  • Final Three Players Cut a Deal

    Zhi Jiang (L – 3rd), Jerry Li (M – 1st), & Eric Wasylenko (R – 2nd)

The Megastack Day 2 is over when the final three players decided to chop it up, ICM-style. Jerry Li took the win for $33,643, Eric Wasylenko took second for $28,463, and Zhi Jiang took 3rd for $24,947 after the deal. They chose to make the deal with the stacks very deep, and all three players itching to get into today’s Main Event flight.

  • Ben Locker Out in 4th Place for $13,633

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:3/410
    Prizes:$194,740
    Ben Locker

Ben Locker just ran into it for 4th place. I missed the preflop action, but on the flop of K68 Eric Wasylenko check-called 65k from the big blind.

Both players checked the J turn, and Wasylenko fired 150k on the J river. Locker came over the top to 400k, then snap-called when Wasy shoved the covering stack.

It was a huge cooler with Locker on AJ against J8 for the boat for Wasy.

  • Cody Richardson Out in 5th Place for $10,711

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:4/410
    Prizes:$194,750
    Cody Richardson

Eric Wasylenko shoved the small blind and Cody Richardson called with less from the big. He had ace-deuce against the king-queen for Wasy, but Wasy smashed the KQ348 board for two pair and the win.

  • Five Players Remain

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:5/410
    Prizes:$194,750

They are down to five left in the Megastack. I was out of the room for a minute and missed the action, but Sin Koracevic ended up in 7th tonight, while Colten Yamagishi was 6th.

  • Richardson Chips Up; Wasylenko Doubles

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:7/410
    Prizes:$194,750

In the first of two hands, Cody Richardson raised to 100k from the middle, and Jerry Li called from the cutoff. Richardson fired 100k on the AAQ flop, then 180k on the K turn, getting calls both times.

On the river K, Richardson bet 400k, and Li folded, saying “Bad river.”

In the next hand, Zhi Jiang raised to 100k, then tank-called it off when Eric Wasylenko shoved for 730k. Wasy had jacks against ace-five of spades for Jiang, and the jacks held. Wasy has about 1.6 million after the hand to 1.4 million for Jiang, while Li is the big stack with 4.6 million, but Richardson chipped up to about 2 million after his win.

  • Jason Earthy Out in 8th Place for $4,869

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:7/410
    Prizes:$194,750
    Jason Earthy

The field is down to 7 now in Day 2 of the Megastack. Jason Earthy opened under the gun to 100k before Jerry Li three-bet to 330k from the small blind.

After a few seconds of thought, Earthy made it four bets with a shove worth 1.275 million. Li asked for a count, then called it off for a classic race between Li’s ace-king of diamonds and the pocket queens of Earthy.

The flop was not good for Earthy as the board ran out KK1062 to give Li the trip kings and the win. Li is the big stack at the table, and that hand puts him above 4 million.

  • Back in Action

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:8/410
    Prizes:$194,750

The final 8 players are back in action in the Megastack, with the average stack at just over 30 big blinds, but Jerry Li is a big stack right now, while the short stack is barely 10 bigs right now.

We are still waiting for #20 to show up for their cash, though I think it was Ty Adams, but the rest of the recent cashes are listed below.

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:11/410
    Prizes:$194,750

It was a huge cooler when big stack Cody Richardson woke up with kings, but Jason Earthy had aces. The aces held to send Earthy up to about 1.5 million, while Richardson is still playing about 2 million.

  • Mohammadi Notches Another Cash

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:11/410
    Prizes:$194,750
Homan Mohammadi, pictured after winning the PLO Megastack

They are down to 11 after Homan Mohammadi found his third cash in three games. I missed the action, but he’s cashed in every game he’s played so far in the series, including a win in the PLO Megastack the other night.

  • 12 Left

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:12/410
    Prizes:$194,750

They are down to 12 left. Zhun Chen hit the rail shortly after the hand that sent Regan Duong to the rail and sent Zhi Jiang up the counts, and Kris Swanson busted from the same table.

  • Down to 14 Remaining

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:14/410
    Prizes:$194,750

The Day 2 field is down to 14 now after the exits of Michael St Pierre-Porter and Regan Duong. I caught the action for Duong.

