The remaining 43 players in the €555 NLH Championship just returned after a break.
When most players left for the break, Rasmus Lundström and Ismael Dominguez were still involved in a hand at Table 13. This poker.pro journalist joined the action on the river, but was told after the hand concluded how it played out.
Seated UTG+1, Lundström opened to 25,000. Kauno Jäppinen made the call from the Hi-jack, and Dominguez decided to defend his Big Blind.
All three players checked the 4♠Q♠7♦ flop. After another check from Dominguez on the10♣ turn, Lundström bet 40,000. Jäppinen got out of the way before Dominguez made the call. Lundström continued on the aggressive path; he moved all in on the 5♥ river, effectively putting Dominguez at risk for 181,000. This sent Dominguez deep into the tank; after perhaps five minutes’ worth of pondering, Lundström called the clock on his opponent. With just a few seconds left on his countdown, Dominguez made the call.
Rasmus Lundström: 7♣7♥
Ismael Dominguez: A♠7♠
Lundström had the best hand with a set of sevens. As he sent Dominguez to the rail, he improved his stack significantly right before the break.
Rasmus Lundström: 600,000
Ismael Dominguez: 0
