Heads up was pretty quick. Andy “thegoose” Goosen started heads up with the chip lead, and held it through most of the two-way battle.
That changed in a big hand where Goosen limped the button, then called when Jordan “JBanz” Banfield raised it up to 350k. Banfield led for 200k on the 3♥A♥K♦ flop. Goosen called to the J♥ turn. Banfield fired 650k, and Goosen called.
The river was 5♦ and Banfield shoved 2.18 million. Goosen tanked for a minute or so before he slid in the call. Banfield showed A♠Q♥, which was better than the jack-ten for Goosen. That left Goosen on 350k, and it went in shortly after when he woke up with ace-five. Banfield called it off with ten-six, but flopped his ten and held to take down the game and deny Goosen his second straight KKLive Montreal title.
