Georgios Gializis Wins First Trophy in Big Bounty
They played down to the final table pretty quickly in this one, but the final few eliminations took quite a while to work through. They played for a couple of levels three-handed before Gializis sent 3rd-place John Phan to the rail. That got him heads up against DJ Sharma, who was heads up for the second time in two nights here on the PPT.
He was still at a disadvantage, however, as Sharma had largely run over the table to that point. He collected 13 bounties (Gializis had 11, including his own, at the end) and was 2:1 up on Gializis when heads up began and Gializis wasn’t able to make much headway until a huge all-in cooler saw him flop a set of fours against Sharma’s ace-queen. That gave him a huge double and left Sharma on around 200k.
He chipped back up to a million with aggressive play, but his time ran out when he blind shoved and Gializis woke up with a premium, ace-ten of hearts. The money was in, and Gializis spiked aces full to cap Sharma’s threes full.

DJ Sharma Out in 2nd Place for $6,397
Level: 24 (20000/40000/40000) Entries: 1/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) DJ Sharma For the second night in a row, DJ Sharma had to settle for second place. He was heads up last night against Devon Jacobs, and couldn’t quite finish it out. Tonight, in the $560 Big Bounty, he got heads up again, but this time, it was Georgios Gializis who got the better of him.
Sharma held the lead for most of heads up, but a big flip that went Gializis’ way was the difference. Gializis was playing pocket fours against Sharma’s ace-queen suited. Sharma turned a queen, but unfortunately for him, Gializis has already flopped a set. That left Sharma very short and shortly after he got it in blind with six-three and ran into ace-ten of hearts.
They both ran out to boats, but the aces full of threes for Gializis was better than the threes full of aces for Sharma, and he was out in second place for the second night in a row.

Gializis Doubles to Lead
Level: 24 (20000/40000/40000) Entries: 2/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) DJ Sharma raised to 80k, then snapped it off when Georgios Gializis shoved. It was a race between ace-queen for Sharma and pocket fours for Gializis, and a four on the flop sealed the deal. That put Gializis a bit over 2 million with Sharma down to about 1 million.
-
John Phan Out in
Level: 24 (20000/40000/40000) Entries: 2/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) John Phan John Phan had been surviving on the short stack, but it all got in preflop blind on blind against Georgios Gializis. Phan had the best of it with ace-seven against king-queen for Gializis. There was a king on the flop, and it held to send Phan out in 3rd place.
-
Still Three Ways; Sharma Leads
Level: 24 (20000/40000/40000) Entries: 3/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) They are still three-handed, and have been for almost two full levels. Level: 22 (15000/25000/25000) Entries: 3/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) Johnny Dalphond Johnny Dalphond just got coolered out in 4th place. He three-bet over an open from Georgios Gializis, then snap-called when Gializis shoved.
Dalphond had queens against nines, but Gializis spiked a nine on the flop and held. That left Dalphond on fumes, and he was out the next hand with his bounty chip going to DJ Sharma.
-
Jordan Panas Out in 5th Place for $2,463
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 4/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) Jordan Panas Jordan Panas ran into the unstoppable force of DJ Sharma. Sharma doesn’t like it when people limp his big blind, but that’s what Panas decided to do from the small blind.
“I might just shove blind,” Sharma said, before doing just that. Panas snap-called him with the best, king-queen into ten-five, but Sharma hit a five on the flop and turned a ten for two pair, leaving Panas to collect 5th place money.
-
Ryan Cairns Out in 6th Place for $1,951
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 5/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) Ryan Cairns Ryan Cairns shoved his button, and Jordan Panas called from the big blind. It was a race between ace-king for Cairns and pocket sixes for Panas. The sixes held despite Cairns turning straight and flush outs, and he was out in 6th place.

Level: 20 (10000815000/15000) Entries: 6/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) John Phan raised to 30k early, and DJ Sharma called from the big blind. Sharma check-called for 30k on the Q♠5♦9♠ flop, then led for 66k on the 6♦ turn. Phan came over the top with a shove that covered Sharma, and Sharma hit the tank.
“Can you really beat two pair?” Sharma asked. He finally mucked, showing nine-five for bottom two. Phan showed queen-nine for top two and a hand that would have sent Sharma to the rail with a call.
-
Randy Logan Out in 7th Place for $1,535
Level: 20 (10000/15000/15000) Entries: 6/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) Randy Logan I missed the action while writing the previous hand, but Randy Logan was the 7th-place finisher tonight for $1,535. That leaves six players still fighting for the trophy.
-
Jeff Clarke Out in 8th Place for $1,215
Level: 20 (10000/15000/15000) Entries: 7/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) Jeff Clarke It was a crazy hand that saw Jeff Clarke hit the rail for 8th. DJ Sharma raised to 30k before John Phan shoved 207k from the hijack. If folded to Jeff Clarke in the big blind, and he jammed for 165k.
Sharma hit the tank for a bit, but ultimately called to try to take two people out, but he was in rough shape with ace-nine against ace-ten for Clarke and king-queen for Phan. Phan spiked a queen on the 8♦Q♥10♦6♣4♠ runout, and got close to a triple up while collecting Clarke’s bounty. The hand left Sharma on around 250k while sending Phan into the 500s.
-
Malcolm Bolger Out in 9th Place for $991

