Top Five for 2025: PartyPoker Moments

One major happening on the 2025 live poker scene was PartyPoker’s return to the live poker scene. The 2025 PartyPoker Tour was announced at the beginning of the year, and the circuit consisted of five stops in the UK. Targeting the grassroots poker community, PartyPoker can look back at a successful year; they’ve managed to create unique live poker events, and all five events have been very appreciated by all the players.

Considering poker.pro has been the official media partner of the tour, the editorial office has been on-site for all five events, following all the action at arm’s length. It’s been an absolute pleasure filled with many joyful moments. Even though it’s hard to cherry-pick the most memorable happenings from what has been a basket filled to the brim with golden nuggets, poker.pro have decided to highlight some of the coolest elements of the year. Without further ado, here are the top five PartyPoker moments from the 2025 season.

But First: Credit Where Credit is Due

Before getting into the top five moments of the excellent 2025 PartyPoker Tour, there are a few things to mention. First and foremost, the five players who’ve won the £500 Main Event at the various locations all answered for incredible achievements. The list could, of course, be made up of the five Main Event winners, but this poker.pro journalist has decided to instead give them all a collective homage here, before picking five more niche moments from the tour. Main Event winners, you all absolutely smashed it this year, and poker.pro are eager to see what you’ll be able to achieve next year.

Speaking of next year, PartyPoker has announced its first stops for the 2026 Tour. Not only will there once again be events in the UK, but there’ll also be a couple of festivals on Spanish soil. Even though the 2025 tour left little to wish for, PartyPoker is determined to keep evolving and make things bigger and better. The expectations are high for the 2026 tour, and all players can qualify for the live events for mere cents. The online qualifiers are, without a doubt, one of the biggest perks of the PartyPoker Tour, and players would be very wise to read up on how to win their package/seat to the various 2026 events, securing themselves tickets to what is destined to be a poker adventure of a lifetime.

With that “out of the way”, let’s get into the top five moments from the 2025 PartyPoker Tour.

Number Five: Beevers’ Rungood

During the Manchester stop back in April, PartyPoker announced a team of ambassadors for the tour. All of these ambassadors did a great job during the 2025 tour, making all the players feel at home during all the stops. With such a colorful and joyful bunch of people representing the PartyPoker brand, it’s no surprise that the vibes were constantly buzzing during the tour.

The ambassador team consisted of Glenn Brown, Barry Carter, Nathalie Bromley, Sam Acheampong, Asif Warris, Alexander Georgiev, and last but absolutely not least, Joe Beevers. Beevers, one of the original members of The Hendon Mob, is arguably one of the biggest and most legendary names that attended the 2025 PartyPoker Tour, and this poker.pro journalist must admit he was a little bit starstruck meeting “The Elegance” for the first time this year.

It has become customary for the ambassadors to indulge themselves in some kind of shenanigan game once during each stop. One of the most memorable moments from the ambassadors’ game came during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Birmingham, and it was Beevers himself who played the main role.

The seven horsemen sat down together with PartyPoker Team Pro’s Jaime Staples and Matt Staples at the live-streamed TV table, and it was time for an Influencers’ Sit ‘n’ Go tournament. It all started out as expected, with Brown being the first casualty after roughly 10 minutes. Warris then eliminated Jaime Staples in eighth place, but from that moment on, it was the Beevers show all the way.

His rampage began with a three-way all-in against Georgiev and Acheampong pre-flop. Beevers, who was holding K9, had both his opponents covered. Georgiev’s A4 and Acheampong’s 66 hands were drawing very slim on the K92 flop, and even though Georgiev improved to a straight as the board ran completed with 35, Beevers sent both of his opponents to the rail with his flush.

The very next hand, Beevers clashed all-in with Carter, who was holding 88. Beevers was trailing with A6, but this is where things started to get crazy. Beevers didn’t hate the 666 flop, and just to put salt in the wounds of Carter, the board completed with 1010, making his pair of eighths even more irrelevant.

Beevers didn’t slow down, and having the massive chip lead, he opened UTG with 32 the following hand. His bet was big enough to force the remaining players all in, and Bromley decided to make the call with A6. The QJ6 flop saw Bromley improving to a pair of sixes, but Beevers picked up a flushdraw. The Poker Gods continued to watch over the gentleman’s shoulder, and as he improved to a flush on the KA runout, Bradley was the next player to hit the rail.

The Beevers train kept on rolling, and two hands later, he was all in pre-flop with K5 against Matt Staples’ 99. Déjà vu as Beevers flopped another flush draw on AQ3, and as if five spades weren’t enough, the J10 runout saw Beevers eliminating Matt Staples in third place.

Beevers and Warris were now the only two players remaining. Warris was the shorter stack at the beginning of the heads-up; even though “The Poker Tourist” managed to double up three times, Beevers eventually claimed the win.

