As 2025 draws to a close, European players will be sending out the old year in Liechtenstein. From Dec 26 – 29, Grand Casino Liechtenstein, , powered by poker-trip.de, will host the Winter Festival with CHF 150,000 in guaranteed prizes (~€160,500).
Subtitled Bounty Hunter Days, the Winter Festival will be heavy on the knockout poker, with the Main Event playing out in the unusual progressive knockout (PKO) format. While PKO games are common in online poker, they are logistically quite challenging for casino staff in live events, so they tend to be less common on the live felt.
Two of the eight games across the schedule will play in the progressive style, with the rest of the schedule heavy in traditional bounty play. Outside of satellite events, only 2 of the 8 games have no bounty component.
Post-Christmas Poker
The period between Christmas and New Year’s can be a traditionally lazy time for a lot of people. Perhaps the most unique element of the Bounty Hunter Days at the Winter Festival is the format of the Main Event. As mentioned, PKO games are rare enough in the live world to be notable in themselves, but it’s even more rare to see a Main Event running with progressive bounties.
Main Event bounties will start at CHF 80, but the progressive format means that when a player takes an initial bounty, they’ll get CHF 40 in their pocket immediately, while CHF 40 will be added to their bounty for a total of CHF 120. By the end of the night, the final few players are likely to have some eye-watering bounties on their heads, rivalling the top prizes in total value. With CHF 100k guaranteed, the Main Event will be handing out some pretty big prizes on Dec 29.

The other big game on the schedule is Mayomans High Roller. This one-day event is the biggest buy-in on the schedule, with the second-biggest guarantee at CHF 30k, and is only one of two games in the festival to be played without any bounty component. The High Roller action will be running alongside Day 1a of the Main Event on Dec 27.
BHD XMas Special & Barista Rebel Cup Guarantee CHF 10k Each
Outside of the high roller and Main Event, there are two other games in the series with guarantees, both promising prize pools of at least CHF 10k. The BHD XMas Special opens the Winter Festival on Dec 26 at 5 PM, and the CHF 190 game is the other progressive game of the series featuring a starting bounty of CHF 60.
At the other end of the schedule, the CHF 200 Barista Rebel Cup is one of the series’ closers, running at 3 PM on Dec 29, alongside the final day’s Main Event action. The BRC is the second game on the schedule to be played with no bounty component whatsoever.
Add in unique formats like the Crazy Pineapple Bounty on Dec 28, and the series closer, a NLH/PLO Mix game with flat bounties of CHF 20, and the Bounty Hunter Days ends up as one of the most unique schedules on the calendar to end the year.
