It was an epic run in the money for Michael Wo, as he held the chip lead from the start until they got heads. That’s when he ran into Homan Mohammadi, who came in from Vancouver yesterday clearly ready to play. Wo played a disciplined game and had Mohammadi on the ropes multiple times tonight, but couldn’t quite deliver the final blow.
And Wo himself was on the ropes a couple of times as well as the chips moved around a lot during an epic HU battle that lasted more than two hours. For most of that two hours, it seemed like no one could die. They went from 140 big blinds in play at the start of heads up, down to 60 in play by the time it ended.
It still took a cooler to end it all. Mohammadi was on top at the time, in part thanks to a big double when he hit trip ducks, and Wo was down to just a few blinds left. The money went in on a jack-high flop with Wo on Queens with a ten-deuce and Mohammadi on two pair with eight-three of hearts and and a queen-six to go with it.

The rest of the board bricked for Wo, and he had to settle for second place tonight.
