Europe’s most popular mid-stakes festival is back this fall for its 10th anniversary. From October 28 to November 5, the Battle of Malta will take over Casino Malta and the Intercontinental Hotel in St. Julian’s, bringing together recreational players and seasoned pros for nine days of non-stop poker action.
This year’s Autumn Edition will put a record €2 million in guarantees on the line, including €1.5 million for the Main Event alone — the biggest single guarantee in the series’ history and a fitting way to celebrate a decade of BOM tournaments.
Main Event Format and Flights
The Main Event keeps the format that made it famous: nine Day 1 flights split between five full-priced €600 entries and four evening half-priced €300 flights.
The €600 flights give players a 40,000 starting stack and 40-minute levels, while the €300 flights offer 20,000 chips with 20-minute levels. Players can fire as many bullets as they want, and everyone who makes it through Day 1 is already in the money.
To sweeten the deal, the top three chip leaders in each €600 flight will win a package to the 2026 Spring Battle of Malta worth €1,500, and the chip leader in each €300 flight will also take home a package.
In April, Poland’s Adrian Ziemichod captured the Battle of Malta Spring Edition Main Event title, topping a 1,542-entry field to win €120,000. The event generated a €802,140 prize pool, drawing players from across the globe. Ziemichod sealed the victory by defeating American Rob Perelman heads-up, adding the biggest score of his career to date.
Festival Highlights
While the €1.5 million Main Event is the crown jewel, the rest of the schedule delivers something for everyone. The action kicks off with the Mystery Siege of Malta Bounty, which comes with a €100,000 guarantee, and continues with a mix of No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha in both 4-card and 5-card formats, and fast-paced HyperTurbo events.
There’s also a €1,100 High Roller with €300,000 guaranteed, an ACR Ladies Event, an ACR Super High Roller, and a variety of mixed-game tournaments including HORSE and 8-Game. Daily satellites and step tournaments make it easy to win your way into the bigger buy-ins without breaking the bank.
