2025 Summer Super Stack – Event #12: $560 Megastack NLH Day 1B
Date: | Aug 7, Noon |
Blinds: | 40 Minutes |
Starting Stack: | 30k |
Late Entry: | 12 Levels (~9:30 PM) |
Day 1 Ends: | 10% of the Field |
Entries: | 17/177 |
Prizes: | $84,075 |
Day 1a of the Megastack was far bigger than anyone expected. My estimates for the field size were 150 at the top end, and Deerfoot’s conservative prediction was 125 entries.
Instead, 177 entries showed up to continue a series that is considerably larger than the Spring Super Stack. That means there is already $84k in the prize pool, and with an expected turnout on Day 1b 50% higher, that easily predicts a $200k+ prize pool when all the chips are in.
The final flight takes off at noon on Thursday, and entries are open for 9.5 hours. The start stack is 30k, and blinds are 40 minutes for this one. Day 1a played very late, with the bubble lasting a couple of hours, finally ending at about 2 AM in Level 19 with a double bustout that meant only 17 of the predicted 18 bags were present at the end.
The biggest among them belonged to Eric Wasylenko and, not at all coincidentally, he has Jerry Li hot on his heels. They both have more than 600k and, again not coincidentally, they were heads up late into the evening on Tuesday in the 6-Max, with Li prevailing in that one. Mal Hagan only recently arrived from the Left Coast, and he’s sitting pretty nicely in third with 555k, the only player in the 500s. James Chalcroft and Chase Bonertz rounded out the 1a top five with stacks in the low 400s. See the end of Day 1 post for the full 17 stacks.

This is the only game on Thursday, with the exception of the Last Chance Satellite for the Main, so I’ll be focused on this till they bag. Wednesday was another late night for me, however, so don’t expect any updates on 1b until after the first break at least.
