Almost exactly one year ago, many Nordic poker enthusiasts travelled to the mesmerizing capital of Sweden (Stockholm) to play the 2024 Nordic Masters. Tyson Strauss won the SKr16,500 Main Event for roughly $57,962 and could lift the trophy with pride. Little did Strauss or anyone else know that he’d be the final Nordic Masters Main Event winner on Scandinavian soil, as Casino Cosmopol shut down earlier this year. It goes without saying that this left a void in the Swedish poker community.
That’s why it’s thrilling news to hear that the Nordic Masters concept lives on. The event, which has been very appreciated throughout the years, has recently announced its return. A gray, rainy November edition of Stockholm will be switched out for the sunny and luxurious Alicante, Spain, for what is destined to be an astonishing live poker event.
A World-Class Venue to Host a Legendary Event
Sweden, Norway, Finland, and, to some extent, Denmark all suffer from the same gambling climate. They lack a satisfying supply of land-based casinos, and as such, Scandinavians have very limited opportunities to enjoy live poker. Some passionate souls are going to great lengths to create fitting substitutes; the best example may be the No Filter Poker Series, created by Mounir Taijou, to offer Scandinavian poker players the smoothest way possible to enjoy poker in real life still.
Presumably, many Vikings are beyond thrilled to hear the news that the Nordic Masters is now returning. Sure, it may not be played in the Nordics, but nevertheless, one of the most appreciated Swedish live poker events of all time is now revived, this time in the sunny paradise of Alicante, Spain.

The 2025 Nordic Masters will be played November 25-30. The schedule features four unique tournaments; as the organization itself describes on its webpage, the “exclusive series focuses on premium cash game action for semi high rollers, but also offers a diverse tournament schedule to ensure that every player has their chance to shine.”
In terms of the schedule, most eyes will be on the €550 Main Event. There’ll be two starting-day flights for the tournament, November 26-27, before Day 2 commences on November 28. Day 3, i.e., the final day, is scheduled on November 30; after the conclusion, yet another historic winner will join the Nordic Masters Main Event Winners Hall of Fame.
The whole festival will kick off with the €220 Mystery Bounty. The growing popularity of Mystery Bounty tournaments has been chart-shattering over the last couple of years, making this tournament the perfect start to the event.

As previously mentioned, the 2025 Nordic Masters will also be heavy on the cash games. Semi high rollers will be able to enjoy a world-class poker experience at one of the most luxurious poker venues in Europe. The Gran Casino Murcia Odiseo is one of the most stylish casinos out there, and considering it’s located in a paradise such as Alicante, there’s no doubt about it; all visitors are guaranteed the live poker experience of a lifetime. Apart from superb poker and gambling facilities, the four-star restaurant Rincón de Pepe is also located within the venue. The luxury of the Gran Casino Murcia Odiseo can not be emphasized enough; it will surely be six days in poker paradise that all players will remember and cherish forever.

The 2025 Nordic Masters will be organized by people with decades of experience in the poker event industry. It’s also been revealed that some of the biggest Nordic names in the global game of poker will participate in the event, which means that all players and visitors will have the opportunity to sit down at the tables with some absolute legends of the game.
Even though it’s called the Nordic Masters, the event is, of course, open to everyone. It’s an educated guess that the event will only grow bigger and better with the years to come, and all poker players should be very eager to be with the Nordic Masters from the start of the ride, now that the event is ready to begin the second chapter of its event life.
