Roughly one and a half hours into Day 2, and roughly 40 players have already gone out. There are still quite a few that will have to fall before the top 62 are in the money.
One of the players still in the mix is Vasileios Zisis. While the Greek is mostly a cash game player, he achieved tournament greatness in Malta last year; he conquered a field of 1,814 entries to win the 2024 Battle of Malta Spring Edition for €100,000. Then, six months later, he finished runner-up in the 2024 Battle of Malta Autumn Edition for €160,800, which had 5,799 entries.
Needless to say, Zisis knows how to navigate his way through large fields. Can he channel his Maltese tournament skills and convert them to a victory here in Thessaloniki?
