Day 1b of Event #3 is ticking along, with the field now one entry shy of 50. That puts the combined prizes over $90k, and the final tally is looking good for a combined prize pool of ~$150k for Sunday’s Day 2.
However, there are also three other events now in the books, with the Seniors and First Chance playing out on opening day, and the PLO Deepstack Hyper finishing last night. Francis Fan is the star of the show so far, after his win in Event #1 and min-cash in Event #4. That gives Fan 122.4 points so far, about 20 points ahead of second-place Jimmy Lee with 105.6.
There is still lots of time for that to change, with all events so far playing out with low buy-ins and therefore lower points totals. The winner of this Event #3 is likely to meet or beat Fan’s current score just for the one win, and points from the big final events like the two Mains will also tend to overshadow earlier scores in the lower buy-ins.
