As the dealer at Table 17 distributed the cards, the players seemed to be discussing UK gambling legislation. While exchanging opinions, Lee Blackburn opened to 700 from the Cut-off, and Stephen O’Keeffe (who made the final table at the 2025 WSOP Circuit Nottingham just a few weeks ago) made the call from the Big Blind.
O’Keeffe checked the 2♠5♠7♣ flop, and Blackburn continued for 600. “So far, I think you have kings,” O’Keeffe said as he made the call. The dealer revealed the 4♣ on the turn; O’Keeffe checked, Blackburn bet 1,100, and O’Keeffe made the call as fast as humanly possible.
“That’s the one,” O’Keeffe said as the 7♥ fell on the turn. He comfortably bet out 4,000, and Blackburn twisted and turned for 10 seconds before making the call.
Stephen O’Keeffe: A♣7♦
Lee Blackburn: 8♥6♦
“How do you not re-raise me with a straight there?” a shocked O’Keeffe said, perhaps relieved he got away cheap.
Lee Blackburn: 54,000
Stephen O’Keeffe: 47,000
