Presumably, all London residents woke up on Sunday, excited for what was ahead. No, we’re not talking about the 2025 London Marathon. It may have attracted its fair share of runners, but, of course, we’re all about the 2025 PartyPoker Tour London. After a thrilling week of sublime live poker action, the fun was coming to an end at Aspers Casino, and everything would culminate with a winner in the £500 Main Event.

    27 Feisty Competitors

27 players returned for the final day of what has been a three-day tournament. The mission: emerge victorious, get the trophy, and claim the £38,408 first-place prize.

Entering the day as chipleader was one of poker’s most familiar faces – or maybe, he’s more famous for his voice. Will Kassouf had a good Day 2 on Saturday, and he’d managed to bag 1,988,000 for Day 3. This translated to 83 Big Blinds, and the lawyer turned poker pro had earned himself great presumptions for a deep run in the tournament.

    Will Kassouf (right).

Roughly two hours into play, he lost his chip lead as he came up short against Raheel Bhatti.

Soon enough, only 18 players remained and there was a re-draw for the final two tables. One player who started to pick up more and more chips at this stage was Getnet Kassa. He played aggressive, he ran hot, and with 13 players remaining he was the chip leader.

Kassouf was still in, and he wasn’t the only familiar face in the field. PartyPoker Team Pro Matt Staples was still in the mix, and he got up to 3,000,000 in chips when he managed to knock out the last woman standing in the tournament, Cassandra Yong.

    Matt Staples.

At 7 p.m., Huseyin Houssein was eliminated in tenth place, and that meant that the stage was set for the final table.

    Playing for Glory

The excitement was buzzing at this point; soon enough, we’d get to see who’d be crowned the winner of the first PartyPoker live event since 2023.

Entering the final table as the chip leader was Danilo Sato. Holding “only” 44 Big Blinds, the players weren’t too deep at this point. From the get-go, we saw many all-ins before the flop; that wasn’t the case, though, when Tony Poulengeris got it in on the flop and became the first one to go from the final table.

When eight players remained, the cooler of the tournament played out, when an absolutely brutal river card saw Sato go from first to last in the chip counts. On the other hand, Raheel Bhatti, who had entered the final table with the least number of chips, was now standing at the top of the rankings.

Sato wasn’t going to let himself get on tilt, though, and he kept on grinding. He secured at least one more pay jump, as the crowd favorite Staples busted in eighth place, after Kassouf rivered the nut flush. There’s no doubt that the Staple Brothers, Matt and Jaime, contributed to the good vibes at Aspers Casino during the week, and we can’t wait to see them again on the upcoming PartyPoker Tour stops.

There were some creative moves on the final table. Commentator George Sandford and co-anchor Jay Harwood lost it when Christopher Barnes shoved Q8 over an UTG Open. Except for Barnes, Kassa also wasn’t scared to think outside the box.

Eventually, Kassouf reclaimed the chip lead, as Abdullah Ahmad was left with half a big blind. Naturally, he was the next player to bust, but not before 9x-ing his stack in one hand. Then, something extraordinary happened. Three hands, three eliminations. Fabio Sperling and Sato fell back-to-back to Bhatti, and Barnes became a victim of Kassa.

    The Duel

Three-handed play wouldn’t last for long, as Bhatti experienced death by quads against Kassa. Such, it was time for the heads-up duel between Kassouf and Kassa to commence. Initially, Kassa held a 3-to-2 chip lead, and Kassouf struggled to pick up any chips; Sandford and Harwood were bamboozled by the folds Kassouf was making.

Getnet Kassa, winner of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour London Main Event.
Getnet Kassa, winner of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour London Main Event.

Kassouf was bleeding chips, and eventually, he got his last five Big Blinds in with K4. Unfortunately for him, Kassa woke up with 88, and the 2J1053 runout offered zero consolation for Kassouf. He was out in second place, and that settled it: Getnet Kassa was the winner of the £500 Main Event during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour London!

Kassa was deemed a fair winner by Sandford and Harwood; he had displayed great poker skills mixed with creativity throughout the tournament. Before entering Day 3, he told Sandford that if he’d win a hand with seven-deuce on stream, he’d treat the commentating duo to cocktails. While this prophecy didn’t come true, there may be a chance Kassa will still celebrate tonight.

