Ladies, leave room in your calendars this December. The 2025 Women in Poker Winter Festival returns to Resorts World Las Vegas as a part of the LIPS (Ladies International Poker Series) at the end of the year. Being one of the few women-only live poker festivals, it makes perfect sense for an event of this magnitude and prestige to go down in one of the most luxurious venues in the world. The compact tournament schedule promises intense action, highlighted by a $360 Championship Event.
$360 Championship Takes the Cake
The 2025 Women in Poker Winter Festival will be held from December 8 to 12. Lupe Soto, one of the biggest advocates for women in the poker community, is the founder of both the event and LIPS (the tour it’s a part of). This will be the fourth edition of the winter edition; that being said, there have also been Women in Poker – or WIP, as it is often referred to as – events during the summer and the spring.
The festival consists of five unique events. Arguably, the most prestigious one is the $360 NLH Championship. The “Main Event” features two starting-day flights, and late registration will be open during the first eight 30-minute levels for both days. Those players who manage to survive Level 12 will all bag their chips for Day 2. Perhaps this year’s number will be similar to those during the 2024 edition of the Championship event; the tournament then attracted 173 entries, creating a $53,630 prize pool. American Kelly Slay was crowned the winner, earning $14,480 for her feat.

The Championship event will be the tournament that wraps up the entire festival, as it’s scheduled for December 11-12. There’s a lot of fun before that, though. The $200 NLH Opener will kick it all off, tightly followed by the $240 Omaha 8 later that Monday. The $240 Mystery Bounty on Tuesday, December 9, ought to be one of the most popular tournaments during the whole event; the excitement of a live poker mystery bounty tournament can’t be compared to anything else, and the thrill of not knowing what prize one’ll get after knocking out an opponent really brings an extra element of drama to the game.
December 9 is also when the $200 Crazy Pineapple makes its appearance. The next day, Wednesday the tenth, the $240 NLH Poker Jingle is the only tournament on the schedule. This won’t be your average live poker tournament experience; all players are expected to dress up in appropriate, jolly gear to celebrate the festive season.
At 18:00 the same day, it’ll be time for the Poker Friends Forever Holiday MUG & Gift Exchange. This game, where the participants exchange Christmas gifts with each other, often tends to get as action-packed and prestigious as the poker tournaments, and if one is planning to participate in the festival this December, participating in the MUG is a given.

Soto herself is very excited for yet another edition of the Women in Poker Winter Festival:
“The 2025 Women in Poker Winter Festival is year four of supporting the WPT Ladies Championship here in Las Vegas. It is not easy for a woman to travel here for a single event, especially during the holidays. However, hosting a festival dedicated to women creates a winter destination for women in poker to enjoy and an opportunity to bring home more than a single title!”
No doubt, the 2025 Women in Poker Winter Festival will get all participants in the true holiday spirit just days before Christmas. It’ll be a joyful event filled with love and gratitude, where new acquaintances are made, and where old friends reunite.
