  • Ryan Comey Wins PLO Main for $28,110

Ryan Comely is the PLO champ in this series, as he has just taken down the PLO Main. Earlier in the week, Comlely bagged the win in the $560 NLH game, and now he’s come through for the win in the PLO Main as well.

Comely was one of the shorter stacks coming back into the money play for today, with his heads-up opponent, Cam Stewart, in the lead. Comely played a patient game through the day to stay alive, and when he got heads up against Stewart, he was about 3:1 down.

That changed in a hurry when Comely hit a runner-runner straight for a double to the lead, and then, just a few hands later, found another straight to the ten to crack the two-pair for Stewart and take down the win. It’s unclear whether Comely will jump into the two-card Main flight today, but either way, it’s a lock that he’ll be taking a shot tomorrow.

  • Cam Stewart Out in 2nd Place for $19,380

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:1/75
    Prizes:$96,188
    Cam Stewart

Cam Stewart has had a pretty good run in the last couple of PPT series. In September, he found multiple final tables and two heads-up situations. This time around, he’s been back to the final table a couple of times, and just got heads up in the PLO Main against Ryan Comely, who was fresh off his recent PLO Bounty win the other night.

Unfortunately for Stewart, second seems the best he can manage lately, as once again he fell in heads-up play. He had the chip lead all the way through the money play, up until the endgame against Comely. Two hands changed it up.

In the first, Comely rivered a straight to the king to crack a set of kings for Stewart. That doubled Comely into the lead, and just a few hands later, Stewart limped the button, then called when Comely made it 90k.

On the flop of K26, Comely fired 210k, and Stewart called. The money went in on the 7 turn when Comely potted, then called off when Stewart shoved his remaining chips. Stewart was on two pair with K963 against top pair for Comely with AK109.

The runout was all Comely with the river 8 hitting him in the gut for the ten-high straight and the win.

  • Comely Doubles to the Lead

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:2/75
    Prizes:$96,188

Cam Stewart potted the button to 90k, Ryan Comely repotted to 270k, then called when Stewart shoved. Stewart was ahead pre with AKKQ against QJJ7 for Comely, but when the 10Q69K board was complete, Comely was straight to the king for the win. He had 1.155 million before the hand, so is now playing the lead with about 2.3 million to about 1.4 million for Stewart.

  • Adrian Baran Out in 3rd Place for $12,595

    Level:23 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:2/75
    Prizes:$96,188
    Adrian Baran

Adrian Baran was the short stack, and he ended his day in 3rd place today for the first five-figure payout from today’s game. I missed the action, but it looks like Ryan Comely’s stack of 965k now contains the chips that Baran was playing, while Cam Stewart is still the big leader with nearly 3 million to play with.

  • Stewart With Big Lead

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:3/75
    Prizes:$96,188

Cam Stewart has been leading in the money the whole way, and he’s still sitting on the big stack. He has about 3 million in front of him, with Ryan Comely on about 550k and Adrian Baran on the short stack with about 220k.

  • Comely Gets One on the River

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:3/75
    Prizes:$96,188

Ryan Comely limped the small blind into Adrian Baran, and he checked his option to a flop of 247. Comely bet 40k and Baran called to the 10 turn.

Comely potted to 155k and Baran called to see 2 on the river. Comely shoved the rest of his stack, and Baran eventually folded. Conely showed 985 while leaving his fourth card down, but said he was jack-high as he collected the pot.

  • Mike Malm Out in 4th Place for $9,690

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:3/75
    Prizes:$96,188
    Mike Malm

Mike Malm, who was the 2024 API Player of the Year and is leading the race for 2025 as well, just took the last payout under $10k after he got his money in with kings. Adrian Baran called him off with an ace-queen, and despite Malm hitting trip eights, Baran found a two outer to bigger trips to take down the pot.

  • Scot Munro Out in 5th Place for $7,460

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:4/75
    Prizes:$96,188
    Scot Munro

They are down to four now after Scot Munro hit the cage for fith place shortly after the break. He was the short stack at the break and had chipped down to 105k when he shoved his button. Mike Malm called from the small blind with more.

Malm was on Q1098 against KJ43, and when the 24A9A board was complete, Malm’s pair of nines was the winner.