Fabio Sperling opened to 1,000,0000 from UTG, leaving himself 430,000 behind. From the Hi-jack, Raheel Bhatti raised to 3,000,000 in an attempt to isolate himself against Sperling. He was successful in the mission as all the other players folded before Sperling made the call, being at risk.

The turn was the J, and action now went check-check. On the river 8, Bhatti bet 250,000, and Kassouf made the call.

    Raheel Bhatti: A5

  • Day 2 Delivers Fireworks, Final 27 Set for Day 3

The energy at Aspers Casino just kept building on Saturday, as PartyPoker’s return to the live scene continued to deliver in a big way. Day 2 of the Main Event was packed with action, bringing bigger fields, bigger prizes, and bigger moments. When the dust settled, the prize pool had ballooned to a massive £216,703 — with £38,408 waiting up top for the eventual winner.

    Aleksandr Georgiev

A total of 124 players came back for Day 2, and the tournament didn’t waste any time getting into gear. Eliminations came fast and furious, especially in the early levels, and the feature table livestream added even more excitement as players rotated in and out throughout the day.

    Fast and Furious Start

Coverage picked up right from the jump as players barreled toward the bubble. Despite a 4 PM start (giving everyone a little recovery time after Friday night’s players party), the action was relentless. Aleks was the first to bust on the stream, coming in short-stacked and finding no miracle to save him.

    Feature Table Overhead

At the feature table, Will Kassouf wasted no time making noise. Starting with under 100K, he pulled out his classic speech play and savvy moves to chip up, finding a big double after chasing down a gutshot straight.

    Drama Around the Bubble

As the money bubble crept closer, the pace slowed, but the tension ramped up. Danilo Sato made a huge river call to double with a full house, and John Friel survived a brutal queens-versus-aces cooler thanks to a miracle queen on the turn, drawing gasps from the room.

    Crowd Reaction Bubble

Cassandra Yong was another standout, winning a massive hand at the feature table when her flopped two pair held up against pocket jacks. After Yuet Wong busted, the bubble officially burst, locking up a £1,000 min-cash for the survivors.

    Big Moves, Big Stacks

From there, it was a sprint to the finish. Alina Costea scored a dramatic double with ace-king against jacks, while Ben Miller crossed the million-chip mark heading into the final break.

    Feature Table

As play wound down, players scrapped hard to make it to Day 3. Tristan Chaplin tripled up late but fell just short, while Kassouf, Getnet Kassa, and Aleks Georgiev bagged some of the biggest stacks in the room.

When the bags finally came out, just 27 players remained.

Top of the Counts Heading into Day 3

William Kassouf leads the way after a huge Day 2 run, bagging up 1,988,000 and 83 big blinds. Right behind him are some big stacks and even bigger storylines, with several players poised to make a deep run at the £38,408 top prize.

  • PartyPoker London 2025; Will Kassouf Talks His Way to Chip Lead in Day 2 of the Main

    Crowd Reaction Bubble

The excitement around PartyPoker’s return to the live scene just keeps building — and Saturday was no exception. An action-packed schedule took over Aspers Casino, with Day 2 of the Main Event delivering bigger fields, bigger prizes, and bigger energy. When it was all said and done, the prize pool swelled to a hefty £216,703.

Up top, there’s a juicy £38,408 waiting for the eventual winner. A total of 124 players kicked off Day 2, and adding to the fun was a livestreamed feature table — with players rotating in and out all day. You can check out the action for yourself.

    A Bloodbath in the Beginning

Coverage picked up right at the start of Day 2, with players barreling toward the money bubble. A 4 PM start gave everyone a little recovery time from Friday night’s players party — but the action wasted no time. Eliminations came fast and furious, and Aleks was the first to bust on the stream table after coming in with just five and a half big blinds.

    Feature Table Overhead

Will Kassouf wasted no time getting busy, as he jumped from table to table. Starting with less than 100K, he used his signature speech play and deep experience to build some momentum. At one point, he chased a gutshot straight draw, hit a six on the river, and led out — putting his opponent all-in. They called, Kassouf showed pocket sevens, and just like that, he chipped up to 404,500.

    The Bubble Approaches

As the bubble crept closer, the action slowed. Danilo Sato found a huge call to chip up after rivering a full house with ace-jack. Then came the stone bubble — just one elimination needed for everyone left to lock up a payday. John Friel looked like he might be that player, running queens into aces — but a queen on the turn kept his hopes alive and sent a collective gasp around the room.

