Cam Stewart has had a pretty good run in the last couple of PPT series. In September, he found multiple final tables and two heads-up situations. This time around, he’s been back to the final table a couple of times, and just got heads up in the PLO Main against Ryan Comely, who was fresh off his recent PLO Bounty win the other night.
Unfortunately for Stewart, second seems the best he can manage lately, as once again he fell in heads-up play. He had the chip lead all the way through the money play, up until the endgame against Comely. Two hands changed it up.
In the first, Comely rivered a straight to the king to crack a set of kings for Stewart. That doubled Comely into the lead, and just a few hands later, Stewart limped the button, then called when Comely made it 90k.
On the flop of K♣2♠6♥, Comely fired 210k, and Stewart called. The money went in on the 7♥ turn when Comely potted, then called off when Stewart shoved his remaining chips. Stewart was on two pair with K♥9♦6♦3♦ against top pair for Comely with A♦K♠10♠9♦.
The runout was all Comely with the river 8♣ hitting him in the gut for the ten-high straight and the win.