It might seem weird that an ambassador’s freeroll Sit ‘n’ Go makes the top five, but the reason is obviously the insane rungood that Beevers experienced. He even told this reporter afterwards that he never ran this well in a tournament before, and that comes from an old school legend who’s been playing since the early 1990s. The full tournament can be watched on PartyPoker’s YouTube channel (see video above), and it’s a very entertaining watch. As such, Beevers’ sun run deserves a place on the list.

Number Four: Staple Staples the Tables

The two Canadian brothers, Jaime Staples and Matt Staples, have been PartyPoker Team Pros for years, and they are proudly wearing the patch. They’ve been solid players for many years, and even though they mostly play online, they’ve proved this year that they are very competent live players as well.

Jaime Staples. Photo: Nunzia Esposito

Jaime’s best result in the Main Event this year came during the Glasgow stop. He bagged decently during one of the starting-day flights, but he was card dead for a long time during Day 2. Being a professional, though, he displayed sublime patience, and eventually, he and the remaining contestants were in the money. That’s when things started to turn for the Cannuck. He picked up consecutive premium holdings, and getting good cards in addition to his remarkable skills, he was soon playing one of the biggest stacks. Eventually, he and his eight remaining opponents all bagged their chips and got a good night’s sleep prior to the next day’s final table.

The final table would prove to be somewhat anticlimactic for Jaime. He entered the penultimate stage of the tournament with the second biggest stack, but a mere hour into the tournament, he lost a giant cooler. On Blinds 20,000/40,000 with eight players left, Kevin Frame opened to 425,000 from the Hi-jack, leaving himself with just 50,000 behind. John Woods made the call from the Cut-off, prior to Jaime forcing Woods all in for 1,285,000 from the Big Blind. Frame and Woods both made the call, holding QQ, Jaime was disappointed to see the AA of Woods. Frame was in rough shape with 99, and the 510J38 board meant that everything went down as the statistics indicated. Jaime was now crippled, and soon enough, he was eliminated in seventh place for £4,000.

The second brother, Matt, also scored one Main Event final table during the 2025 season. That came during the very first event in London, and he received £4,450 for his eighth-place finish. He was all in pre-flop with A4 against international poker icon Will Kassouf’s K4, and even though Matt improved to trip aces on the 3A65A runout, he couldn’t beat the flush of Kassouf.

Matt also had somewhat of a deep run during the Birmingham Main Event, where he finished in twelfth place after losing a flip against James Fowler. Matt wasted little time before registering for the £250 Mystery Bounty side event, and he capped off his Birmingham visit with a tournament win.

All things considered, the charismatic Staple brothers scored very good results during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour. One must admit they are very good ambassadors for the PartyPoker brand; they are very down-to-earth, friendly, and outgoing towards all players, and they’ve definitely played a big part in the success of the 2025 tour.

Number Three: The Revenge of Hardisty

From the Staples to “Ms. Staples”, as she was referred to by the commentators during the Birmingham live stream. Rebecca Hardisty and Jaime Staples have grown to become the power couple of the PartyPoker crew. Hardisty has also been working as a content creator for PartyPoker in 2025, and she’s been attending all the live stops and playing some of the tournaments herself.

During the Birmingham stop, it became very evident how much a trophy would mean to the lovely Hardisty. She participated in the £60 poker.pro PL Sviten Special; it was her very first time playing the Swedish-native five-card draw/PLO Frankenstein game, and she proved to have a real knack for it. She fought long and well, but, eventually, she finished in second place, as Georgiev claimed the £510 first-place payout and the trophy.

Hardisty was visibly disappointed coming so close to the trophy, but she’s made out of iron and decided to come back stronger. A couple of days later, on the last day of the Birmingham stop, she entered the £85 PLO Masters Party Madness PLO Bounty side event. There, she dominated and proved that she possesses a great understanding of Omaha. After a few hours, she emerged victorious after eliminating Christian Cernaianu heads-up. The £445 first-place payout was decent, but was she really wanted was the coveted trophy, and well-deservedly so, she finally got her first tournament win during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour.

It’s not an easy task to find a person who is as kind as Hardisty is, and knowing what the win meant to her, this journalist almost dropped a tear hearing about her win. She’s a fighter, and it was just a matter of time until she would stand on top of the podium. Hardisty’s win symbolizes something bigger; the PartyPoker Tour is a tour made for the grassroots players, and there have been many winners in 2025 who have claimed their first-ever live poker tournament trophy. Their expressions have never been mistaken for anything else than pure joy, and the PartyPoker Tour deserves a huge shoutout for making many players’ dreams come true.

Number Two: poker.pro Mixed Games Bonanza

The previously mentioned poker.pro PL Sviten Special is just one of many poker.pro-branded Mixed Games tournaments that have been running during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour. As the official media partner of the tour, poker.pro is grateful for the opportunity to host various events at each stop. Perhaps, it felt extra special in Glasgow, where the locals claimed it was the first time in years something other than Texas NLH or PLO had been played in the Alea Casino. The whole team at poker.pro, especially CEO Jason Glatzer, are Mixed Games enthusiasts, and it’s been a great feeling to satisfy the UK Mixed Games community in 2025.