Zhun Ruichen raised to 50k before Regan Duong shoved all in for 210k from the cutoff. Zhi Jiang flat called from the small blind, and Ruichen called as well. On the flop of 522, Jiang went all in for his remaining 205k, and Ruichen called.

Duong was on ace-king, but he was up against it with Ruichen on pocket eights and Jiang playing kings. The board ran out 67 and the kings held to send Jiang to around a million, while Ruichen was down to about 340k.

  • Cody Richardson Has Huge Lead for Day 2 of the Megastack

    Date:Aug 8, 1 PM
    Blinds:40 Minutes
    Entries:40/410
    Prizes:$194,750 (1st Place $42,845)

The final day is set with a somewhat shrunken field of 40 players. With 410 entries, there should have been 41 players returning for Day 2 play, in the money, but the end of Day 1a saw a double knockout in the final hand. That meant only 17 bags made it out of Day 1a, and in order to cash in multi-day events at Deerfoot, players MUST put chips in a bag for Day 2.

Cody Richardson bagged the big stack from Day 1b with more than 900k. That was miles ahead of the second stack from 1b, Zhi Jiang with 739k. Both of them capped the 1a leader, Eric Wasylenko, who bagged 659k. Wasy’s heads-up nemesis from the 6-Max, Jerry Li, is nipping at his heels with 633k while Mal Hagan and Homan Mohammadi, both from the West Coast, are playing stacks in the 500k range.

The Day 2 action gets going at 1 PM on Friday, and they’ll play to a winner before they finish. This game will be played alongside the first flight to the Main Event, so expect the Chrome room to be pretty full, with players moving from this game to the Main as they bust. I’ll be focused on this one from the start until a winner is declared, but I’ll try not to ignore the Main Event too much.

  • Cody Richardson Bags Huge in 1b

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:23/233 (40/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($194,750 Combined)

Day 1b is complete, and it took almost exactly the same amount of time as Day 1a. After a bit more than 18 levels of play, 23 players found bags from 1b.

The biggest of the day, and the biggest overall, is Cody Richardson. He surged throughout the day, sitting behind a big stack nearly every time I looked, but he turned it up to 11 in the endgame, finishing with 918k. That’s about 250k more than Day 1a leader Eric Wasylenko, but Richardson isn’t the only one Wasy will have to look up to on Day 2, as Edmonton’s Zhi Jiang bagged more than 700k and is nearly 100k ahead of the 1a stacks.

Homan Mohammadi is also sitting with chips for Day 2. He has literally cashed every game he’s touched in the Summer Superstack since he arrived on Tuesday, and he’ll bring 508k into his third cash in three games. Colten Yamagishi and Ben Locker round out the top five from 1b with stacks in the 400s.

See below for the full stacks from 1b, and stay tuned for a Day 2 opening post that includes seat assignments.

  • Hand for Hand at the Break

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:24/233 (41/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($194,750 Combined)

The final 24 players are on a break and will return for play at 6k/12k/12k hand for hand with one player to go until the bags come out.

  • Two from the Bags

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:25/233 (42/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($194,750 Combined)

Kris Steinbach just busted Day 1b to bring the remaining field down to 25 left. They’ll go hand-for-hand after the next elimination, with the bags coming out after two more busts.

  • Cody Richardson Has More than 700k

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:26/233 (43/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($194,750 Combined)

They are now three players off the bags, with 26 players left. Cody Richardson has taken over the lead with about 720k in front of him now, and if that holds it will be the big stack for Day 2. Zhi Jiang is playing a little more than 600k. Ramaz Haymour has dropped some recently and looks to be playing around 250k, while Regen Duong has chipped up to more than 400k.

  • Four Off the End of the Night

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:27/233 (44/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($194,750 Combined)

They are down to 27 players left on the final three tables of the night, and that will be the last table break today. They are now 4 players off the bags, but with less than 10 minutes to play in Level 17, it looks like the bags will come out in Level 18, barring another long bubble tonight.

  • 8 Off the Bags

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:31/233 (48/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($194,750 Combined)

They are down to 31 now with Level 17 just underway. That puts them 8 players away from the end of the night. It’s possible they’ll find the bags near the end of this level, but it’s more likely they’ll play into Level 18 at least.

