Pure Poker Tour Closes Out 2025 at Yellowhead

The final showdown for the 2025 Pure Poker Tour (PPT) is set to roll in mid-November. With trophy events starting on Nov 16, the final series, called the Tournament of Champions, runs for 11 days of poker action in the Pearl Room of Pure Casino Yellowhead in Edmonton.

Live satellite action for the series starts on the 16th of November, with 4 days of qualifying action spread over the two Edmonton Pure properties. There are 4 different chances to win a T$1,900 package in the lead-up to the series, with a 5th running on opening night, alongside the Seniors and NLH/PLO Mix games that kick off the series.

Several more satellite games will run throughout the series, with the qualifying games picking up again on November 24th. There’s a satellite game every night from Monday to Friday that week, giving players plenty of shots to book some cheap entries to the trophy events.

PLO Main is a New Highlight

Most of the schedule for the final PPT series of 2025 looks pretty similar to past schedules from this season. In fact, the first 7 days of action look virtually identical to the previous series.

$1,500 PLO Main

One big change comes on Day 8, however, with the addition of a $1,500 PLO Main Event. The PLO Main precedes the traditional Main Event, with PLO Day 2 action playing out on the same day as the opening flight to the NLH Main Event on Friday, Nov 28.

  • Buy-In: $1,500 ($1,360 + $140)
  • Start Stack: 40k
  • Blinds: 40 Minutes
  • Dates: Nov 27 – 28, 2025
    • Day 1: Nov 27, noon
    • Day 2: Nov 28, noon

$1,100 Main Event

While the PLO Main represents the biggest buy-in of the series (it looks to be replacing the high roller that previously ran near the end of the series), the traditional Main Event is still likely to be the biggest field and prize pool of the series. While it’s possible Event #3 will eclipse the Main in total entries, it’s unlikely the prizes for that $670 game will equal the Main, as it would need close to twice the entries to cap the prizes.

The NLH Main Event has two starting days on Friday and Saturday, both starting at 1 PM. The final day of scheduled action (the casino reserves the right to schedule a Day 3 for Monday if necessary) plays out on Sun, Nov 30, starting at noon.

In September at the last series, local regular Pav Braich took down his first Main Event after a deal with Cam Stewart, who had nearly half a dozen final tables in the series, and was playing his second heads-up. Braich bagged himself a few side-event trophies from the PPT in the past, but this was his first Main Event trophy.

  • Buy-In: $1,100 ($990 + $110)
  • Start Stack: 30k
  • Blinds: 40/60 Minutes
  • Dates: Nov 28 – 30, 2025
    • Day 1a: Nov 28, 1 PM
    • Day 1b: Nov 29, 1 PM
    • Day 2: Nov 30, noon

Most of the series will be like “old home week” for regulars on the PPT. The Saturday night poker party that is the Team event runs again on Nov 29, promising more than a few hangovers for some Day 2 players in the Main Event. The ever-popular 6-Max game is back, running on Nov 24-25, as well as both versions of the Deepstack hyper games. Both the two-card and four-card versions of that game, combining big stacks with lightning-fast blinds, have drawn big fields in recent series.

See below for a look at the upcoming schedule at Pure Casino Yellowhead, as well as all the structures. As always, poker.pro will be live & in-person at Yellowhead for the entirety of the trophy events, bringing you action and results from the final PPT series of 2025.
