Event #1: $340 Seniors First 50+

PPT #4 is about to get underway, and as usual, the 50+ crowd kicks off the festivities with Event #1. The action gets going at noon with players sitting down with 25k in chips.
Blinds are 30 minutes long throughout the game, but will drop to 20 minutes for heads-up play. There are 8 levels of late entry, putting the last chance to enter at about 5:00 PM when they return from dinner. After that, they’ll play down to a winner before the end of the night.
In July, when PPT #3 was across town at Argyle, Shawn Taghavi took down the Seniors crown. That kicked off a pretty solid series for him as he also picked up a second trophy a few days later in the 6-Max, so no doubt he’ll be looking to defend the title and perhaps kick off another great week.
Alek Gillies will be on the floor for this one, though he’ll be starting late. I’ll be trading my notepad for a stack of chips in this one, and trying to follow Shawn’s example. See you on the felt on Thursday, and back in my usual spot behind the keyboard on Friday for the rest of the series.
