After Giuseppe Cerri had been taken out in 3rd place, the heads-up encounter began between Moldovan Dan Spataru and Lithuanian V V. Dan had a 30m to 12m chip lead and it only took a few hands before the pair of them got it all-in.

Dan had K♣Q♦ and was well in front of V V, whose K♠4♣ was dominated.
The crowd of onlookers drew closer and Will Kassouf provided a running commentary as the board was dealt out, saying something along the lines of
“oh, put a four down there, you’ll be 4-high like a boss when you iron him out with that monster” said Will, or something similar.

But the deck had other ideas and the 8♥8♠8♦ flop would have been a great final hand board, if this event had one particular online sponsor.
The turn and river of 2♦7♥ was no help for the anonymous Lithuanian and he busted in second for £8,250.

Dan Spataru, originally from Moldova, but a Londoner for the last eleven years, was ecstatic at his victory, the win topping off a truly incredible day for him.
It began a couple of hours into the day, when Dan pulled the biggest bounty of £5,000. But he didn’t stop there, he also claimed bounties of £2,000, £1,000, £500, £300 and several for £200 and £100, pushing his total winnings from the £185 buy-in event to over £20,000.
He has been a truly dominant champion, always looking super focused. It was noticeable to this observer that he was paying far more attention to the game than most of his final table opponents, studying their every moves, even when not involved in hands.
Dan is mostly an online player and had over $27,000 in live cashed before today, with this win of £11,800 (not including bounties) being his biggest win to date. He’s certainly one to watch for the future.
Congratulations to Dan Spataru, the Double Mystery Bounty Main Event Champion at the Beer Poker Tour London!