Daryosh Rossookh, winner of the £100 poker.pro PLO4/5/6 7-Max during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester. Photo: Nunzia Esposito

It all started in Manchester with the £100 poker.pro PLO 4/5/6. It was dealer’s choice, and it quickly became evident that the Manchester crowd craved action, as the majority of the players elected 6-card PLO when it was their turn to choose. Eventually, Daryosh Rossookh claimed the title, and as such, he became the first-ever winner of a poker.pro-branded tournament.

Glasgow was up next, and Glatzer decided to be creative. In its traditional form, H.O.R.S.E. is not played with pot-limit, which made the £60 poker.pro PL H.O.R.S.E., the first-ever tournament of its kind. It proved to be a success with 59 entries during one of the busiest days of the festival, and the winner, Christopher Johnston, praised poker.pro for re-igniting the Scottish Mixed Games flame.

From there on, poker.pro put the pedal to the metal. During the Birmingham stop, there were three poker.pro-branded Mixed Games on the schedule. As previously mentioned, Georgiev claimed the title in the Sviten Event. The PL H.O.R.S.E. returned, and Henry Owen joined Glasgow winner Johnston in the unique Hall of Fame. Last but not least was the £100 poker.pro R.O.S.E.T. As if PL H.O.R.S.E. wasn’t revolutionizing enough, here came another brand-new mix of poker disciplines.

Lewis Henderson, winner of the £100 poker.pro R.O.S.E.T. during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Birmingham. Photo: Nunzia Esposito

R.O.S.E.T. consisted of Razz, PLO, Sviten, PLO Hi/Lo, and Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw. It was a very exciting mix that attracted 22 entries, and the three players who made the money – Lewis Henderson, Blaise Bourgeois, and Georgina James – are all very competent Mixed Games players. Eventually, Henderson claimed the title in what was perhaps the most intriguing (although not the biggest) poker.pro-branded tournament thus far. In his winner’s interview, Henderson revealed that he is a huge Mixed Games enthusiast and that he wished the UK Mixed Games scene were bigger. He’s played Sviten Special around the kitchen table during home games with his mates, and he felt like a kid in a candy store at Resorts World Birmingham during the PartyPoker Tour, as it was the first time in ages Mixed Games had been played in those facilities.

The 2025 poker.pro-branded Mixed Games tournaments season wrapped up during the most recent PartyPoker stop in London with another three events. Sviten and PL H.O.R.S.E. were once again on the schedule, and the two tournaments were accompanied by the £60 poker.pro Sunday Party Madness Crazy Pineapple Bounty to complete the trifecta. Said pineapple affair was won by Acheampong, and the ambassador claimed his first PartyPoker trophy.

Number One: Georgiev Wins Leaderboard Race

Throughout the entire 2025 PartyPoker Tour, an ongoing leaderboard has been in place. The better ITM finish a player has been getting, the more leaderboard points they have received. Again, PartyPoker is a tour with the players’ best interests in focus; they proved this with the fine prizes for the top 15 leaderboard. The first-place prize was, naturally, especially juicy: a £5,000 package for the 2026 PartyPoker Tour.

At the start of the London stop, it was a very exciting and even race, especially at the top. Georgiev was in the lead with 386,27 points, and 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester Main Event winner Deniz Orhan was chasing his tail with 336,81 points. It looked like it would be an intense race between the two, and that would prove to be the case.

During the second-to-last day of the festival, Orhan managed to close the gap a little, but it would all come down to the final day. On said day, Georgiev was battling it out in the £250 PLO Masters Main Event to maintain his lead, Orhan was chasing points in the £1,000 High Roller. After roughly five hours of play, Orhan busted the High Roller, but decided to re-enter as a final attempt to catch up.

Alexander Georgiev. Photo: Nunzia Esposito

It was a battle that lasted until the very end, but as Orhan didn’t cash the High Roller, Georgiev was ultimately declared the winner. He even got some additional (albeit irrelevant) points for his thirteenth-place finish in the PLO Masters Main Event. The final results read 478 points for Georgiev and 447,5 points for Orhan, and a very exciting year-long race came to an end.

And that, friends, is poker.pro’s top five favorite moments of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour. The unspoken number one spot, however, goes out to the tour in its entirety. All members of the PartyPoker team should be very proud of what they’ve created this year. They’ve set the bar high for 2026, and considering the hard work and dedication they’ve showcased during the last 12 months, next year’s tour is destined to reach new heights. poker.pro will be along for the ride, and seeing as the first event will be played January 27-February 1 in Sheffield, it’s soon time to buckle up.
