The 2025 WSOP Circuit Nottingham at Dusk Till Dawn has officially wrapped up and what a festival it was. Every single guarantee was crushed, the fields were massive, and eleven golden rings found their new owners, including two on the final day.
While British poker pro and content creator Brandon Sheils claimed the very last ring in the £560 Closer, most eyes in Nottingham were locked on the grand finale and the conclusion of the £1,500 Main Event.

Francis Obadun Wins the £1,500 Main Event for £189,028

The Main Event began the day with 16 returning players out of an enormous 845 total entries and 129 Day 2 qualifiers. With £1,147,750 in the prize pool and a massive £189,028 reserved for the champion, everyone returned knowing one life-changing run was about to unfold.
In the end, it was Francis Obadun who emerged victorious, defeating Jack O’Neill heads-up to win the biggest score of his career, along with his first WSOP Circuit ring and a $5,000 package for WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas.
Obadun’s run was remarkable from the start. He earned his place in Day 2 via Sunday’s last-chance turbo flight, which immediately rolled into a Day 2 of the Main Event for a combined 15-hour marathon session. He returned for Day 3 with a middling 42 big blinds, and like everyone else, far behind Gilbert Black’s enormous 178 big blind tower.

However, it was one key hand between these two that completely shifted the momentum of the entire event. On a flop of 10♣2♠5♠, Obadun made a standard continuation bet only for Black to rip all-in. Obadun quickly called with the top set while Black was drawing thin with pocket sixes. The board bricked out, awarding Obadun a gigantic pot and the momentum swing of the tournament.
“It was a gift,” Obadun told poker.pro live reporter Christoffer Karlén after the victory. “There was a dynamic between us and he just jammed all-in. He even turned a straight draw, I couldn’t believe it. It was crazy.”
From there, Obadun stormed into the final table as the clear chip leader, nearly doubling Black’s remaining stack, who was still in even with the earlier misstep. Nigel Chukwu was the first finalist to fall after running top two pair into Obadun’s top set of queens. Stephen O’Keeffe followed in seventh, unable to out-flip Jack O’Neill’s pocket fives. Black rallied briefly by eliminating Mark Stokes with ace-king against ace-ten, before O’Neill and Obadun traded eliminations and control of the table. Sandeep Shah was dispatched by O’Neill, only for Obadun to take out start-of-day chip leader Black shortly afterward. Pranav Agarwal bowed out in third, setting up a heads-up battle between O’Neill and Obadun for the title.

O’Neill was no stranger to the moment, having won a WSOP Circuit ring in 2023’s £280 Closer at Dusk Till Dawn. Well, now they are even in the number of rings. Obadun quickly extended his lead and sealed the title after shoving with nine-six and getting called by O’Neill’s dominating ace-nine. A low 5♠3♦7♠ flop gave Obadun a gutshot and backdoor flush draw. The turn brought in his straight that pretty much shut the door.
O’Neill collected £126,005 for his runner-up finish, while Francis Obadun celebrated a career-best £189,028, the coveted WSOP Circuit ring, and a trip to the Bahamas to one-up his recent achievement.

Brandon Sheils Wins the £560 WSOP Circuit Closer
Even after the Main Event concluded, the festival still had unfinished business with the £560 Closer playing to a winner. The event attracted 92 entries and, you’ve guessed it, easily crushed its £20,000 guarantee to reach £46,000, paying 14 places and awarding £12,240 up top.
When the dust settled, British pro, poker coach and content creator Brandon Sheils finally captured the WSOP Circuit ring that had eluded him throughout a successful career that includes more than $2 million in live earnings. A long-deserved moment for Sheils, who also earned a WSOP Paradise package and the chance to turn this first ring into a potential WSOP bracelet later this year.
