The side game on Friday night is the PLO Deepstack Hyper. This unusual combination has seen a lot of interest since it was introduced a few series ago, with 80 entries in the pool on the last one.
The action starts at 6 PM, with all players getting 50k in chips. The action will be fast, however, with 15-minute blinds throughout the game. That tends to lead to big pots and lots of action as the blinds quickly catch up with the deep stacks.
Players can enter or rebuy this one until about 9:15, at the start of Level 12, and they’ll keep playing until a winner is crowned.
In July, it was Tony Comely who won it all, after a heads-up deal with Ron Lauzon. Tony Pioquinto was 3rd in a game that saw more than $20k in prizes.
I’ll mostly be focusing on Event #3 until they bag, so I likely won’t be watching this one very closely until the endgame. It also tends to play pretty quickly, and in past series, it’s been finishing up around the same time as Event #3, so I may not get much time to cover this one.
