Lee & Fan Grab First Trophies of 2026

The opening day is complete, and the first two trophies of 2026 have now been awarded. Locals Francis Fan and Jimmy Lee were the winners from Thursday’s action, with Fan taking down the Seniors and Lee crushing Event #2.

Francis Fan Wins Seniors Trophy

  • Entries: 133
  • Prizes: $37,905
  • Winner: Francis Fan ($10,174)

The Seniors game saw a solid turnout with 133 entries by the time registration closed after the dinner break. Yours truly was responsible for 2 of those, with no results.

Francis Fan, on the other hand, went on a tear to make it through the 133 entries to score the trophy and the biggest share of the nearly $38k in prizes. Fan brought the biggest stack to the final table, about twice the chips of 2nd & 3rd, Nicholas Milkovich and Jeff Clarke.

He was content to let others do the early work, but once Milkovich sent Loretta Manley to the rail for 6th place, Fan took over, eliminating the rest of the field to secure his trophy. This was Fan’s 11th live win, and 5th PPT trophy, but his first of the new design that was introduced in 2025. The win should put him up to around $545k in total live earnings.

Jimmy Lee Wins 4th PPT Trophy in Event #2

  • Entries: 118
  • Prizes: $33,630
  • Winner: Jimmy Lee ($9,361)

The side game on opening day was the First Chance NLH game. The $340 game drew 118 entries for prizes of more than $33k.

Jimmy Lee put on a clinic at the end, taking out 5 of the final 7 players at the FT to secure the win. Adam Mill was leading as they got into the money, with Lee close behind, but when they got down to 6 remaining, it was nearly all Lee.

Varan Sidhu sent Michael Bingham home for 7th place before Lee sent Shane Hall and Gerald Cung out in 6th place & 5th place, respectively. Mill did the work against Steve Azizi for 4th place, before Lee took over and finished the job.

He scored a huge double against Mill, then sent Varan Sidhu home for 3rd place. That put Lee & Mill heads up, with Lee finishing the job just before 2 AM. This was Lee’s 11th live win, and 4th PPT trophy.
