Michael St Pierre-Porter Wins Big Bounty for $7,960

Michael St Pierre-Porter is no stranger to deep runs in poker tournaments — This marks his second win and he has 3 2nd places and a couple of 3rds in his short poker career. His first recorded cash was less than a year ago at the Aug 2024 WSOP-C in Calgary and he had 19 cashes in that time prior to tonight.

All that said, he remarked after the win tonight that this was his first outright win. His other win came after a chop, and several of his second places were also chopped prize pools, so he was happy to take one down outright.

It was a bit of a rollercoaster for him tonight as well. He wasn’t the big stack at any point in the final table until the latter stages of heads up, and had to battle from about a 2:1 deficit when heads up began. He was able to chip up to the lead, however, with strong aggression that forced runner-up Ed Sikorski to fold on later streets and send dead money to St Pierre-Porter’s stack.

In the final hand, he slow-played top-top, trapping Sikorski into a bluff shove on the river before he snapped it off. This looks to be his seventh biggest lifetime score.
