Corey Arsenault Wins Second Ring in Second Game

Corey Arsenault Won his Second Ring in the Final EVent
Rodney Dyck Corey Arsenault said he only entered two tournaments in this series, and he’s leaving WSOP-C Calgary with two Circuit rings. He won the Monster Stack on Thursday, taking down Anthony Casten in one of the wildest heads up matches I’ve ever seen.
Tonight, he got his second ring in five days after winning the turbo edition of the Big 30 Stack on the final day of action. Arsenault’s rise started when he nearly felted Ottawa’s Michael Khan. Khan’s been at more than his share of Calgary final tables, and he picked up fourth tonight, in no small part because of the winner.
In a crucial hand for both players, Khan shoved with ace-jack and Arsenault called with a suited king-four. Arsenault was at risk, with Khan covering him, but he found a king on the flop to double up. That left Khan too short make a comeback, and he was out a couple of hands later.
They played three handed for a bit until Dmytro Nikiforov ran into a brutal cooler. Arsenault shoved over his opening raise, and he tank-called it off with jacks. Arsenault had the goods, though, turning over cowboys and holding to take a big lead into heads up.
He was up about 6:1 over runner up Rodney Dyck, who had been a big leader early at the final table. Dyck found a couple of double ups to stay alive, but his high point wasn’t much more than 2.5 million of the 8 million in play.
In the final hand, Dyck was down to 1.3 million with the big blind at 150k, and shoved with king-four. Arsenault took quite a while to think about it, but finally decided to call with ten-eight of hearts. Dyck flopped the king on ace-nine-king, but the nine gave Arsenault backdoor flush and straight outs. The turn and river six-seven ran straight in through the backdoor for Arsenault’s second ring.
