The Mini Main Event is looking anything but “mini”. The opening flight blew past the 1a numbers for January’s 4-Flight, the previous event that most closely matches this one. 1a saw 15.5% more entries than January’s 4-Flight, and today has already blown past Deerfoot’s estimates for the 1b field.
January’s 1b saw 378 entries, so the field today is ~60 entries from capping that number, with about 4.5 hours left in entries. At this point, a field of ~400 or more for today seems like a pretty easy number to hit.
With the current numbers, the combined field is closing in on 600 already, with prizes of $185k, and it seems like a lock that there will be more than $200k in the prize pool by the time entries on 1b close around 6:15 tonight.
There’s a third flight to this event taking off in the Chrome room at 4 PM today, with the final shot at a Mini Main Event bag coming Saturday morning at 11 AM.