    Cassandra Yong (Right)

Cassandra Yong made her mark at the feature table, winning a huge pot when her flopped two pair held against Gareth Davies’ pocket jacks. Yuet Wong was also all-in, but couldn’t survive, and the rest of the field locked up a min-cash of £1,000.

The ladies continued to run pure. Alina Costea found herself all-in with ace-king against jacks, and after some drama on the flop and turn, a king on the river gave her a huge double. Heading into the break, Ben Miller was the only player over a million chips, sitting comfortably with 1,436,000.

Eliminations A Plenty as Players Brawled to Bag

As the night wore on, players battled hard to make it to Day 3. Tristan Chaplin stole the spotlight late, tripling up with pocket jacks and getting involved in several big pots. Meanwhile, Kassouf (2,345,000), Getnet Kassa (1,740,000), and Aleks Georgiev (1,370,000) led the way at the final break.

Chaplin doubled through Paul Moyce, leaving Moyce with barely one big blind. But Moyce wasn’t done yet — he clawed back with a double, then found another when he jammed [8c9c] and spiked an eight to beat Chaplin’s ace-jack. A gritty fight to the end, but eventually play wrapped up with 27 players bagging for Day 3.

  • PartyPoker Tour London; Day 2 Set to Begin Shortly

Day 1d will finish shortly, and Day 2 will commence just after it’s end. Originally scheduled for 4pm, the tournament has a combined field of 491 entries. This combined for a prize pool of £216,703, and 107 players will start Day 2. The clock will roll back to Level 12 with blinds 1,500/3,000, and a 3,000 Ante.

    Early Stages of Day 1b

Karim Louis found a hot start. He sat nearly double the starting stack after calling two streets and spiking a flush on the river. It’s hard to imagine a better start to the day than what happened to Armandas Aurila. He filled the reporting team in on a hand that occurred three hands into the day.

He flopped a full house with pocket queens on the QAA board. An all in and call occurred between him and Neil McCullough who tabled ace-king. Aurila held to soar to 102,000 super early into the flight. The crowd was loaded with familar faces, as many runners from the Mini Main event hopped into the action.

PartyPoker London Invitation Sit & Go is Entertainment At It’s Finest

While the Main Event action rolled on, there was plenty of laughter and banter coming from the TV table, where the PartyPoker London Invitational Sit N’ Go was in full swing. The Staple brothers, Glenn Brown, and Day 1a chip leader Alexander Georgie were among the players battling it out in a fast-paced 9-handed turbo.

In the end, it was Konstantin Zerdev who stole the show, scooping up seven of the eight bounties to take the win. The whole Sit N’ Go was live-streamed, with George Sandford leading the commentary and bringing in a few guests along the way.

Day 1b Ramps to a Thrilling Conclusion

Back in the Main Event, things started to get a little more intense as the Day 2 bubble came flying at us. One player trying to build a big stack was Martin Hellmuth, fresh off a third-place finish in yesterday’s £150 Mini Main Event. Hellmuth showed off the same sharp poker skills we saw then and managed to run up a solid stack. But right near the end of the night, Christoph Knight picked off one of Hellmuth’s bluffs and took a big bite out of his chips.

The anticipated return of PartyPoker on the live poker scene just keeps getting better by the day. Friday wouldn’t be an exception, as there was an action-packed schedule of activities at Aspers Casino. Not only were there two flights of the £500 Main Event on the schedule, but also the hyped Players Party, which attracted many poker enthusiasts who sought a good time away from the tables.

    Off to the Races

Out of all the golden nuggets listed above, the poker.pro live coverage primarily focused on Day 1b of the Main Event. Friday in London equals fun, and thus, this was deemed to be one of the largest starting flights of the tournament. This would prove to be right, as the number of entries had reached 190 by the time late registration closed. But we’ll get to that eventually; first, let’s take a look at what went down during the earlier stages of the tournament.

The tournament kicked off at noon, but when play reached a somewhat more significant stage at 14:00, the poker.pro team was on-site, ready to cover every ounce of action going down in the impeccable poker room at Aspers.

Players focused during Day 1b of the £500 Main Event.

