Andrew Teng opened to 160,000 from the Hi-jack. Max Burnley then three-bet to 410,000 from the Cut-off. Action eventually came back to Teng, who studied his opponent thoroughly; Burnley was eating his chicken Caesar salad and seemed very relaxed. After a few minutes’ worth of consideration, Teng four-bet shoved for 1,500,000. Burnley contemplated his decision for a minute or two before making the call, having Teng covered.
Andrew Teng: 8♥8♦
Max Burnley: 10♥10♣
Teng took off his glasses once he saw the bad news. “That gives him a few extra percent,” commentator Guy Taylor joked. Perhaps, he was right; Teng took a miracle lead on the K♦8♣7♠ flop, and Burnley wasn’t able to catch up on the 7♦5♣ runout. Teng, who’s arguably the most prominent player left in the field, claimed the chip lead after doubling through Burnley.
Andrew Teng: 3,500,000
Max Burnley: 2,300,000
