The main game on Thursday at the 2025 Summer Super Stack at Deerfoot Inn & Casino was the opening flight to Event #3, which drew solid numbers for an increase over the April numbers for this event. On the side was an interesting format that combined the thrills of cash bomb pot PLO with the strategy of MTT play.
Both games drew solid numbers, though the PLO Double Board Bomb Pot game was a bit below the numbers from April. The game drew 63 entries for total prizes of $23,940. Meanwhile, the opening flight to the Deepstack game pushed past the April numbers with 128 entries and more than $36k in prizes.
Opening Flight to the Deepstack Flies High

In April, the opening flight to Event #3: Deepstack got 117 entries for prizes of almost $34k. This time around, they went even bigger with 128 entries for prizes of $36,480.
When the dust settled after about 10 hours of play, it was Giulio Rosati sitting with the most chips. He got the big stack at the end of the night when he woke up with kings against the ace-king of Michael St Pierre-Porter and held to burst the Day 1a bubble. That shot Rosati up the count to the lead, capping Curtis Singleton, who bagged second, but held the lead through much of the final levels of play.
Rosati isn’t the most regular player on the tour, though he’s certainly a familiar face. While we don’t see him out as often as other players, when he does show up, he almost always figures in the endgame.
When the final hands were dealt around midnight, 13 players were still left with chips. A couple of other interesting stacks to note belong to the Roque brothers. After both Philip and Julius final tabled the Seniors game on opening day, both brothers found bags in the Day 1a flight for Event #3. Older brother Philip has just under 100k, while the younger brother Julius is over 300k.

York Prevails in Epic Battle with Sanchez in PLO Double Board Bomb Pot

It was a case of “the usual suspects” at the end of the PLO Double Board Bomb Pot game last night. If I’d have made a list of five players most likely to be there at the end, the final three players in this game almost certainly would have made my list.
Nicholas Lee, who can often be seen studying medical texts in between hands in his quest to become a doctor, was the defending champion for this event, and he made it into the final three last night, but that was as far as he could make it. Once Lee lost his stack to Teo Sanchez, the battle ensued between Sanchez and Skyler York.
Sanchez had the lead to start heads up, and held it for most of the final phase. But York wasn’t easy to kill. Sanchez had him on the ropes multiple times, but he kept finding a way to survive. In the final confrontation, York was in with the worst hand, but the biggest stack. Sanchez bricked the runout while York paired up to take down the win after nearly an hour of two-handed play.
