Today’s the first Friday of June, and what better place to spend it than in Rozvadov? Today, the 2025 Festival Rozvadov commences at King’s Resort, and eleven days of poker fun await all players who visit this Czech gem of a poker paradise.
The whole shebang kicks off with the €150 Hendon Mob Championship (THMC); this is the tournament that poker.pro will be covering today. More specifically, the eyes will be on Day 1a, which commences at 13:00. Late registration will be open for ten 30-minute levels, and there’s also unlimited re-entry during this period.
Play will not conclude until only 12,5 % of the field remains; those who are lucky enough to still be in it by then will bag their chips for Day 2 (June 8) and be guaranteed a €300 min-cash.
€300,000 Guarantee – In a €150 Tournament?!
Make no mistake about it; this is not the typical €150 tournament. The founding father of the Festival, Martin “Franke” Von Zweigbergk, aims for this to be the biggest THMC event ever. Hence, the guarantee is set to €300,000, an abnormally large number in relation to the shy €150 buy-in.
Today may be Day 1a, but the tournament did, in fact, stealth-start a couple of weeks ago, as a remote flight was held at King’s Casino in Prague. Nine players moved on from this affair, and believe it or not, Franke himself bagged the chip lead, as he finished the day with 871,000.
It’s always a nice achievement to secure the chip lead, and for this tournament, players are even rewarded for it; the one who bags the most chips in each starting day flight wins a €550 ticket for the 2025 Festival Rozvadov Main Event. Quite the cherry on top of an already delicious dessert!
To make things even better, the player who’s crowned the winner on Day 2 will, in addition to the first-place payout and the coveted THMC trophy, also receive a package for the 2025 Hendon Mob Championship Cape Town, valued at roughly €2,000.
The poker.pro live coverage of Day 1a will commence at 13:00 when the first hand is dealt. Results and chip counts will be posted for every starting flight as quickly as possible.
