Michael St. Pierre-Porter Wins 6-Max for $9,334 in Deal

Michael St. Pierre Porter 6-Max Winner 2
Michael St. Pierre Porter 6-Max winner The 6-Max is now complete with Michael St. Pierre-Porter standing atop the 60-entry field. He took the biggest score from nearly $40k in prizes, after the final four players cut an ICM deal while he was in the chip lead.
They came into Day 2 with 7 players remaining, after Calyton Gaudry took the min-cash at the end of Day 1. The final seven were very deep to start the day, but they were still down to five in about an hour. After that, things stalled at five for a while before defending champion Nu Teliani, who had started the day second in chips behind Mike Malm (runner-up for $7,575), ended her day in 5th.
That left the final four discussing a deal, and they finally arrived at what was mostly an ICM chop. Tony Ma and Mike Malm were the short stacks and agreed to $7,575 each, while Joe Roberts got just over $9k for the second stack, and St. Pierre-Porter got $9,334 for the big stack.
After that, they played for the trophy. Roberts & Ma busted quickly, but then Malm and St. Pierre-Porter battled heads up for about half an hour before they finally decided on who was taking home the trophy. It all ended in a bit of a cooler after St. Pierre-Porter flopped a boat with deuces on a deuce-four-four flop. Malm was on an overpair of jacks, and when the turn came an eight, the money went in.
St. Pierre-Porter held, but was slightly out-chipped by Malm. However, the hand left Malm with less than 100k, and he lost that in the next hand to send the trophy to St. Pierre-Porter for his third PPT win.

Mike Malm Out in 2nd Place for $7,575
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 2/60 Prizes: $39,900
Mike Malm 6-Max Michael St. Pierre-Porter just jumped into a huge lead after he flopped a set of ducks against Mike Malm’s jacks. Malm opened the button to 60k, and St. Pierre-Porter called.
On the 4♣2♥4♥ flop, St. Pierre-Porter check-called for 30k. The 8♦ turn is where it all kicked off. St. Pierre-Porter checked again, then shoved after Malm made it 190k. Malm called with an overpair of jacks, but it was no good against the flopped boat with deuces for St. Pierre-Porter.
Malm was dead to a jack or a four, and neither came when the river bricked. Malm technically had the biggest stack at the time, but he covered St. Pierre-Porter by less than 100k, so he was on fumes after the hand, and the rest went in shortly after to send the trophy to St. Pierre-Porter.

Still Battling for the Trophy
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 2/60 Prizes: $39,900 Mike Malm and Michael St. Pierre-Porter are still battling heads up. In the most recent hand, he flopped a straight versus Malm’s two pair, and he held for the win to get back to even.

Level: 17 (4000/8000/8000) Entries: 5/60 Prizes: $39,900 Michael St. Pierre-Porter is in the lead as Level 17 is about to kick off. He got most of those chips in the last level when he won a race against Joseph Roberts for a double to stay alive, and has chipped up a bit more since then. There are still almost 300 big blinds in play, so the action is still very deep, with Nu Teliani’s short stack still playing 28 bigs.

They both checked the 4♠4♦Q♣ flop, and after a check from Teliani on the 3♥ turn, Ma fired 18k. Teliani called to the 3♣ river, where she led for 15k. Ma called and showed pocket aces once again, while Teliani mucked her hand to send another pot to Ma with aces.

The field is still pretty deep, with nearly 600 big blinds still on the table between the final 7 players, so today could be a bit of a marathon before the prizes are finally sorted out.

St. Pierre-Porter is on his heels a bit, getting back to even but not managing to get much more than that. In the most recent hand, he flopped a straight versus Malm’s two pair, and he held for the win to get back to even.

St. Pierre-Porter Leads to Start Level 17

Level: 14 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 7/60 Prizes: $39,900 The final seven players are in their seats for the start of Day 2, and cards will be in the air shortly. They are returning for 3:30 remaining in Level 14 with blinds at 2k/4k/4k, and today’s action will proceed until the winner is crowned.
The field is still pretty deep, with nearly 600 big blinds still on the table between the final 7 players, so today could be a bit of a marathon before the prizes are finally sorted out.

Event #7: $780 NLH 6-Max ($700 + $80)
Date: Day 1: Nov 24, 1 PM
Day 2: Nov 25, 1 PMBlinds: 40 Minutes Starting Stack: 40k Entries: 7/60 Prizes: $39,900 Day 2 of the 6-Max is set, with seven players returning. There were 60 entries on Day 1 by the time the registration desk closed, digging a prize pool almost $40k deep
The left 8 players in the money, but Clayton Gaudry took the 8th place min-cash just before the end of Day 1 play, leaving just seven players remaining. Gaudry earned $1,155 for the min-cash, and all players returning for Day 2 are guaranteed at least $1,475.
2024 Alberta Poker Index Player of the Year, Mike Malm, leads the way into the final day. He has more than 660k, for 166 big blinds, and is well in front. It won’t be an easy run to the trophy for him, as the other six players aren’t exactly “dead seats” in this one.