  • More Stacks in Level 16

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:35/233 (52/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($194,750 Combined)

They are 12 off the money as Level 16 begins, and it looks like Ramaz Haymour is still the big stack in the room. He’s lost a bit since I last looked, but he’s still in the high 400s, with Cody Richardson (who was 5th in the PLO Megastack yesterday) and Zhi Jiang playing about 400k each. Regen Duong is on about 380k, while Homan Mohammadi and Rick Mask are both playing around 340k.

The average stack right now is 199k, or a bit more than 30 big blinds, but there are quite a few short stacks in the room. It’s likely they still have at least an hour to play tonight, but that will depend on the cards and the short-stack luck.

  • 14 Off the Bags

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:37/233 (54/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($194,750 Combined)

The field is down to 37, with about 10 minutes to play in Level 15. That means they are 14 eliminations off the money. Regan Duong looks to be stacking up with about 350k in front of him, while Homan Mohammadi is close to 300k. They are both at the same table as Ramaz Haymour, who has the big stack still with more than 500k.

  • Haymour Still Leading

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:42/233 (59/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($194,750 Combined)

I’ve just had a look around the stacks, and it looks like Ramaz Haymour still has the big stack with around 600k. Daniel Lefebvre is playing more than 300k, as is Zhi Jiang, and Bash Ramahi is very close to that number as well. It also looked like Michael St Pierre-Porter was playing close to 300k as well.

Level 15 is just underway and they’ll be playing down to 23 tonight, no matter how long it takes. There are 42 players left in the action now, so they still have a fair amount of poker to play before today ends.

  • 410 Entries Confirmed; $42k for the Winner

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:48/233 (65/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($199,175 Combined)

The provisional prizes are in, and the winner is set to pocket more than $42k on Day 2. The prizes are still provisional as they will depend on how many bags there are later tonight.

The action will play down to 23 players at least, but Day 1a saw a double-knockout on the final hand of the evening, leaving one fewer player in the mix than expected. If that happens again tonight, the prizes will have to be rejigged for fewer payouts.

If tonight ends on 23, then 40 players will be sharing in $194,750, with the top spot getting $42,845. The full provisional prizes will be loaded under the Payouts tab shortly, but the top ten prizes are below.

    PlacePrize
    1$42,845
    2$26,291
    3$17,917
    4$13,633
    5$10,711
    6$8,764
    7$6,816
    8$4,869
    9$3,700
    10$2,921
  • Some Big Stacks Late in Entries

    Level:13 (1500/3000/3000)
    Entries:72/233 (89/410 combined)
    Prizes:$110,675 ($199,175 Combined)

It looks like Ramaz Haymour is continuing his big week. He’s playing the big stack right now with around 500k in front of him, and this is just another example of Haymour sitting with chips. He’s already cashed in four events this series, including 3rd in the 6-Max the other night.

Other big stacks include Kris Steinbach with around 300k. He came in today for the game after seeing the big numbers this week and when I chatted with him on the dinner break, he was pretty happy to be in with only one bullet. Shane Brotherwood and Bash Ramahi are also playing big stacks in the 200k range.

Entries for this game are now closed with 233 for 1b, and 410 across both starting days. That puts the total prizes for Day 2 at $199,175.

  • More than 400 COmbined Entries

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:90/224 (107/401 combined)
    Prizes:$106,400 ($194,900 Combined)

The combined field is now at 401 entries with 224 on the board from Day 1b. That puts the total prizes at almost $195k with $200k in sight. There are now about 90 minutes left to enter this final flight to the Megastack.

  • Nearing 400 Combined Entries

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:108/196 (125/373 combined)
    Prizes:$93,100 ($181,600 Combined)

They are 27 entries away from 400 combined entries for this event. That looks like a reasonable number based on the current pace of entries, and that would mean combined prizes of $190k. The players will be on their dinner break in about 10 minutes, with three more levels of entry after dinner.

Players buying in on the dinner break will sit down to Level 10 with about 18 big blinds, with 15 bigs in Level 11, and 12 big blinds in Level 12. Players who wait until the final buzzer to buy in will sit down in Level 13 with 10 big blinds.

  • Nearing 350 Combined Entries

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:108/167 (125/344 combined)
    Prizes:$79,325 ($167,825 Combined)

The second break of the day is now complete, with 167 entries for 1b and 344 across both starting days. There are still about 5 hours left to enter today’s final flight, so those numbers are still looking good for more than 200 entries in today’s flight.