“I feel like a rose between two thorns,” Clarke quipped as he mucked his hand. Bolger snapped it off, showing aces against the ten-seven of diamonds for Sharma. The aces held, and Bolger chipped up to more than 400k, while Sharma is down to arond 200k.

I’m still watching the heads up battle in Event #3 between Jimmy Lee and Dallas Larson, so I’m not watching this one very closely yet, but I just had a look around at the stacks and it looks like DJ Sharma is once again on top of the world, and the chip counts, looking to do one better than his runner-up spot last night.
Wayne Halabi, Vince Lam, Jordan Panas, George Gializzi, Avery Aloneissi, Ryan Cairns, Mike X, Johnny Dalphond, Shane Hall, John Phan, Sharma, Jeff Clarke, Malcolm Bolger, Randy Logan, Brett Doty, and Colten Yamagishi are the remaining players.

Sharma Time Again?
Level: 6 (300/600/600 Entries: 56/103 Prizes: $48,925 ($29,355 prizes, $20,600 bounties) Last night, the Social and poker rooms were full of “Sharma TIME” shouts as DJ Sharma made his way to second place in Event #5. It sounds like he might be doing the same tonight as he just sent a couple of players to the rail when his pocket nines held for a big pot and some bounty chips.
There are now about 90 minutes left to enter this one.

More than $40k in Prizes
Level: 5 (300/500/500) Entries: 59/89 Prizes: $42,275 ($25,365 prizes, $17,800 bounties) The Event #6 field is up to 89 entries with about 10 minutes to play in Level 5. That puts more than $42k into the combined prizes, with $17,800 reserved for bounties and $25,365 going into the payouts for the top 10% later tonight. Entries for this one are still open for more than 2 hours, so it seems like a lock to see a field of 100+. If they get to 106 entries, it will be a combined prize pool of more than $50k.
-
Nearing $30k in Prizes
Level: 3 (200/300/300) Entries: 49/60 Prizes: $28,500 ($17,100 prizes, $12,000 bounties) There are about 20 minutes to play in Level 3 and the field has just hit 60 entries. There are still more than 3 hours to enter this game, so it’s looking like another field of 100+. Mario Gauthier, Mike X, Brett Worton, and Lynne Stephenson are a few of the players active in this one.
-
55 Entries in Level 2
Level: 2 (100/200/200) Entries: 45/55 Prizes: $26,125 ($15,675 prizes, $11,000 bounties) The side game has nearly finished two levels of play, and the field is at 55 entries. That puts more than $26k into the combined prizes, with $11k of that reserved for bounties and the rest in the prize pool for the end of the night.
Ed Zurawell, Colten Yamagishi, Maru Somers, Ivanna Yatsiuk, Rob Lothian, Malcolm Bolger, and winner of Event #4, Tony Comely, are among the players at the felt for this one.

Wayne Halabi, Vince Lam, Jordan Panas, George Gializzi, Avery Aloneissi, Ryan Cairns, Mike X, Johnny Dalphond, Shane Hall, John Phan, Sharma, Jeff Clarke, Malcolm Bolger, Randy Logan, Brett Doty, and Colten Yamagishi are the remaining players.

Corrected Prizes
Level: 13 (1500/3000/3000) Entries: 23/124 Prizes: $58,900 ($34,100 prizes, $24,800 bounties) The prizes were initially posted incorrectly on the board, and I eagerly grabbed them and posted them. I then resumed watching Event #3 and didn’t notice they’d been changed. The correct prizes are below and posted under the Payouts tab. Also, the structure accidentally skipped the 1500/3000/3000 level, but it has been added as Level 13.
Place Prize 1 $9,284 2 $6,397 3 $4,158 4 $3,198 5 $2,463 6 $1,951 7 $1,535 8 $1,215 9 $991 10 $799 11 $735 12 $735 13 $639 -
