Event #18: $400 NLH Double Stack Closer ($330 + $70)
| Date: | Jan 19, 4 PM |
| Blinds: | 20 Minutes |
| Starting Stack: | 40k |
| Late Entry: | 12 Levels (~8:30 PM) |
| Day 1 Ends: | One-Day Event |
The final event of this record WSOP-C is set to go on Monday afternoon. The Double Stack Closer is a new event on the schedule, replacing the previous Big 30 Stack that previously closed out the series.
The action gets going at 4 PM, and players get 40k to start. Blinds are 20 minutes long, so it’s a bit of a deepstack turbo format for this one.
Players can buy in or rebuy for 12 levels of poker, putting the last chance to enter at about 8:30 PM. After that, they’ll play down to the ring sometime early Tuesday morning

While it’s not a direct comparison, the final event of the October series, the Big 30 Stack, went to Corey Arsenault, as he won his second ring of the series. Aresenault only entered two tournaments in October, and he won them both.
In this one, he made it through 298 entries for the biggest share of $88,440 in total prizes, after beating Rodney Dyck heads up for the ring. Given the numbers for the rest of this January series, I expect the Double Stack Closer to get significantly more entries than the last event in October, possibly pushing to 500 or more.
