Merit Poker to Host WSOP Super Circuit in Cyprus

WSOP Super Circuit Cyprus 2025-2026 Announcement

Merit Poker has officially announced that it will host the WSOP Super Circuit Cyprus from October 9 to 21, with 18 WSOP Circuit Gold Rings waiting for their new owners at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Spa in North Cyprus.

Highest Level of Exclusivity

Merit Poker and Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Spa have really established themselves as exclusive live poker locations, attracting some of the biggest brands in the industry, like Mediterranean Poker Tour (MPP), PokerGO, European Poker Tour (EPT), Triton, and now World Series of Poker (WSOP). They offer a high-level experience for every poker player.

The Main Event will start with a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000,000 and a buy-in of $5,300, attracting high-stakes players from all over the world. The series will feature events from $1,000 to $10,000, including a Mini Main, four PLO events, a Mystery Bounty, and High Roller and Super High Roller tournaments.

Later in the year, online satellites for live events at WSOP Super Circuit Cyprus will be hosted exclusively on the GGPoker Network. These will allow players to qualify for a portion of the full price of the events.

President of Merit Poker Songul Bekem said: “This marks the first time that a WSOP event has been held at Merit, and the team is very excited at the prospect of hosting such a prestigious series, which will include two weekends. We have the biggest ballrooms outside of the USA that are capable of hosting a series of such magnitude. Keep your eye out for early bird hotel offers, which will be available when the core schedule is released.”

The announcement of hosting WSOP Super Circuit came right after a big success on the Mediterranean Poker Party, which broke the 5M guarantee by $740,800 and closed off with a $5,300 Main Event final table, which was broadcast on Merit Poker and DTD Player YouTube channels. The event was a huge boom, beating the attendance of €5,300 EPT Monte Carlo Main Event by a symbolic one entry (1,196 entries), which may signal there is a new hot-spot for live poker in Europe.

A large number of high-level pro players also chose to play in MPP Cyprus over EPT Monte Carlo, including some of the most successful WSOP winners: 2019 WSOP Main Event winner Hossein Ensan, 2020 online champ Stoyan Madanzhiev, and 2022 winner Espen Jørstad.

“I like this destination better,” Jørstad told poker.pro. “Here, you’ve got multiple gyms, spas, and so many food options.” That all-inclusive lifestyle clearly makes a difference to players.

The MPP was a perfect preview of what players can expect when the WSOP Super Circuit lands at Merit Royal Diamond later this year. With world-class facilities, top-tier hospitality, and a track record of record-breaking events, October’s series is shaping up to be something special. When the full schedule and additional updates are released, you can count on poker.pro to keep you informed every step of the way.