  • Nearly $160k in Combined Prizes

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:146/146 (163/323 combined)
    Prizes:$69,350 ($157,850 Combined)

There are more than 20 minutes remaining in Level 5, and the1b field is nearing 150 entries already. 150 was my estimate for the full Day 1a flight; that one ended up at 177, and given that we are already closing in on 150 today, it’s looking great for a field well over 200 today, with 250 entries still in sight.

  • Nearly 300 Entries After First Break

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:122/122 (139/299 combined)
    Prizes:$57,950 ($146,450 Combined)

The Day 1b field is looking good with 122 entries in the pool after the first break of the day. The big prizes this week are bringing out players, as I saw Dave Howat in the mix for the first time this, as well as Sunny Lubana checking into the hotel. Rob Lothian, Pav Braich, and Ali Razzaq are also down from Edmonton for their first games this series.

One other player to watch today will be Homan Mohammadi. He’s on fire this week after arriving on Tuesday. He’s played two games since he got here — he cashed for 5th place in the 6-Max the day he arrived after being up for nearly 24 hours. Yesterday, he jumped into the PLO Megastack and about 12 hours later, was getting his winner’s photo taken. Given his performance so far, I fully expect to see Mohammadi figuring in the endgame of this one.

  • Final Flight for a Huge Megastack on Deck for Thursday

    Date:Aug 7, Noon
    Blinds:40 Minutes
    Starting Stack:30k
    Late Entry:12 Levels (~9:30 PM)
Day 1 Ends:10% of the Field
    Entries:17/177
    Prizes:$84,075

Day 1a of the Megastack was far bigger than anyone expected. My estimates for the field size were 150 at the top end, and Deerfoot’s conservative prediction was 125 entries.

Instead, 177 entries showed up to continue a series that is considerably larger than the Spring Super Stack. That means there is already $84k in the prize pool, and with an expected turnout on Day 1b 50% higher, that easily predicts a $200k+ prize pool when all the chips are in.

The final flight takes off at noon on Thursday, and entries are open for 9.5 hours. The start stack is 30k, and blinds are 40 minutes for this one. Day 1a played very late, with the bubble lasting a couple of hours, finally ending at about 2 AM in Level 19 with a double bustout that meant only 17 of the predicted 18 bags were present at the end.

The biggest among them belonged to Eric Wasylenko and, not at all coincidentally, he has Jerry Li hot on his heels. They both have more than 600k and, again not coincidentally, they were heads up late into the evening on Tuesday in the 6-Max, with Li prevailing in that one. Mal Hagan only recently arrived from the Left Coast, and he’s sitting pretty nicely in third with 555k, the only player in the 500s. James Chalcroft and Chase Bonertz rounded out the 1a top five with stacks in the low 400s. See the end of Day 1 post for the full 17 stacks.

This is the only game on Thursday, with the exception of the Last Chance Satellite for the Main, so I’ll be focused on this till they bag. Wednesday was another late night for me, however, so don’t expect any updates on 1b until after the first break at least.

  • Eric Wasylenko Leads After Epic Bubble

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:17/177
    Prizes:$84,075

While the two-hour heads-up match in the PLO Megastack was running across the room, the NLH Megastack was in the Never-Ending Bubble. In fact, the two scenarios played out in almost identical time frames, with the bags for this game coming out as I was taking the winner’s photo in the four-card version.

The biggest bag belongs to Eric Wasylenko with 659,000, with Jerry Li hot on his heels with 633k. These two have some recent history, as they were heads up in the 6-Max game last night, with Li prevailing over Wasylenko in that one. Tonight, it was Wasy with the win, while Li played second fiddle. Mal Hagan bagged third with 555k, with James Chalcroft and Chase Bonertz rounding out the top five, both bagging in the low 400s.

One of the reasons for the long day was the massive field for this one. The final tally of 177 entries blew every pregame prediction out of the water, as my prediction was 150, while the Deerfoot staff forecast 125 for this flight. The whopping $84,075 in prizes so far bodes well for a final prize pool well over $200k, with a winner’s prize of $40k or more.

  • Action is Hand for Hand

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:19/177
    Prizes:$84,075

Day 1a is still going on, with hand-for-hand action lasting for more than a level now. They’ll bring the bags out with the next elimination, but no one wants to get it in right now.

