Action folded to Ion Oprea, who opened to 225,000 from the Small Blind. Hady Sirbu defended his Big Blind.

Oprea continued for 260,000 on the 249 flop, and Sirbu called faster than the speed of lightning. Oprea sized up to 575,000 on the 5 turn, and again, Sirbu called as fast as humanly possible.

The river was the 6. Oprea now checked, and Sirbu wasted little time going all in. The whole table gasped as Oprea snap-called.

Ion Oprea: JJ

An utterly impressive call from Oprea under pressure. He claimed the chip lead, while Sirbu was left with only one Big Blind.

The following hand, Matthew Archer raised to 200,000 UTG. Oprea called from the Button, Sirbu went all in from the Small Blind, and Marta Porter also joined the party, seated in the Big Blind.

After Porter checked on the 2AJ flop, Archer fired a 275,000 continuation bet. Oprea and Porter both folded, which meant that Archer and Sirbu went to showdown.

The board competed with AQ, which meant that Sirbu was eliminated in eighth position.
