + $40) kicks off at 4 PM with entry open to all, and action switching between two cards and four cards every level.
Players sit down with 25k in chips for 30-minute levels, with late entry and rebuys open until about 8:30, at the start of Level 9. After that, it will be a race down to the finish for this one-day event.
In May, newcomer Zachary York, brother of the more familiar Skyler York, broke through for his first PPT trophy in Event #2. He won over 81 entries for almost $7,400, but lots of other dangerous players will likely be jumping into this one, including ring winner in this discipline, Julius Roque, and local PLO reg Stefan Maloney, among others.
Alek Gillies will be handling the reporting duties on opening day as I try my hand in the Seniors game. If that goes poorly, I may jump into this one later as well.
