Day 2 of the Main Event is set with 41 players returning to compete for almost $310k in prizes. The Day 2 action gets going at noon on Sunday (players should remember that the time changes tonight, so they’ll lose an hour between the end of 1b and the start of Day 2), with blinds at 4k/8k/8k in Level 17.
Day 2 blinds are 60 minutes long, but will drop to 30 minutes for heads-up play. Nu Teliani is the player to beat, as she is the only player to bring more than 800k to day 2 after bagging the Day 1b lead. Josh Wallace, who was the Day 1a leader, comes in second with 788k, while James Hopkins, Cam Stewart, and Sheraz Nasir round out the top 5 counts.
The average stack going into Day 2 is still 41 big blinds, so the action is pretty deep. There are 10 players coming into Day 2 with less than 20 big blinds, however, so they’ll be looking for early spots to double. At the other end of the list, the top 10 players have nearly half the chips in play combined.