  • Stewart Leading at Break

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)

  • Comely Boats over the Flush

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:5/75
    Prizes:$96,188

Scot Munro limped the button, and Ryan Comely checked his option from the big blind. They both checked the flop of K96, and Comely fired 30k on the 6 turn. Munro called to the 7 river, where Comely fired 100k.

Munro thought he was calling, but accidentally slid out a stack of whites worth 200k. Comely threw in the extra 100k chip for the call, showing [invalid notations] for the running boat against a spade flush for Munro, who only showed his two spades.

  • Tony Comely Out in 6th Place for $5,910

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:5/75
    Prizes:$96,118
    Tony Comely

The PLO Main field is down to 5 left now after Tony Comely cashed out for 6th place today.

  • Kings Take it for Stewart

    Level:20 (10000/15000/15000)
    Entries:6/75
    Prizes:$96,188

Cam Stewart opened the button to 35k, and Scot Munro called from the big blind to the flop of 446. They both checked to the 9 turn, where Munro fired 45k. Stewart called, and the river was 3.

The river action went check-check, and Munro announced “Almost a wheel,” showing ace-deuce. Stewart showed KK95 for kings for the win.

  • Ryan Comely Doubles

    Level:20 (10000/15000/15000)
    Entries:6/75
    Prizes:$96,188

Cam Stewart opened the action early to 35k, and Scot Munro called from the cutoff. Both Ryan Comely and Adrian Baran came along from the blinds to a flop of 749.

Comely fired out a pot bet of 155k, leaving just 38k behind. Baran and Stewart backed out quickly, but Munro hit the tak for a bit before raising to put Comely all in. Comely called with top set showing JJ99 against the wrap for Munro with 101087.

The 2A runout didn’t change anything, and Comely doubled to more than 400k.

  • Angelo Jopek Out in 7th Place for $4,650

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:6/75
    Prizes:$96,188
    Angelo Jopek

Adrian Baran opened to 35k from the hijack, and Angelo Jopek called from the cutoff with a smaller stack. It all kicked off on the [invalid notations], but Baran was on a set of rockets with AA82. The runout didn’t change anything, and Jopek hit the rail for 7th place today.

  • Deron Noksana Out in 8th Place for $3,680

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:7/75
    Prizes:$96,188
    Deron Noksana

They are down to seven left in the PLO Main after Deron Noksana took the 8th place spot today. I missed the action while writing up the previous hand.

  • Munro Forces the Fold

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:8/75
    Prizes:$96,188

The flop was already out, reading 854. Angelo Jopek was in the big blind and had a bet of 108k in front of him, but Scot Munro, from the hijack, reraised to 350k, sending Jopek into the tank.

He had about half his stack in for the bet, but after a bit more than a minute of staring at the board, he sent his hand to the muck. Munro showed a pair of sixes, which at least blocked the straights on board, and Jopek commented, “That would be a sick bluff id you didn’t have it. Pretty sure you had it.” Munro just smiled as he collected the pot.

  • 8 Left in PLO Main

    Level:16 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:8/75
    Prizes:$96,188

The PLO Main is on their first break of Day 2 with the conclusion of Level 15. Day 1 ended with about 30 minutes to play in 15, so that’s where they picked things up today.

The short stacks coming into today ended their runs pretty early, with Preston Stevenson out first for 10th, followed quickly by Michael Baldwin in 9th.

  • 28 Remain in Level 12

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:28/75
    Prizes:$96,188

25 minutes remain in Level 12, and the field is down to 28 players left. That should put them 18 players off the bags for tonight, but I’m still waiting on the prizes to confirm all the numbers. I’m still predicting 10 bags with $96,188 to play for on Day 2.

  • 75 Entries at End of Reg

    Level:10 (1000/1500/1500)
    Entries:39/75
    Prizes:$96,188

While I am still waiting on the numbers to be confirmed, it looks like the PLO Main will be playing for just shy of $100k. There are 75 entries on the board at the end of registration, and 39 players are still in action.

If these numbers hold, then 10 players will bag chips later tonight and return tomorrow to fight for a piece of $96,188 in total prizes. I’ll confirm those numbers when the prizes are posted shortly.

