There were two more rings awarded in Calgary on Monday, Day 6 of the 2026 WSOP-C Calgary. The Seniors game returned for early-bird action with 11 players left to play down to the ring, while later in the day, the PKO kicked off for some fast-action knockout poker.
In addition to all that, Day 1 of the Two-Day $1k played out, bagging up after 15 levels with 64 players, from a starting a field of 440 entries. Christian Wallmuth bagged the big stack for Tuesday’s Day 2, and he was one of three players to put more than half a million in their bag.
Trevor Simpson Wins Seniors Event for $34,698

- Entries: 539
- Prizes: $168,977
- Winner: Trevor Simpson ($34,698)
Traditionally one of the biggest one-day fields of the series, the Seniors game didn’t disappoint this time around. The 50+ game drew 20 more entries than this game got in October 2025, for a total of 539 this time out.
Kevin Kemna bagged the big stack after 23 levels of play on Day 1, leading the 11 returning players, while the eventual winner, Trevor Simpson, bagged a modest stack near the bottom of the list. In fact, Simpson was the second-shortest stack coming into Day 2, but that didn’t stop the local grinder from finding his way through to his first ring.
Simpson bided his time early, letting the big stack Kemna do the early work, as he busted the first few players from the table. Simpson continued to languish near the bottom of the stacks until they got short-handed. He sent Pam Lafleur home in fifth with the best ace to start his climb to the ring.
He went on a tear at that point, sending home several players and building a 4.5/1 advantage for heads up against Kemna, then made short work of the former big stack to grab his first Circuit ring.

Sunny Lubana Bags His Second Ring in PKO

- Entries: 399
- Prizes: $167,580 Combined ($87,780 Prizes, $79,800 Bounties)
- Winner: Sunny Lubana ($15,345 + $11,850 in Bounties)
Sunny Lubana grabbed his second Circuit Ring early Tuesday morning as the PKO game finished up just before 6 AM. Lubana made his way through the field of 399 entries, but for much of the endgame, he was letting other players do the work.
Jake “TheSnake” Sujata and Kyle Dery were the big stacks through much of the final table, with Lubana generally hanging out below them, but he turned up the heat as the final table got shorter. In the end, he went on a run of cards that saw him take down the final four players to secure his win.
Lubana is a solid player, but in this case, he was also getting the cards in the endgame. He sent Sujata home in 3rd on a huge cooler when Sujata woke up with eights in the small, and Lubana found nines in the big and held. He then sent Dery home in the runner-up spot after a single hand of heads up when Dery found an ace and shoved the short stack, but ran into jacks for Lubana.
The jacks held, and Lubana was putting on his second ring, after winning his first here in Aug 2024 in the $1k. Lubana is a bit of a poker philanthropist, as 10% of his winnings always go to a family charity that the Lubanas have set up to fund educational expenses for underprivileged children in his native India, so after tonight, there will be almost another $3k in that educational fund.
