The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) is coming back to Calgary for the eighth time overall, with Deerfoot Inn & Casino once again playing host to Canada’s most consistent and growing poker stop. This time, the cards go in the air from October 1 to 13, 2025 — marking what will be the final WSOP Circuit Calgary stop of the year.
poker.pro’s own Lyle Bateman will be on-site handling the live reporting, ensuring you won’t miss a moment from one of Canada’s premier poker highlights.
Main Event Set to Cap Off the Series
The $2,300 NLH Main Event is once again the crown jewel of WSOPC Calgary. With three starting flights (October 9–11) and Day 2 on October 12, this deep-structured event routinely draws over 1,000 entries and has pushed prize pools past $2.2 million. The most recent champion was Manish “Bubs” Rahl, who won the title and $312,624 in January earlier this year, topping a 1,571-player field for the biggest share of the $2,077,065 prize pool after defeating Angelo Jopek heads-up.

This October’s edition is expected to match that prestige and with the Main Event buy-in bumped from January’s $1,700 to $2,300, the stakes are higher than ever. A $300K+ payday for the champion is well within reach, with a field expected to be filled with Circuit regulars, local grinders, and international talent. The final table will play out on October 13, alongside the $3,500 High Roller finale.
Calgary’s Main Event routinely draws over 1,000 entries and has cracked $2.2 million in prize money at its peak.
Unique Side Events and Returning Favorites
While the Main Event draws the biggest spotlight, WSOPC Calgary’s schedule is rich with variety. Opening day features the Big 30 Stack NLH, a long-standing warm-up with a friendly $400 buy-in and deep 30K stacks. The Mystery Bounty (October 4) remains a fan favorite with prize envelopes ranging from hundreds to thousands. For those who like short-handed chaos, the $500 Progressive K.O. on October 6 blends cash bounties with escalating knockout values.
Special formats are well represented—T.O.R.S.E. mixed game on October 5–6, the first ever in Canada, PLO Bounty action on October 10, and Flip & Go flights scattered across the series for quick paths to the money. Seniors and Ladies events keep the community feel strong, while the Monster Stack (October 7–9) offers huge starting stacks for deep-play specialists.
