Jenny Westerlund Stays Red-Hot, Wins Queens of Tallinn Opener After WSOP Circuit Tallinn Triumph

Jenny Westerlund

Just a few weeks removed from her breakthrough victory in the 2025 WSOP Circuit Tallinn Main Event for a whopping €200,200 haul, Sweden’s Jenny Westerlund kept her momentum rolling on the opening day of the 2025 OlyBet Queens of Tallinn at Olympic Park Casino. The rising star outpaced a challenging international women-only field to claim the €80 NLH Queens of Tallinn Deep Stack Opening Event for €1,594 to put a stamp on the first of four days in what promises to be an exciting extended weekend for women in poker.

The 2025 Queens of Tallinn began its third edition on Thursday, once again bringing a special energy to Estonia’s capital. What began as an ambitious concept highlighting women in poker has quickly grown into one of the most unique and inclusive festivals on the European calendar. Far from just another stop on the circuit, the Queens of Tallinn blends serious competition with a welcoming atmosphere, encouraging seasoned grinders and first-time players to take their shot in a comfortable environment. The festival has become known not only for its international fields and polished structure but also for creating a space where community, celebration, and the love of the game are just as important as the trophies up for grabs.

The opening day boasted a Meet and Greet to welcome everyone in attendance before the poker action commenced. In addition to the trophy event, players also enjoyed cash games. Additionally, five players from five different countries punched their ticket into the €350 Queens of Tallinn Main Event, including Estonia’s Christel Haller, Latvia’s Jana Smelena, Finland’s Susanna Haapasalmi, Brazil’s Camila Flavia Leitao Dantas, and Lithuania’s Viktorija Rakejevaite in the Freebuy satellite boasting €20 rebuys and add-ons.

 Westerlund on Fire

Jenny Westerlund wins 2025 WSOP Circuit Main Event

Just a few weeks ago, on Aug. 3, Westerlund accomplished what most poker players have spent a lifetime dreaming about with a memorable victory on the big stage during the 2025 WSOP Circuit Tallinn for a whopping payday of €200,200, and the $5,000 Ticket to Paradise package for this year’s WSOP in the Bahamas. If winning the largest single prize in OlyBet Poker history isn’t enough, the 2025 WSOP Circuit Tallinn Main Event attracted 888 runners for a €1,138,860 prize pool, and the recognition among her peers will remain forever as one of the first women WSOP Circuit Main Event winners.

Now, Westerlund has set her eyes on more titles at the 2025 Queens of Tallinn and was off to a hot start after winning the €80 NLH Queens of Tallinn Deep Stack Opening Event for €1,594. The event attracted 81 entries to generate a €5,274 prize pool.

Estonian poker hero Kelly Limonova was the first out at the final table, collecting the ninth-place prize of €170, before the 2024 Queens of Tallinn Main Event champion Saara Benlamine from Finland bowed out in eighth place for €210.

Estonia dominated the field at this point, with five of the seven players remaining vying for the title. Four of the five final players remained after the United Kingdom’s Donna Stanton (sixth—€260) and Estonia’s Kairit Leibold (seventh – €260) collected their payout slips.

Westerlund crushed all the hopes of the trophy staying home to win the trophy as one by one players from Estonia lost their stacks, including Karin Ehala (second – €1,050), Leone Kala (third – €740), Gerli Rüüberg (fourth – €540), and Liis Rogov (fifth – €390).

2025 Queens of Tallinn Day 2 Schedule (Friday, Aug. 22)

The action heats up on Friday with the €350 NLH Queens of Tallinn kicking off both of its opening flights at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively. Players will have plenty of time to build a deep stack with 30,000 in starting chips and late registration open throughout the opening flights and during the first three blind levels of Saturday’s Day 2, when players will play down to a live-streamed final table on Sunday. Outside of Day 1b, which boasts 30-minute blind levels, players will compete under a 40-minute clock throughout the event.

Players will also have two more chances to punch their ticket into the Main Event for pennies on the Euro or maybe even for free as two freebuy satellites at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. will guarantee five and three seats, respectively.

While the men will be shut out from tournaments on Friday, they can enjoy the nonstop cash games on the casino floor throughout the weekend.
