After a three-way deal was reached, it was Austria’s Daniel Thaller who walked away with the trophy, outlasting the UK’s Timothy Chung and Cyprus’ Andreas Mavromoustakis in three-handed play. Thaller secured the largest share of the prize pool with $786,670, while Mavromoustakis took home $651,080, and Chung collected $637,250.
This is by far Thaller’s best career result, surpassing his previous high of $46,750 for finishing runner-up in the $5,300 Merit Classic back in 2021, held not far from this very venue. With five of his nine recorded Hendon Mob cashes coming from Cyprus, it’s safe to say that this Mediterranean island is his favorite place to play poker.

2025 MMP Main Event Final Table Recap
Italo Modena from Italy was the first one to face elimination at the final table. He shoved from HJ and got called by Timothy Chung in SB. Modena had K♠9♥ and was dominated by Chung’s K♥Q♥. The board ran 5♠3♥J♠A♣K♣ without any nines in sight, and Moden was out in ninth place for $63,000.

Hassanin Hashim was next in trouble after he found himself in the same situation as Modena. He shoved from HJ and got called by Chung in SB. Hashim was in better shape than Modena with his A♣Q♦ against Hashim’s 8♠8♦, but the board ran 9♦7♠6♠4♥J♦, ending the road for Hashim in eighth place for $80,100.

Chung continued to wipe the smiles off people’s faces after he opened the EP, Milad Oghabian Langar shoved from BB, and Chung called. This time, Chung was dominated with his A♦4♣ against Langar’s A♥Q♣, at least until the flop Q♥4♥4♠ came and turned things in Chung’s favor.
The turn was J♠, and the river came 3♦, eliminating Langar in seventh place for $113,000.

Dawid Smolka was the next elimination after he shoved from BB over Chung’s CO open and got called. Smolka had A♣2♥ and was behind Chung’s A♥9♣. The board ran 9♥5♦6♠2♦6♣ and Smolka was one deuce short of surviving, ending his run in sixth place for $162,000.

Garik Tamasian was out in fifth place after Andreas Mavromoustakis called his BTN shove from BB. Tamasian had K♥7♠ and was in bad shape against Mavromoustakis’s 9♦9♣. The board ran 8♠J♠10♦8♦3♠, sealing the deal for Tamasian, who won $229,000.

Razvan Sabau shoved from BTN with A♠9♣ and got called by Mavromoustakis in BB with Q♦J♣. The flop 9♦9♠K♣ looked great for Sabau, giving him trips, and he only had to avoid a ten. The turn was 7♦ and the river was 10♥, which gave straight to Mavromoustakis and sent Sabau to the rail in fourth place for $316,000.

After the deal was made, Andreas Mavromoustakis shoved from the BTN, and Daniel Thaller called from BB. Thaller was ahead with A♥7♥ against K♦J♠ and the board ran 8♦2♠3♠7♦Q♥ without any help for Mavromoustakis, who was out in third place for $651,080.

The Heads-Up

At the start of the heads-up, Daniel Thaller had a chip lead of 2.5:1 over Timothy Chung, but nothing was done yet, as both players had enough chips to play decent poker.
The action went back and forth while Chung managed to close the gap a few times, but Thaller would put him right back where he was within a few hands. The final hand happened around 30 minutes into the match when Chung limped from BTN and Thalled shoved from BB, which Chung called. Thaller was ahead with A♥Q♣ against Chung’s K♥7♥, and the board A♠3♠3♣5♣4♥ was enough to eliminate Chung in second place for $637,250.