  • Teliani Leads at Break with Nearly $95k in Prizes

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:41/74
    Prizes:$94,905

It looks like Nu Teliani is leading the way as players are just about to return from dinner. Entries will close when they sit down again in less than 5 minutes, so it looks like this game will close entries with around $95k in total prizes, a decent showing for the first running of this format.

  • Final Level of Entry

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:41/67
    Prizes:$85,928

The prizes are now over $85k as Level 9 begins. That puts the PLO Main in the final level of open entry; however, entries will remain open through the 30-minute dinner break that follows this level.

I still expect to see a few more entries before the end of dinner in a bit more than an hour, but it seems likely this game will end with 80 or fewer entries.

  • More than $80k in Prizes

    Level:8 (500/1000/1000)
    Entries:40/64
    Prizes:$82,080

The prizes for the PLO Main are now approaching $85k with 64 entries on the board. Level 8 is about to begin, which leaves them a bit less than 2 hours away from the end of entries.

  • Lu Leads with Nearly $75k in Prizes

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:42/58
    Prizes:$74,385

Yong Lu looks to be leading at the break following Level 6. The players are just about to sit down for Level 7 to play the final three levels of open entry.

Lu has more than 140k in front of him, while Adrian Baran, in town for his first event from Regina, has 124k to play with right now.

    Level:6 (300/600/600)
    Entries:41/54
    Prizes:$69,255

There are just over 20 minutes left in Level 6, with the second break of the day scheduled following this level. After that, there are three more levels of late entry, plus the dinner break, before entries shut down at the start of Level 10 at around 7 PM tonight.

That makes it likely we’ll see 10-20 more entries for this one at least before it shuts down for the night.

  • Jopek Leads 40 Entries on Break

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:35/40
    Prizes:$51,300

The players are just back from their first break of the day, with 40 entries on the board and 35 players at the felt. Angelo Jopek looks to be leading after taking a big pot from Skyler York before the break. He is one of three players with more than twice the start stack now, but there are also a few others who have stacked up well above the start already.

  • Up to 31 Entries to Start Level 3

    Level:3 (200/300/300)
    Entries:29/31
    Prizes:$39,758

Level 3 is about to begin with 31 entries on the board. That puts the prizes at nearly $40k before the first break, with more than 5 hours left to enter the Day 1 action. API Player of the Year for 2024, and leader for 2025, Mike Malm, is among the newer players in a seat, along with Ali Khani, Colte Yamagishi, Brady O’Hara, and Nu Teliani just buying into the game.

  • 18 Players in Opening Level

    Level:1 (100/100/100)
    Entries:18/18
    Prizes:$23,085

Level 1 is nearly complete in the PLO Main with 18 players fighting it out. I expect the numbers to hit at least 50 today, and possibly higher, and there are already a few players in the mix that I haven’t seen in a game so far this week. Adrian Baran is in from Sask for his first game this series, and I also spotted Calgary’s Angelo Jopek at a table for the first time this week in this one. Along with them, I can see Pete Fylyma, Cam Stewart, Kirk Nilson, Nick Milkovich, and Skyer York, among others.

  • PLO Main on Deck for Thursday — With 50k to Start!

    Date:Day 1: Nov 27, Noon
    Day 2: Nov 28, Noon
    Blinds:40 Minutes
Starting Stack:50k (Note: this is a change from the published structure)
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~7 PM)
Day 1 Ends:12.5% of the Starting Field

Thursday’s main action is the PLO Main. This game looks to be replacing a smaller $450 PLO game that ran in this slot during the last series, and is something of a renewal of the High Roller with an extra two cards.

The Day 1 action gets going on Thursday at Noon. The blinds are 40 minutes long, and players have 7 hours to enter the game, with the desk set to close at 7 PM when they sit down for Level 10. After that, they’ll play down to 12.5% of the starting field before bagging up to return for Day 2 on Friday, with all players in the money.

Players should note that there has been an update to the structure, and players will get 50k in chips for their $1,500 buy-in, making the game a bit deeper than the original 40k. This game will be my main focus on Thursday, and I should be on the floor pretty close to the start of play, depending on how late Wednesday ends up running.

They’ll take 2 minutes off the clock for each hand from here out until the next elimination, after which they’ll bag up to return tomorrow for the money play.

  • Four Off the Bags

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:14/75

    Entries:7/75
