  • Martin Campeau Wins Deepstack Hyper for $6,850

    Level:28 (50000/100000/100000)
    Entries:1/92
    Prizes:$23,598

The Deepstack Hyper is over with Martin Campeau taking the win. He was the short stack going into heads-up, but ace-eight was his lucky hand. In his first double, he cracked Jo Teliani’s ace-eight with trip tens to double into the lead, then found ace-eight himself against Reliani’s king-jack. He hit his ace on a paired board for aces and fives, eight high to take it down. Campeau requested no winner’s photo, but he is pictured above from the final table faces.

  • Teliani Leads Heads Up

    Level:28 (50000/100000/100000)
    Entries:2/92
    Prizes:$23,598

Jo Teliani leads the final two players in the Deepstack Hyper. She has 2.315 million to Martin Campeau’s 1.37 million, with blinds at 50k/100k/100k for 23 vs 13 bigs right now.

  • In the Money in Deepstack Hyper

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:10/92
    Prizes:$23,598

The Deepstack Hyper is now in the Money with 10 players left, after playing just a few hands with the clock paused on the bubble. The clock is now running again, and they’ll be racing to the finish, with the average stack right now at less than 15 bigs.

  • 3 Off the Money in Deepstack Hyper

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:13/92
    Prizes:$23,598

They are down to 13 left in the Deepstack Hyper now, three away from the ten paid spots. I don’t have a good handle on the chips for this one, but below is a list of the remaining players and how they are seated, but it looks liek Rob Lothian is leading right now with about 700k in front of him, while Jo Teliani is playing more than 500k for what appears to be second place.

  • 11 Off the Money

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:21/92
    Prizes:$23,598

The side game is down to 21 players left, putting the just 11 players away from the money spots. The average stack right now is just over 20 bigs, and it isn’t likely to get any deeper with 15-minute blind levels. Expect this game to hit the bubble in a similar time frame to Event #10, and then finish quicker.

  • 92 Unofficial Entries on the Side

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:36/92
    Prizes:$23,598

Entries are closed on the Deepstack Hyper with 92 entries on the board. I am still waiting for the prizes to go up to confirm the numbers, but it looks like 10 players will get a piece of $23,598 in prizes later tonight. I expect this game to play very quickly from here, with this game playing through its final 36 players faster than E10 plays through its final 21 players.

  • 80 Entries with 30 Minutes to go in Reg

    Level:10 (1000/1500/1500)
    Entries:48/80
    Prizes:$20,520

The prizes are now over $20k with 80 entries on the board. Level 8 has a bit more than 5 minutes to play, which puts the end of entries a bit more than 30 minutes away. Maddie Sharma has recently entered the game, taking up her husband DJ’s first seat of the night, which he vacated for a rebuy shortly before Maddie bought in.

  • Up to 70 Entries With an Hour to go in Reg

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:48/70
    Prizes:$17,955

There is just under an hour left to enter the Deepstack Hyper tonight, with the field currently at 70 entries. It seems they may fall slightly short of my 100+ estimate, but this game does tend to bring a lot of rebuys right up to the end of entries, as players are still buying in for 20 bigs in the final level of entry, and have more than 10 when they sit down after entries close.

DJ “Sharma Time” Sharma has moved from the $560 into this one and is battling away alongside other players like Ali Khani, Brian Wells, Kennet Budd (who was runner-up in the PLO Bounty last night), and Mike Malm, who is also over in this one from Event #10 and was runner-up in yesterday’s 6-Max game.

  • Nearly 50 Entries in Level 5

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:41/47
    Prizes:$12,056

The field is nearing 50 entries with a bit more than 5 minutes to play in Level 5. There is one more level of poker after this one, followed by the first break of the day. After that, there are five more levels of poker plus another break before entries close, so there’s still lots of time for the current number to double or more. Kris Steinbach was among the more recent entries to the game tonight.

  • 35 Entries Early in Deepstack Hyper

    Level:3 (200/300/300)
    Entries:33/35
    Prizes:$8,978

Level 3 is about half complete, with 35 entries on the board and 33 players in their seats. Entries are still open for about 3.5 hours, and I expect this field to get 100 or more, but time will tell how good my predictive abilities are this week.

Paul “Squirrel” Meyer, Rob Lothian, Mike Aloneissi, Ryane Sanders, Leo Brouwer, Shane Hall, and Dale “Soupy” Campbell are among the players in their seats early for this one.

  • Two-Card Deepstack Hyper on the Wednesday Side

    Date:Nov 26, 5 PM
    Blinds:15 Minutes
    Starting Stack:40k
    Late Entry:11 Levels (~9:15 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

Wednesday’s side event is the two-card redux of the Deepstack Hyper format. The format combines deepstack poker with lightning-fast blind levels to provide a game that drives action.

The game kicks off at 5 PM, and players have 11 levels to buy in or rebuy. Including the breaks, that should put the end of entries at about 9:15 PM tonight. After that, it will be a race to the trophy.

Jeff Clarke, Winner of Deepstack Hyper

In September’s series, Jeff Clarke was the player who took this one down, heads up over Shane Hall. He prevailed over a field of 67 entries for the biggest share of $17,186 in prizes.

Typically, this game plays very quickly, and it’s likely that it will finish earlier, or around the same time, as Event #10, which is my maon focus for the day. That means there’s every chance I won’t be able to cover this one outside of numbers and results, but I’ll do my best to manage both games.