  • Still 25 Remaining

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:25/177
    Prizes:$84,075

The action seems to have stalled in Day 1a. I’m not watching it very closely right now as the PLO Megastack is heads up, but this game has been on 25 entries for nearly a full level now, and they still need to get rid of 7 more players before the bags come out.

  • Seven off the Bags

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:25/177
    Prizes:$84,075

The 1a field is down to 25 players now, 7 off the bags. I’ve moved over to cover the final table action in the PLO Megastack, so I’m not watching this one very closely right now. I’ll get the final stacks in once they bag, but the average is still more than 30 bigs, so it could go for a while longer.

  • Final Three Tables

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:27/177
    Prizes:$84,075

They are down to 27 remaining in Day 1a, with 5 minutes to play in Level 15. That puts them nine off the bags, and based on the pace of play I’d expect them still to be playing into Level 17 before the bags come out.

  • Banfield Leading Final 32

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:32/177
    Prizes:$84,075

It looks like Hordan Banfield is the chip leader right now, playing about 320k. I saw a few other stacks in the high 200s out there, but no one else appears to have more than 300k right now.

  • Four Tables Remain

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:36/177
    Prizes:$84,075

The 1a field is down to 36 remaining, with 18 players getting a bag tonight. The average stack is still about 40 big blinds so they are fairly deep still. I’d expect this flight to ge well into Level 16 at least.

  • 177 Entries for 1a

    Level:13 (1500/3000/3000)
    Entries:43/177
    Prizes:$84,075

The final tally for the Megastack Day 1a was 177 entries for prizes of just over $84k. Assuming 1b is the usual 50% increase in field, it’s looking good for prizes of well over $200k with a 1b field in the range og 260 entries.

  • Final Level of Entry

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:69/173
    Prizes:$82,175

They are into the final level of entries for Day 1a of the Megastack game, and it’s been bigger than anyone predicted. The Deerfoot staff had an estimate of 125 entries for today, while I was predicting 150, so 173 and counting is an excellent turnout. Assuming the usual 50% increase for Day 1b, that could be a field of 260 entries for 1b, for a combined prize pool of $210k

  • More than $80k in Prizes

    Level:11 (1000/2000/2000)
    Entries:66/170
    Prizes:$80,750

The 1a field is now up to 170 entries for prizes of just over $80k. There is still a bit more than an hour to get into today’s flight, but I expect the pace to slow over the next hour. This game is already significantly bigger than I predicted, however, and looks like it will end around 180 entries.

  • Nearly $80k in Prizes

    Level:11 (1000/2000/2000)
    Entries:73/165
    Prizes:$78,375

The field is now 4 entries short of $80k in prizes for Day 1a, with about 90 minutes left to enter today’s flight. Players entering during Level 11 will start with 15 big blinds, and 12 big blinds if they enter during Level 12. For players who jump in on the final break of entries, they’ll start Level 13 playing 10 big blinds.

  • Kris S Leads the Way

    Level:10 (800/1600/1600)
    Entries:80/157
    Prizes:$74,575

I had a look around on dinner, and I saw one stack over 200k, belonging to Kris S. There were also a few stacks in the 100k range including Oleksander Lobur (145k), Juilus Roque (143k), Michael St Pierre-Porter (140k), and Angelo Jopek (110k).

  • Nearing $75k in Prizes

    Level:10 (800/1600/1600)
    Entries:77/154
    Prizes:$73,150

The NLH Megastack players are on their dinner break, with about 15 minutes until they are back at the felt for the final three levels of open entry on today’s opening flight. That puts them four entries away from $75k in prizes.

  • Nearing 150 Entries

    Level:8 (500/1000/1000)
    Entries:91/142
    Prizes:$67,450

The prizes for Day 1a are closing in on $70k with 142 entries on the board right now. It looks like a pretty safe bet to cap 150 entries before things close down at about 9:15 tonight. At the moment, it’s looking like a field of 160 or more.

  • More than $60k in Prizes

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:90/130
    Prizes:$61,750

The 1a field is up to 130 entries, with about 30 minutes to play in Level 7. The 45-minute dinner break will be coming after Level 9, with entries open until the end of the break following Level 12. Given the current pace, I’m expecting well over 150 entries before the desk shuts down for today.

