While I was counting out his stack after eliminating Madalin Costin, Matthew Skeadas told me about an earlier hand, during which he sent Sho Okoda to the rail in twenty-first place.

Okoda opened to 80,000 on Blinds 20,4000/80,000, and Skeadas defended his Big Blind. Action went check-check on the Q22 flop. Skeadas checked again on the 10 turn, and Okoda dipped his toes in the waters with an 80,000 bet. Skeadas then went over the top with a 250,000 raise, and Okoda responded by moving all in for roughly 400,000. Skeadas made the call without hesitation.

The 8 river didn’t help Okoda, and Skeadas enjoyed knocking out an opponent with the worst starting hand in poker.