And boy, did the action ramp up. Certain players were able to accumulate many chips at a rapid speed. One of them was Tristan Chaplin, who already at Level 4 did what may have been the call of the tournament. Another one was Armandas Aurila who, during his third hand of the tournament, managed to get on the right side of a cooler situation. Aurila waved the reporters over to tell us the hand a few minutes later; it’s always nice when players have interesting things to share with us.

    The Crucial Stage

Eventually, the players went on a 30-minute dinner break, and when they returned, late registration was closed, and it was announced that 48 players would join the 37 from yesterday’s Day 1a in tomorrow’s Day 2.

The line-up of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour London Celebrity Sit N’ Go Invitational.

While play kept on going, there were a lot of laughs and banter from the TV table, where the PartyPoker London Invitational Sit N’ Go was in full swing. Players such as the Staple brothers, Glenn Brown, and Day 1a chip leader Alexander Georgie were battling it out in a 9-handed turbo Sit N’ Go. Konstantin Zerdev would be crowned the winner of this affair, claiming seven out of the eight bounties. The Sit N’ Go was live-streamed, and George Sandford was the primary commentator, bringing various guests on to the broadcast.

Konstantin Zerdev won the Celebrity Sit N’ Go.

Back to the Main Event, where the atmosphere, naturally, got a little more tense as the Day 2 bubble approached at rapid speed. One looking to secure a big stack was Martin Hellmuth, who finished third in yesterday’s £150 Mini Main Event. Displaying the great poker skills that we saw yesterday, Hellmuth built up quite the stack. Unfortunately for him, during the last half hour, Christoph Knight called one of Hellmuth’s bluffs and took a large chunk out of his chips.

    The Next Chapter

Eventually, the bubble burst, and the players could exhale. They had made Day 2 and are set to return tomorrow, when the battle will commence. Tomorrow, the ITM stage of the tournament will be reached.

In this current moment, Day 1c is still going on, and the hyper turbo-flight Day 1d will kick things off tomorrow at 11:00, before Day 2 commences at 16:00. While we don’t know the amount of players that will return to Day 2 as that depends on the outcome of the two currently unfinished flights, we know that the clock will roll back to Level 12 with blinds 1,500/3,000, and a 3,000 Ante.

We also know that 70 % of the Day 2 field will be in the money, and that 17,5 % of the field will move on to Day 3.

Christoph Knight bagged the Day 1b chip lead. Will he be able to convert tomorrow?

What we don’t know yet is the chip counts from Day 1b. As soon as we receive these, we will share them with all of you (the same goes for 1c and 1d, obviously). We can already reveal the top 5 biggest stacks, though, where the aforementioned Knight tops the chart after his encounter with Hellmuth.

Once again, we’re delighted that you’ve all been following along with the action today, and we can’t wait to be back again tomorrow. We will kick off the live coverage with the start of Day 2 at 16:00. See you then!

  • A Short History Lesson

Everyone’s probobly aware at this point that the 2025 PartyPoker Tour London is the very anticipated comeback for PartyPoker on the live poker stage. That begs the question; which was the most recent event?

It took stage on the green island that is Ireland, back in 2023. It was the €3,000 PartyPoker MILLIONS, a tournament that absolutely knocked it out of the park. The 286 entries created a €766,838 prize pool, and a €210,000 first-place payout that was sought by many.

Michel Molenaar after winning the €3,000 partypoker MILLIONS in Dublin 2023.
Michel Molenaar after winning the €3,000 partypoker MILLIONS in Dublin 2023.

The winner was no one other than Michel Molenaar, who received high praise for his win, seeing as he was only 24 years old at that point. By many, he’s known as a Dutch prodigy.

Molenaar is on-site at Aspers, competing for back-to-back wins in PartyPoker live events. It’s safe to say he’s in good form; the Dutchman came straight from Dublin, where he had a deep run in the 2025 Irish Poker Open.

Yesterday, he played Day 1a of the £500 PartyPoker Tour London Main Event, and bagged 146,000. His partner in crime, Cassandra Yong, also secured advancement to Day 2 as she secured a 125,000 stack.

On the 4 river, McCulloch bet 5,000. Aurila went all in for roughly 33,000, and McCulloch snap-called.

    Neil McCullough: AK
    Armandas Aurila: QQ

Big pot for Aurila, especially considering it was his third hand of the tournament.

The Final Table of the £500 Main Event.
The Final Table of the £500 Main Event.
