The World Poker Tour’s annual winter swing through Florida is almost here, as the WPT Seminole Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open (RRPO) returns to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood from November 19 to December 3, 2025. The festival will once again culminate with the $3,500 RRPO Championship from November 28 to December 3, featuring a $3,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

While the full schedule for 2025 hasn’t been released yet, players can expect a similar slate to last year’s 50+ trophy events, ranging from big-field No-Limit Hold’em tournaments to mixed games and high rollers. If the 2024 edition is anything to go by, this will be one of the largest and most diverse series of the year on the East Coast.

Looking Back: Dylan Smith’s Redemption Run

Last year’s Championship saw Florida’s own Dylan Smith finally get the WPT title that had eluded him earlier in 2024. Coming off a disappointing fifth-place finish at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown despite holding the chip lead, Smith entered the RRPO with a clear goal in mind — redemption.

Smith topped a massive 1,435-entry field, banking $662,200 after defeating Day 4 chip leader Matthew Beinner heads-up. Along the way, he overcame a stacked final table that included Francis Anderson and Landon Tice, the latter falling victim to a brutal cooler against Smith’s pocket aces early in the day.

“I was intensely focused the entire day,” Smith said after his win. “That’s probably why I’m so exhausted now.”

What to Expect in 2025

While we await the official schedule, last year’s RRPO offered something for everyone — and it’s a safe bet we’ll see a similar mix in 2025. The action traditionally kicks off with the $400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em opener boasting a $2,000,000 guarantee, followed by specialty events like the Seniors Championship, Ladies Championship, Big O, and various mixed games including H.O.R.S.E., Eight-Game Mix, and Dealers’ Choice.

Midway through the series, the $1,100 Triple Stack and $600 Deep Stack events tend to draw big numbers, while PLO specialists get plenty of options at multiple buy-ins. High-stakes players can look forward to the $25,500 High Roller and $10,000 NLH events, which in recent years have attracted some of the game’s biggest names.

The crown jewel, of course, is the $3,500 Championship, which in 2024 generated a prize pool of just under $4.6 million. With Florida’s booming poker scene, this year’s edition could be even bigger.

A Must-Play Stop to Close the Year

The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open has long been a favorite among pros and recreational players alike, thanks to its deep structures, huge guarantees, and electric atmosphere. Add in South Florida’s perfect late fall weather, and it’s no wonder the RRPO is considered one of the premier year-end destinations on the WPT calendar.

Whether you’re chasing your first trophy or looking to add your name to the Champions Club like Dylan Smith, the 2025 WPT Seminole Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open promises two weeks of non-stop action and a Championship finale worthy of its reputation.
