Dylan Payne had a wild ride in the endgame of this one. He spent the last couple of hours nursing a short stack through what seemed like interminable nine-handed play, then finally watched as he got some ladders as other short stacks busted.
Then he ran into a dream spot, except it was for his last 20k. He had nines, against tens for Deven Lane, and jacks for Praba Siva, so it didn’t look like a great spot until he flopped quad nines. Lane rivered a set of tens on the [invalid notations] but ran into ace-king for Andy Truong. Payne flopped a heart draw, but then bricked when the board ran out 8♥4♥6♣9♠A♣.
