I just had to ask Stephen O’Keeffe if there’s an interesting story behind his half pool ball with the number 11 on it. He told me the card protector cost $11, but the shipping cost from the States set him back another $65. His birthday is February eleventh, hence the number 11.
He also told me that he once lost his lucky charm during a poker tournament in the Caribbean. Four months later, an acquaintance approached him during a poker tournament in London, asked, “Is this yours?” and reached over the accessory. He’s been reunited with the 50 % ball since then, and time will tell if it will guide him to his first THMC trophy.
