Roughly 30 minutes into hand-for-hand play, the floor announced one last hand would be played before the break. During this hand, action folded to short-stacked Kevin Ferrer, who open-shoved for 52,000. Seated in the Big Blind, Mark Ridley made the call; considering he would be left with 49,000 if he lost the hand, you got the feeling he had a decent hand. Soon enough, the two contestants got the green light to reveal their holdings.
Kevin Ferrer: A♠4♥
Mark Ridley: 8♣8♥
Ridley was ahead, but Ferrer could still hit an ace or other shenanigans. Both players picked up a straight draw on the Q♣J♥10♣ flop. Ridley hit his draw on the 9♣, and received an additional flush draw. Things weren’t looking good for Ferrer, and ultimately, he became the unfortunate bubble boy, as the Q♠ ended his tournament life.
With that, the remaining 41 players are now all in the money, guaranteed a £1,000 min-cash. They are on a break, and the poker.pro editorial office will soon return with the chip counts of the biggest stacks.
Mark Ridley: 168,000
Kevin Ferrer: 0