DJ Sharma is among the players in the game today, and along with him, I’ve spotted Maru Somers, Amir Khan, Ed Zurawell, Roman Brar, George Yang, Angelo Jopek, Graham Lupton, Shane Brotherwood, Eric Wasylenko, Oleksandr Lobur, David Johnson, Andy Truong, Chris Clisby, Ivanna Yatsiuk, Dale Foyle, Rick Mask, Fatima Nanji, Curtis Singleton, Nick Civitarese, Tony Ma, Justin Meng, Cliff Green, Pam MacNaghton, Jordan Banfield, Philip Roque, and Karim Chatur in the field.

  • Nearing 130 Entries

    Level:6 (300/600/600)
    Entries:98/125
    Prizes:$59,375

The 1a prizes are just shy of $60k, with about 5 minutes to play in Level 6. The second break of the day will come after this Level, but there are still 6 levels of open entry after they return for Level 7. Entries close at about 9:15 tonight, so there’s lots of time to get into this one, plus a full flight tomorrow. With the current pace, I think 400 entries across both starting days is easily within sight. 400 entries would put the prizes at $190k for a first-place prize in the range of $40k.

  • Nearing 120 Entries

    Level:6 (300/600/600)
    Entries:92/119
    Prizes:$56,525

The field is pushing 120 entries with about 30 minutes to play in Level 6. There are 92 players still alive, though that number likely isn’t 100% accurate right now.4

Among the live players I have spotted in the field so far are Homan Mohammadi, Peter Amic, Cris Hillana, Julius Roque, Ron Giles, Weston Pring, and Ty Adams.

  • 100 Entries After First Break

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:82/100
    Prizes:$47,500

The field is at 100, with Level 5 just underway. There are still a bit more than 6 hours to get into this one so I expect the field to grow significantly from here. Given the current pace, I’d expect a final number above 150 for today’s flight, with around 225 for 1b, for a final field in the range of 400.

  • $560 Megastack is Boarding for Flight #1

    Date:Aug 6, Noon
    Blinds:40 Minutes
    Starting Stack:30k
    Late Entry:12 Levels (9:30 PM)
Day 1 Ends:10% of the Field – Play will NOT stop at the End of Level 15 if more than 10% remain

The second multi-day event of the 2025 Summer Super Stack is ready for takeoff. The action kicks off at noon on Wednesday, Aug 6, and players will get 30k in chips for their $560.

Late entries for this one close at the start of Level 13, which gives players 9.5 hours to buy in from the noon start. Note that while the structure sheet shows “End of Day 1″” at the end of Level 15, Day 1 action will proceed as long as necessary to reach 10% of the field — There is no “hard stop” at Level 15 in this one to ensure all Day 2 players are in the money.

There are two flights to this event, and based on the numbers from the opening multi-day game, Event #3, I expect this to be a big one. With one less flight, it’s likely to be smaller than #3, but I’d still expect to see 400+ entries by the time Thursday’s late entry closes. If the field does make it to 400, that would be $190k in prizes, for a likely top prize of $40k or more.

Tuesday’s 6-Max was a long day, so I’ll be late to the floor for this one. I expect to be on task before the second break at the latest, and I’ll follow this one through to the bags as my main focus once I arrive.

  • Eric Wasylenko Leads After Epic Bubble

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)

One of the reasons for the long day was the massive field for this one. The final tally of 177 entries blew every pregame prediction out of the water, as my prediction was 150, while the Deerfoot staff forecast 125 for this flight.

They are down to 8 left right before dinner. I missed the action as I was doing some work on some other events, but Scot Munro ended his day in 10th for his 3rd cash of the series. Curtis Vigoren ended in 9th place.

We are still waiting for #20 to show up for their cash, though I think it was Ty Adams, but the rest of the recent cashes are listed below.

  • Earthy Doubles in Cooler

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:11/410
    Prizes:$194,750

It was a huge cooler when big stack Cody Richardson woke up with kings, but Jason Earthy had aces. The aces held to send Earthy up to about 1.5 million, while Richardson is still playing about 2 million.

Homan Mohammadi, pictured after winning the PLO Megastack

They are down to 11 after Homan Mohammadi found his third cash in three games. I missed the action, but he’s cashed in every game he’s played so far in the series, including a win in the PLO Megastack the other night.

  • 12 Left
